Caper Beach Cottage Perfect for 2! Honeymoon, Anniversary, or...

This charming cottage was way more than we expected. Immaculate and pretty. Perfect for a couple and ON the beach. Really on the beach and really nothing else quite like it on North Captiva. If we had thought it would have been half as good, we would have booked two weeks. Gary is an unbelievable source as he really knows North Captiva. We will definitely be back. The most relaxing five days that we have had ever on vacation. We ended up cooking at home every night as you really could not find a good reason to leave the cottage. Just returned from our week there, can not say enough how much we enjoyed the area as well as the cottage...it is one of the nicest properties in the area. Gary's attention to detail was amazing and everything that was promised and then some was there. There are plenty of activities on the island and surronding areas to keep you busy or if you want to just relax, there is plenty of quiet as well. Planning our trip back next year and thinking of doing a family reunion thing as it was just the wife and I on this trip.

My wife and I stayed here for our 30th anniversary! Gary and staff were very helpful and reliable to be sure ALL of our needs were met...even a trip to the store.. GET EVERYTHING you need mainland! I cannot stress this enough... Order your groceries and get what you want and need...
OK. So dolphins swim by daily...the beach in front is more for fishing but you can raft or kayak, which we did many times. The sunrises are a picture that will take your breath away! Gary offered a tour of the island but we ventured out..you cannot get lost..lol Definately would say that Sunset beach and the reserve beaches are the best...A word about no see ums...you better NOT go out at dusk without bug protection at all. the no see ums will gladly feast on you.lol
Barnacle Phils is great food and relaxed atmosphere...On the waterfront is HIGHLY recommended..get the grouper stuffed with crab and conch fritters..
We both would recommend this stay IF you want ..NO cars, sirens, NOISE in general...this is a place to rest your soul and have some romantic interludes...loved to walk the beach out front daily and found nice shells and a starfish. The best shelling is on the south end reserve area..be prepared to walk and venture out...I cannot say enough to convince you...the washer dryer was out but laundry was availible..we decided that washing the FEW clothes we had in the tub was best.....YOU only need bathing suits,maybe an outfit for dinner and lots of sunblock..take the sun in increments and enjoy your stay...I literally lived in a bathing suit shorts and t shirts all week and never was out of place. Everyone is friendly and eager to share knowledge of the island...Gary had a nice flower arragemnet and bottle of wine for us TY Gary we really really enjoyed our stay.. I personnnally want o move there some day..really! I never felf more stress relief and just overall great atmosphere..The tv is perfect..small and rabbitt eared..you may enjoy some older shows like any griffith or get smart..we used it for the weather as it rained daily but usually late....no biggie ..we lit some candles and enjoyed quite time...DON'T hesitiate..it is quaint and cozy...
