Tranquil, family-friendly farm setting in gorgeous Eden Valley. Our small cottage is clean and cozy and the perfect family environment. Start the day gazing at the mountains, sipping fresh brewed coffee on the cottage porch. Laugh at the llam, mini horses, sheep, geese, dogs, chickens and pet the cats. Drive a short distance to beaches, trails, lakes and down town Port Angeles too. Take a hike or catch a movie. Have a great meal in town or go beachcombing. There is truly something for everyone.
Sleep on an antique metal bed or fold out the comfy futon. You might want to climb up in the loft and watch the stars out the window as you enjoy the peace and quiet far removed from city noise.

I grew up in Port Angeles, have lived here most of my life and feel fortunate to be able to raise my own family in this area. I love the Olympic Peninsula and never tire of hiking, Fishing, and mountain biking the trails littered around me. When I am not outdoors I like going to the movies or watching movies at home with my kids.
One of my very favorite things to do is have friends and family over for BBQ's.
Darin Reidel purchased this cottage in 2004
We purchased our home and farm on 8 acres of property in 2004 and loved the area so much from the start we knew we wanted to share it.
When we finished building our little 400 square foot guest cottage in 2006 we decided that using it as an affordable and family friendly vacation rental would be the perfect thing to do.
We built the guest cottage about 70 feet from our main house so we would have easy access for cleaning, repairs and upkeep.
We have had many wonderful people stay with us over the last few years and we have really enjoyed using our cottage for travelers. We hope to do so for many years to come.
If you stay with us on our farm you are just a short drive from the Olympic National Park, the Hoh Rain forest, Hurricane Ridge and many other amazing lakes, beaches and trail heads.
Forks and La Push are about 1 hour away, for all 'Twilight' lovers.
You can drive to Port Angeles for dinner and a movie in less than 20 minutes or catch the ferry and head to Victoria, Canada, around a 95 minute trip.
If you just want to relax, climb up into the cozy loft and read a good book or take a nap. You could also sit on the cottage porch or take a scenic walk and watch the animals, both domestic and wild.
This is an awesome little cottage in the perfect location. We were simply looking for a place to stay that would allow us to visit Port Angeles and Olympic National Park, but this place turned out to be the best part of the trip! The cottage is secluded on a farm, but there is everything you could possibly need and Darin is always there to help. We needed a few suggestions and directions, and Darin always gave the 110% answer. The bed was comfy, the amenities were robust, and the animals were plentiful. We greatly enjoyed sitting by the fire during the nights and making cat friends.
I would highly recommend this getaway for anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you Darin for an awesome stay and I hope to be back there again.
We came here for a pre Valentine's Day weekend get away and our stay couldn't have been better! The cabin is so lovely and charming. We loved being greeted by the different animals :)
Darin- thank you for the prompt and helpful communication, the gorgeous cabin, and a wonderful weekend away. We loved building a fire and making s'mores- along with the abundance of new cat friends! And the sauna was a wonderful night cap.
We spent our time exploring port Angeles, port Townsend, and hiking the HOH rainforest (along with a night out dancing at bar n9ne). But our relaxing and peaceful night in was our favorite.
We will absolutely be back!
We had an excellent stay. The house was comfortable, clean and the host was great with many excellent suggestions. Our kids loved playing at the farm and we had wonderful day trips.
My husband and I had a wonderful, leisurely weekend in the peninsula and this cabin was just PERFECT for our weekend plans! The cabin itself was very well-maintained and had all the little amenities we could need while we were there along with the added bonus of a adorable animals! :) The owner is very friendly and easy to reach if you have any questions (or lock yourself out ;) ) Overall, great location, cute cabin, and amazing view! Loved out stay!!
When we arrived at Darin's place, we were greeted by 6 cats, opening the wooden door, Darin's world is a little fairy land: horse, geese, llama, ox, dog, and cats cats cats, miniature house, children's playground, BBQ pits... The location is about ten minutes drive from port Angeles, very convenient to all the Olympic park attractions. Recommended to anyone who loves animal and quietness.
My husband and I had a brief overnight stay at this lovely cottage and boy do I wish we stayed longer! From the moment I arrived I was happily greeted by a clan of cats, each with their own quirky trait, the friendliest mini horse and many other furry friends. The cottage is clean, quaint and cozy and has everything one could possibly need. The property is a kid's paradise between all of the fun toys, horseshoe pit, and of course the animals! I think my favorite part was the tire swing :) Nights were quiet and mornings were peaceful. One night was definitely not enough, and I very much look forward to returning. Thank you Darin for opening your doors to us travelers!
From our back door we are from 20 to 90 minutes from all of these activities: 'Twilight' Forks and La Push, lakes and beaches, downtown Port Angeles and the ferry to Victoria BC, the Olympic National Park and the Olympic Game Farm, Sequim Lavender Festival, Juan De Fuca festival, Dungeness Crab and Seafood Festival, Arts In Action Sand Castle Competition, North Olympic Discovery Marathon, plus much, much more.
