We are a hunting and fishing family and love spending time at the lake house.
The Owner purchased this house in 2000
The house is within 3-1/2 hours of Denver. There are activities for everyone to enjoy - from hunting and fishing to antiquing and bird watching.
The house is very comfortable, whether it is just the two of us and the dogs, or the entire family. There are lots of areas, inside and out, for gathering together or spending time alone.
We did have a really nice time at the lake house. The lake house is a nice home. When we did call for something, you responded quickly and we did appreciate that very much, also thank you for getting back to us regarding our deposit. We did make it over to Lake Ogallala and the North Platte River, fishing was good over at the river behind the Diversion Dam. Thanks again.
What a wonderful, peaceful respite! We were visiting family in Lewellen and this home made our visit a true pleasure. Plenty of space. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need to cook and serve. We enjoyed the deck so much! We live on a farm and enjoy the outdoors so we very happy to see all the wildlife entering the back yard. Even though the Lake was down, I enjoyed walking along the trails on the Lake's edge. Also, the people in the surrounding communities were so friendly and helpful.
Renee was also a great help!! If we had any questions or issues, she was right there ready to help.
Another thing which was a plus is the home is pet friendly. We have two dogs and hate to leave them behind. Which this trip we did. But when we arrived and looked over the property, we felt secure in knowing if we brought our dogs on a future visit they would be safe and comfortable also.
Look forward to staying there again!
Have stayed here many times, love this property. I have two dogs and the fenced in area is the best. The kitchen is well stocked with any cooking items you could need. Renee is the best. Highly recommend.
I have enjoyed staying at this fantastic home each year for 8 years now. I look forward to our yearly trip especially for the tranquillity and atmosphere this property provides. Very peaceful with lots of wildlife moving about. Hard wood floors, leather furniture, and the wonderful decor of the home provides a mountain lodge type setting I enjoy. Restauraunts and bars in the nearby areas are very good and wether your hunting, fishing, boating, sight seeing, or just visiting the area this is the place for you. I will be headed back in just about 10 weeks and can't wait to get there. I would highly recommend this property.
I have stayed here many times. What a great place to stay. I am an avid hunter and this place everything anyone could ever ask for. Not only a great house but also has outstanding surrounding. The local restaurants and bars are a added bonus. The people in this area could not be friendlier or more helpful. I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to get away for a week. I have already booked another trip back.
We enjoyed our visit to the lake although we left most of the fish there.
The house was as pictured and advertised except for the grill which we were told would be taken care of. It was broken and didn't look repairable. The kitchen was well stocked. I brought a few pans and knifes, etc but it wasn't necessary. We didn't use the downstairs at all since there was only the two of us. If you are a reader or needleworker bring lighting though. I found it very dim in the house at night.
Since we didn't catch fish everyday day we ate in Ogallala mostly. The Hilltop. Not recommended. The food tasted reheated. The Sands Edge at the east end of the lake. Enjoyed it a lot! We weren't there for prime rib night but would have tried it if possible. I left a menu at the house. Front Porch (I think that's the name. It's the old Wild West Place in town.) Walleye was very good. And the restaurant at the Lake. The Pork BBQ salad was very good.
We hope to return in the fall.
