Ian and Mariya, you are so are gracious! I fell in love with Birchwood Cabin the moment I saw it in the VRBO listing. As soon as I walked through the door I knew I was home. The cabin is comfortable, warm and cozy. The many windows provide a wonderful view to the surrounding woods and abundant wildlife. The historical information provided on the cabin and the area was very interesting. The furnishings in the living room are comfy and the Laura Ashley bed linens are an extra special touch. The kitchen is well-appointed and has everything you could possibly need for a week-long stay. The beach is an easy 10 minute walk. Al's grocery store is awesome and there are numerous restaurants between Michigan City and New Buffalo to satisfy any appetite. Birchwood Cabin was everything and more than I expected it would be. I can't wait to return!
The description is perfectly accurate. Mariya was an excellent hostess. She provided everything we needed and wanted including bikes and suggestions for farmer's markets. She was available but gave us plenty of privacy and solitude. Just what we needed for an anniversary celebration. We enjoyed Stop 50 pizza and Carlson's Drive In in Michigan City. Our favorite part was the short bike ride to the beach. Mornings and evenings we almost had the place to ourselves even in June! We enjoyed climbing sand dunes in the national park nearby. Wonderful place to relax. Peaceful is the best word I could come up with. . . would love to come back.
We were looking for a place to escape the Tucson heat and visit our old stomping grounds for a month. We couldn't have found a better place. Having lived in N.W. Ind. for 65 years we were aware of temp. variations that you can have. The cabin was perfect for my wife and I, the wooded setting, closeness to the lake and all the wonderful wildlife. The owners couldn't have treated us any better. There are many great restaurants in the area. This was a vacation we will never. forget.
We wanted to find a place that was cozy and tucked away in the woods for a nice long relaxing weekend and this was exactly what we needed. The fireplace was our favorite part! The kitchen had everything we needed and Mariya even let us borrow her blender to make perfect Margaritas! We took a long bike ride along the lake and spent some time sitting on the back porch listening to the birds. We can't wait to go back!
It couldn't have been any better. The cabin was perfect for us. All the charm and coziness one could expect. The furnishings were all there, high quality linens and towels. The only thing we could have used was a night light, but I will be prepared and bring one next time. As for the fireplace - WOW! wonderful to have on a cool March day. We didn't want to leave. My husband and I could live there full time. That would be a dream come true.
When we had finally decided how to spend our four year anniversary weekend, we started looking into rental houses in Michigan. This beautiful house popped up on our screen, and we knew it was going to be perfect. Flash forward to the time we get there, we were generously given an early 10am, check in on Friday morning, and a late check out at 11am Sunday morning. The house was absolutely beautiful, very clean, quaint, and so exactly what we were looking for. We spent the days enjoying the scenery, walking to the beach, walking around the neighborhoods, riding our bikes, and taking in all the deer that we saw. The owners were so nice and we loved all there help with things to do in the area. And little did I know that my then boyfriend had a big surprise up his sleeve as he proposed Saturday morning in the dining room over coffee and beautiful sunlight coming in. We will always have the best memories in this house. And when we told the owners the next day when we were leaving that we were engaged they let us know that we were the 7th couple in this house to become engaged. We can not wait to visit and stay at the house again. Oh and the pizza place down the street is amazing!
