Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at the house. Our three girls are between the ages of 19 and 29 (with one spouse) and can be hard to please but they all loved the house and want to go back again next year for another ski weekend. The location is great, not far from Bristol Mountain Ski Hill. The kitchen had a great set up so we could prepare food, enjoy a glass of wine and chat. The front enclosed portion of the porch was such a nice, bright room that we enjoyed quite a bit. The view of the valley and mountain was so peaceful. The first night we got there, we saw the moon rise over the mountain. It isn't heated, but we just took blankets out there and enjoyed the views. The winery is just down the road and the tasting room is open until 5 pm. There were wine tasting passes at the house which we used and enjoyed. One of the winemakers gave us a private tour of several buildings. Having wifi was perfect for the girls but they didn't spend much time watching tv or on the internet. We played some family games and it was a fun weekend for all of us!
This house was way better than we could have imagined. My mother traveled with us and did not want to leave. She fell in love with it. The property was well maintained and very clean. We were impressed with how many items were in the kitchen that made it feel like "home". We didn't need half of the things we brought! We are already scheduling our next stay now!
We arrived Friday afternoon ahead of our friends and prepared a fantastic dinner in the wonderfully spacious kitchen! We enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting at Hazlitt which was a short walk from the 1852 house. My husband particularly enjoyed their "wine smoothies". The house was roomy and very inviting. We had 4 couples and had a great time singing, dancing, cooking and visiting several area wineries. Great fall foliage and friendly staff. I was very impressed at the "extras". Little things like snacks, aluminum foil, plastic ziplock bags, spices in the cabinets, extra air mattresses just to name a few! There was not only a washer and dryer... There was detergent too!! Kitchen included stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven and outdoor gas grill. Property was large enough for outdoor activities and owners had books and board games for adults and children alike. We are already looking forward to returning next year!
A group of us rented this house for a weekend gathering (5 adults and 4 children). It was an equal distance drive for all of us.
The house was great for a gathering of friends. It's large in size and has an even bigger yard. The front porch is an excellent place to relax, catch up and have a glass of wine; we spent a lot of our weekend there.
The owners/winery were great to deal with. Communication by email was efficient and comprehensive. We were even given VIP passes for wine tasting at the winery, which is a two minute walk from the house.
If you're looking for a place to meet up with friends and/or family and relax this is a great option!
We rented the Hazlitt house for a girl's weekend getaway to celebrate a 40th birthday. It was perfect and we didn't run into any ghosts :) The house was very spacious, clean and easily accommodated 6 of us. The free wine and wine tasting was a bonus! Fun was had by all. We can't wait to do it again.
This place was absolutely awesome. The kids skied at Bristol Mountain while my husband I relaxed. Several places to go Hiking and although we didn't take advantage of the winery we will next time. Games and Books were provided for all to enjoy. Would highly recommend this place for any type of event. Would love to comeback.
