Whether you are there to finish writing that book, spend the last weekend alone before the arrival of your first child, or are just looking for a cozy place to curl up in front of a fire with a good book from the extensive library -- this is the place for you. We were there for all of the above and loved it.
The place has a lovely master bedroom and superbly appointed living room, a well stocked kitchen (and library), a wrap-around porch and open views of the water.
A car is advisable if you want to get around town quickly, but we made it there without one -- without problem. It makes for an even more relaxing experience. The house is a quick 15 min/$15 cab ride (or a leisurely hour's walk) from Guilford train station/downtown. A public beach is a quick 3 min walk up the street. Downtown Guilford has a couple good coffee stores and a handful of shops and restaurants (which also deliver).
The owners are always on call, and the neighbors are just far enough to make for a secluded experience -- and close enough to hand-deliver additional firewood should you run out.
Highly recommended!

Owner's Response: We love the ice and bright light of winter. But for summer visitors: in addition to the public beach where you can launch the kayaks we provide, there is an idyllic private association beach, as well as a private dock, just steps away.
