BOARDMAN RIVER RETREAT WITH HOT TUB & WIRELESS INTERNET

Traverse City House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-14)

If you're looking for the perfect Up North Getaway for your family or group of close friends, any time of year, then look no further than this Boardman Retreat located in the quiet and relaxing Boardman River Area of Traverse City.

Start your day with a hot cup of coffee on the front porch, getting reacquainted with nature. Watch beautiful birds swoop in for a snack at the bird feeder, see a deer grazing for a morning snack, or watch the trout jump in the Boardman.

Later, enjoy a tube or kayak down the beautiful Boardman River, take a short 10 minute drive into downtown Traverse City, or enjoy a quiet afternoon sunbathing on our deck.

In the evening, take a relaxing dip in our hot tub or have a bonfire with your family.

Inside the main house, it's all about comfort and convenience so you can spend all your time relaxing. There are 3 bedrooms, all situated on the same level, making it easy to keep the whole family close together.

One of the bedrooms features 2 single beds, while another bedroom features a queen and the master bedroom features a pillow top king with its own private powder room. In addition, there are two other full bathrooms. A pull out couch is found on the porch.

The main house has two spacious living rooms. The first is set up for enjoying some family entertainment. There is a 51” Plasma TV, a large selection of movies and television shows on DVD, and a Wii. In the corner is a game table complete with more board and card games than you can imagine. Sure, you can bring your own - but believe us, we've got plenty of entertainment options for every member of the family. The second living room is located on the porch. The room is a sea of windows facing the Boardman and there is a wood burning stove. This living room can easily seat 8 and the couch pulls out for more sleeping accommodations.

The kitchen has got everything you need ... just add groceries. It's fully loaded with all the appliances -- refrigerator, dishwasher, stove & oven, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, and more. Plus, all the other kitchen supplies you'd expect - pots and pans, cooking gadgets, silverware and place settings. Believe us, you'll find everything you need and more.

The dining room has a large table that can easily accommodate 12 people and there is a small table near the windows that can accommodate another two.

And since this Boardman Retreat is all about creating the perfect safe and relaxing environment for your family and friends, we thought we'd point out a few things that make us stand out.

YOUR PRIVATE SLICE OF HEAVEN

A private drive over the Boardman River leads you to this extraordinary property that's all yours to explore and enjoy. Acres and acres of woods (stretching far up the Boardman) surround you to the river's edge.

NATURAL SWIMMING HOLE

The Boardman is wonderful for adventures – scenic kayak rides and leisurely tubing trips down river. But, sometimes, all you want to do is have a nice relaxing dip without swimming down current. There's a perfect swimming spot down the wooden steps into the Boardman where the water naturally returns against the current, making for the ideal place to take a dip without following the river's path.

THE BUNK HOUSE

Wait till you see this place. An entire “Bunk House” on the property, separate from the main house. Perfect for families that need some extra space, the Bunk House is filled with additional sleeping accommodations (can sleep up to 6). And it's a wonderful place for families to enjoy “game nights” in this cozy and rustic house. This is perfect for accommodating large groups in the summer. Please bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and additional linens if you would like to make use of this space.

LOCATION

Our location on the Boardman River, just 10-15 minutes from Downtown Traverse City, means you're always going to be close to the attractions you would like to visit, but far from the hustle and bustle of the weekend crowds. And between the access to the local hiking trails, the birdwatching, the trout fishing, the tubing, kayaking, and relaxing away from it all – you'll always find something do at the Boardman Retreat … even if that means doing nothing at all!

Now, doesn't this sound like a wonderful place to start building memories that will last a lifetime?

We would love for you to spend your precious family time with us. Please reserve your vacation today!

Boardman Retreat has been in our family for over 30 years. My brothers and I have been enjoying the property since we were young children and now we continue to enjoy it with our own families.

Sara Gabriel purchased this house in 1970

When we are at the Boardman Retreat in the summer we enjoy swimming, tubing, kayaking, & fishing followed by bbq, hot tubing and a bonfire. In the winter, we love to snowmobile, cross country ski, and spend hours hanging by a warm fire.

Everything you would want in a rental house and more!

  • 5 of 5
I have stayed at many rental properties on various vacations, but this Boardman River location has the most to offer. Seven people slept very comfortably in the 3 bedrooms and room with the sleeper sofa. The grill, tubes, kayak, canoes, lifejackets, towels, water shoes, Wii, games, cards, movies, towels and HOT TUB a great place to spend the day.

The sun room was a great place for the early risers to play or talk while others continued in dreamland.

Travers City is within 10 miles and not an issue in driving to. The house is well located to visit the multitude of sights in the TC area.

Two thumbs up all around.

Couldn't ask for more!

There were six adults in my group and everyone wants to come back! The home was secluded and peaceful, the river was amazing and the yard was huge- we played frisbee and soccer! At night we did the hot tub and bonfire and the deck was perfect for sun tanning and eating outside. We even floated down the river even though it was only 55 degrees, it was irresistible. There is a convenient store nearby and the home wasn't too far from the wineries and downtown. We even played Uno by the fireplace. All this we did in a weekend, but we wish we had a week of vacation there. We hope to visit again!

Simply Incredible Property

  • 5 of 5
This property on the Boardman River is simply incredible. I just returned from 3 day bachelor party trip with 13 guys. The main house and bunk house very comfortably accommodated everyone. With the winding river just steps from the house, a huge deck, an enormous lawn for outdoor games, a large clean hot tub, canoes, tubes and a kayak…. this place has everything. You need only bring food and drink and the rest is provided! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, the bbq is ready to fire up, the bed's are made, the towels provided…. the owner left a 'welcome' case of beer for us!
The property is very secluded yet quite close to Traverse City. There are a pile of golf courses with 20 minutes drive. Downtown T.C. is less that.
A short drive away is a "put in" for an awesome tube and canoe trip down the winding Boardman River. Probably the most fun I've had in a long time...
Many of us are considering coming back with our families.

All in all, a truly amazing place that made for an awesome guys weekend. I could not have been more impressed!

Phenomenal Retreat!

  • 5 of 5
My 2 sisters & I went with our families this summer for a wonderful get-away! The layout, with bedrooms in the main house for the adults and the separate bunk house for the kids, was perfect. The setting was just magical, with the river flowing right next to the deck where we would gather any time of day. The proximity to Traverse City & the whole northern MI 22 drive meant that no one ever had trouble finding something to do. We went canoeing several times, climbed the Sleeping Bear Dunes, went further north to the lighthouse, shopped in Leland, Northport and Glen Harbor, hit the beach & the Cherry Festival in Traverse City. All in all, it was an idyllic vacation!

Our travers City vacation

  • 4 of 5
Our experience generally very positive, above average than many vacations we took in the past. The location absolutely superb. You could really dwell in peaceful serene environment you could forget the world. Many activies available fishing , swimming, wine tasting and many more.

Only one sub par experience I would point out is bedding, it was squeaky horrible. For amount of money they charge they could provide lot better bedding than what we experience, it was true in all bed rooms and they were smaller too. There was one king size bed! Lastly all bath travels were brown color it was confusing who used what, they should provide different colors towels so everybody can easily identify who use what. The other amnesties were good and plenty full , I would like to visit again if they improve their bedding and few minor things.
