New Paltz House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Come escape the city and stay in our gorgeous, newly renovated, three-bedroom country house, just three miles from historic New Paltz.
Situated on 4 acres, our two-level house boasts sweeping views of the Shawangunk mountains from both the living room and the master bedroom, a professional open kitchen complete with Viking range and microwave, a large, communal dining table, lovely wide oak plank flooring, and comfortable sleeping arrangements for six. Outside, there’s an open patio/deck, charcoal grill, table for eight, and a hammock.
Perfect for both active and relaxing lifestyles, our house is located down the street from a twelve mile long “rail trail”, good for jogging, hiking, bicycling, or horseback riding, and minutes from the Mohonk Preserve (“Gunks”), and some of the world’s best rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking. There is a nearby skydiving center, and, for swimming enthusiasts, the clear lakes of Lake Minnewaska and Lake Awosting await. Apple picking in one of the region’s many apple orchards is available just down the street, and the local harvest may be sampled straight from the farmers in the several nearby farmers’ markets.
In New Paltz proper, you will find the National Landmark District of historic Huguenot Street from the early 1700s that mark the founding of this town, as well as the more modern amenities of grocery stores, restaurants, bars, wineries, antique shops, movie theater, yoga centers, and climbing gym.
Whether you’re on a family vacation or a romantic weekend getaway, we’re sure you’ll feel happy and comfortable in our house and we invite you to come, relax, and explore the area.

About The Owner
I am a photographer in New York City for 29 years. First came to the area in 1982 and competed on a skydiving team at the Ranch in Gardiner. Hundreds of skydives later, I discovered rock climbing on the pristine cliffs of the Mohonk Preserve.
After years of camping and sharing apartments, I decided to buy a house because I would never tire of the area and all that it has to offer.
23 years later, I still am rock climbing among many other activities. But every year, I find a new trail, a new place to swim, or a new country inn with amazing food!
The Owner purchased this house in 1988
