Woodstock Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-2)

Relax and get away from it all ! Enchanted log cabin in a most private setting only 3 miles from down town Woodstock. Long distance mountain views from the deck, fireflies dancing on warm June nights and owls singing you to sleep, make for a most relaxing setting. Available all year round so you can view New England's glorious Fall colors or cuddle by the fire while snowflakes gently fall. A private, romantic retreat for two, completely furnished. Woodstock and the surrounding areas offer all there is to enjoy in Vermont from fine dining and museums to a myriad of outdoor activities.

Killington skiing, Hanover, NH and Dartmouth College, plus Upper Valley cultural events are all within a 40 minute drive.

IMPORTANT WINTER NOTE: It is strongly recommended that you have an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle for Winter driving in Vermont. The Road is plowed as well as the driveway but if we are having a snow storm the driving can be tricky.

Part of Me Wants to Keep This Place a Secret!.....

  • 5 of 5

.....the other part over rules and wants to send tons of KUDOS to the owner and her property!

2nd time staying at the cabin in as many years for my fiance and me. From the welcome message, to the lights being on and music playing, all the way through our entire stay, it was a welcoming, revitalizing and intimate getaway! We even received gentle snow fall for a picture-perfect end to a picture perfect weekend.

Woodstock is a lovely town, too. Perfect speed for a wind-down weekend from the mad holiday frenzy. Yes, we'll be looking to go back year-after-year. We are totally sold :-)

Owner's Response: Winter has dealt us some challenges this year with ice and snow, but we have a most competent plow and sand fellow who keeps us going. If the traveling in Vermont is dangerous or next to impossible - we will inform you ASAP and jointly decide if it is safe to come. We welcome all of our guests with the greatest appreciation and are so glad for their adventurous natures. Winter is beautiful and fun.

Spoiled us for anything else!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week this fall in this magical cottage; we've travelled a lot and stayed in many VRBO homes (most quite lovely), but this has spoiled us for anything else. Privately, picturesquely situated, beautifully appointed, cozy and full of the most thoughtful touches in each and every delightful nook and cranny. The owner, Sue, has a gift for making guests feel as though they've arrived home; her kindness and multiple courtesies made us feel like long lost friends. Combine that with the cabin's proximity to town (about 5 minutes), and you have the recipe for perfection. The only downside? We couldn't stay forever.

Thank you, Sue, for providing such an exquisite place.

The perfect retreat

  • 5 of 5

Spent three wonderful nights at the cabin in July and can't say enough great things. The pictures are true to life, but still don't do it justice. The owner has thoughtful touches throughout the cabin and has compiled quite of a bit of area information as a resource for guests.

The kitchen has everything you would ever need and a testament to this is the fact that we had three breakfasts and three dinners at the cabin. We simply didn't want to leave and nowhere else would have the tremendous mountain views of our own table or deck.

The location is great for exploring the area and is very close to Woodstock, yet perfectly secluded. We didn't see another soul near the cabin.

The bed and bedroom were comfy and the cool evenings were great for sleeping with the windows open. The bathroom was nicely appointed. The living areas were ample and the furniture was perfect.

If you have stumbled upon this cabin, do yourself a favor and book it.

Owner's Response: "Sleeping with the windows open" is delightful as the Cabin is located near the top of a hill with valley breezes gently cooling it. This year we have added an air conditioner in the bedroom area for those rare nights when the Summer weather needs some extra cooling. Either way - you will rest comfortably in the peace and quiet of the Cabin. A visit to the Cabin is the best way to leave everyday stresses behind. Come see for yourselves.

Sweet Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

Everyone here has had such glowing reviews, I was expecting greatness. The truth exceeded my expectations and the written description of the cabin. The reviews were very important in making the decision to honeymoon here.

We arrived on our wedding night. Being past sunset, the warmly-lit brown-and-white cabin was a welcome sight. It was like walking into a Thomas Kincade painting! The lights left on for us and the music that greeted us made us fall in love with the place. We both LOVE music, and that easy listening channel never changed during our stay. Being so fully and uniformly decorated made it truly feel like home in no time. The very private setting made an ideal location for a honeymoon. All old-fashioned charm, with all the modern conveniences tastefully included. We couldn't have found a better cabin in the woods to fulfill our honeymoon dream!

We enjoyed visiting the Vermont Spot Country Store and the Cabot Cheese store at Quechee Gorge Village, and HIGHLY recommend the glass-blowing and super-savory food at the Simon Pearce house in Quechee. Our final evening we again enjoyed very flavorful Caribbean cuisine at Meleza in downtown Woodstock. Woodstock is a charming old town and we drifted from shop to shop, finding both necessities and gifts.

We're not sure when, but we definitely would like to return someday, and we'll highly recommend the lovely little cabin to others. Thank you, Sue!

Owner's Response: Guests young and old have fallen in love with the privacy, peacefulness and convenient location of the Cabin. It is a wonderful location for a private get-away but is within minutes to Woodstock and all that Vermont and the Upper Valley have to offer. Come visit - we would love to introduce you to this little bit of heaven.

Storybook Setting

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend at this enchanted cabin celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything about it was perfect. From the moment we pulled up I knew our stay was going to be special. You feel as though you literally walked into a storybook. I kept expecting Goldilocks to peep her head out. The cabin is so well decorated and every space so well thought out that I couldn't imagine it being any better. I've never felt more comfortable and at peace in someone else's home. The king bed and it's sheets are luxurious and oh so comfortable. The stained glass windows are beautiful and the corner chair begs for someone to read in it. The cupboards are stocked with everything from tea and honey to garbage bags and cling wrap. The refrigerator was full of coffee, both regular and decaf. The bathroom was even stocked with all the toiletries you can imagine. I've never rented a place that had EVERYTHING one needed for vacation. You only need to bring yourself.

We enjoyed our stay so much that I am bringing my daughter back up in September. Don't look for another rental, you've found perfection right here.

This is JUST What We Needed!

  • 5 of 5

I wish I could be clever and write something different than the other reviews listed - but all I can say is DITTO! The cabin is enchanting. We went for a few days of R&R and we got just that!

Since we arrived at approximately 4:00pm on a Sunday and we had been driving a few hours, we decided to go into town and pick up some things to cook in the adorable kitchen. (To be honest, I also wanted to eat in the very warm and inviting dining room!)

We went to the Butcher Shop and picked up a prepared chicken pie along with some other goodies and settled in for the evening. It was perfect!

Just a note for others going to visit. We did go out for two nights for dinner. The Red Clover Inn in Mendon and Simon Pearce in Quiche were both excellent and I highly recommend them if you choose to leave the cozy cottage.

Thank you Sue for making us feel right at home and giving us the opportunity to stay at your cottage and get the best rest we have had in months!

Owner's Response: There is so much to do in Vermont in the Winter. Of course there is skiing, both downhill and cross country. Even if you do not have your own equipment there are outfitters in the area who will be happy to rent whatever you need. In addition you can: snowshoe, take long walks, skate (indoors and out), snowmobile, swim at an amazing aquatic center, choose a spa, even go sledding on a local sledding slope. If you are not inclined to do anything but read, relax and catch up on your sleep - the Cabin is the perfect place to be. Let us know when you would like to come !
