Stavanger: Stavanger, the capital of western Norway is a charming, typical southern Norwegian city, and an exciting mix of old and new. Its proximity to the North Sea oil fields has made it the fast growing and wealthy oil capital of Norway. But its narrow lanes and white timber houses are all in well preserved traditional style, from classic style to funky. It is a modern city with a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. Contrast characterises this city, the people who live there, the surrounding landscape - and the weather! All this makes Stavanger a pleasant and very charming city. Stavanger is Norway's fourth largest city with 113 000 inhabitants (metro-area 200 500 inhabitants). There are lots of things to see and activities to enjoy here!
Stavanger - the Oil Capital of Norway: Stavanger is world-famous. Stavanger – the oil city. Oil has put Stavanger on the map and given the city valuable experience as a venue for meetings. Those who choose Stavanger, choose a place that is used to major events and all they entail. Tourist attractions, culture, festivals and beautiful and wild Norwegian nature just outside the doorstep!

Ski: A drive to Sirdalen (about 1 1/2 hours) takes you up into the mountains and also to the ski-resorts that are available during winter.
Golf: There are a few golf courses in the local area around Stavanger.
