Hugging the banks of the Blanco River, the farm sits in a beautiful Hill Country valley, below its own Montesino Mountain. Guests have a cozy queen bed and twin sleeper, a custom kitchen equipped with necessities, a private bathroom and relaxing shower, a bbq grill in the yard, as well as a fire circle to light your evening adventure. Montesino is conveniently located a few miles from Wimberley's eclectic shopping and diverse dining. Visit local vineyards, sit in on the music scene, or splash into one of Wimberley's many swimming holes. Come and watch the sunrise over nature's beautiful bounty! We have over 2 miles of pristine hiking trail, 8 miles of untraveled roads for biking and a pitch and putt disc golf course. We have four studios all together so give us a call to see if we have an opening.

Welcome to Montesino, Spanish for “mountain destiny”. We are a 172 acre working ranch, located 3 miles outside of Wimberley. Opening Montesino only on select weekends gives us the pleasure of sharing our special place with you.

Our ranch is 172 acres of exceptional Hill Country geography with unique, rustic architecture, using native and reclaimed materials. Choosing the perfect settings here for your occasion are usually a heartfelt process; as we share with you our Montesino architecture, so intricately sited onto the native land.

Family get a way

Just returned from a weekend with family at Montesino. My husband and I had the downstairs studio and my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and nephew had the upstairs studio. It was a perfect set up and the land around you is incredible. We bought fresh beef, organic veggies - everything was produced from right there on the farm. The river is a very short walk, lots of hiking with picnic tables in various locations, and fun shopping in Wimberly. It was a perfect weekend with family and they are terrific hosts! They are wonderful stewards in every way of the property and how the land is cared for which made staying there even more meaningful. Even though there is plenty to do it was one of the more relaxing, peaceful get-a-ways I've had in a long time.

Wine Tour

We stayed the weekend in Wimberley for our self-guided Texas wine country tour. All the vineyards are within a 40 minute drive if you limit yourself to the 6 or 7 found in Driftwood, Dripping Springs, and Wimberley. 15 minutes will get you to the Corral Theatre, Old Baldy, and downtown. The units are in pristine condition, and all the furnishings are more than adequate for a 1 BR studio. Melody is a wonderful host and made the farm feel like a second home. The farm itself is quite the attraction -- in all honesty, the views from atop the hill on west (?) side of the farm were far more spectacular than the those from Old Baldy. Also, if you find out that you will be staying at the farm during the annual barn dance, you should definitely go. That was easily one of the highlights of our trip :) so make sure you bring your dancing shoes / boots!

Heavenly Girls Retreat

We stayed at Montesino for two nights of R&R amongst a close group of 8 women. We rented three studios and had plenty of space...both together and separate, if needed. Enjoyed croquet in the yard, cocktails by the fire, the wildlife and the backdrop of beauteous Hill Country views. Outr stay coincided with a nearly full and bright moon. we hiked to the pavilion and did Yoga in the moonlight. It was very enchanting. We wanted for nothing. This is truly a little gem of a spot tucked only three miles from Wimberley center.
