Waiulaula Villa W/Private Pool and Spa

We spent a week over Christmas with several generations in the villa (ages 4 - 69) and we could not have asked for a more perfect setting. We have stayed at Mauna Kea 5 times and have chosen to stay in the villas/condos for the past 3 visits. This villa was everything as advestised and more. There is an enormous amount of space and each bedroom is essentially a master suite with large attached bathrooms. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped and the large granite island makes for a great place for everybody to hang out after a day at the beach. We ate breakfast and dinner in the villa every day, cutting down dramatically on food costs (MK is excellent, but the prices are premium+). The grill - although somewhat challenging to light as the ignitor function appears to be on the way out - is outside on the lanai and has 8 gas burners which was great for a larger group (in fairness, there are instructions on how to light the gas grill). The villa also has plenty of beach equipment, such as boggie boards, towels, etc. I did not notice this during the reservation process and it was great to have a board for everybody who wanted one (5 or 6).

The jacuzzi and pool at the villa were great for after beach fun and we used them every morning and evening. The community pool is ~2 mins walk from the villa and has two hot tubs and a large infinity pool which were in prestine condition. Decent work out equipment as well, but not a huge selection.

Although we did not use the electronics much, the televisions are nice and the Wii system was an added bonus.

The owner, Dean, was easy to work with and replied very quickly via email. He made the reservation process exceptionally smooth and was very helpful throughout. Overall, the property and the owners were outstanding and the villa was a great place to spend the holidays.
