Beach Glass Cottage sits right on a tranquil stretch of sandy beach. From the wall of glass in the living room, the huge bay window in the upstairs bedroom, and the glass eating area in the kitchen, you look out on the most beautiful land & sea scapes anywhere! The Lubec Channel Lighthouse, Campobello Island, Grand Manan Island, West Quoddy Head State Park, and Lubec Sand Bar are at your door step. The first floor is styled for universal accessibility and comfort. It features a spacious king bedroom suite with ADA compliant master bath with 5 foot roll-in shower (equipped with bench seat). The roomy kitchen has an island cooktop with 6 burners, convection/conventional wall oven, raised dishwasher, glassed-in eating area, and terrific water views. The living room has double french patio doors creating a wall of glass looking out to sea. Huge deck with gas grill where you can relax and enjoy the incredible views! Second king bedroom with wall of glass, full bath & study area upstairs.

Notes on Wheelchair Accessibility: I have renovated this house to make the first floor fully wheel chair accessible, with universal design features that are both eye pleasing and comfortable for everyone. There are parts of the existing structure that limit the degree to which I can bring every feature up to the ADA standards for new public buildings, but I have come as close as I can in a private residence. This house is very comfortable and accessible for everyone, including people who use wheel chairs or other mobility devices. If you have concerns or specific requirements, you should contact me to ask for space measurements and features to be sure this house will meet your needs.

New -- Ceiling fans on both floors help circulate the cool ocean breezes on warm days and distribute quiet, efficient gas heat during winter months.

Lubec is home to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, at the easternmost point of land in the contiguous U.S. The Down East area showcases nature at her finest. Whales, eagles, osprey, moose, and bear inhabit the region. During migration season, whales pass close enough to be seen from shore! Local whale and puffin tours provide the opportunity to observe nature up close and personal. Beach roses, wild iris, and beach peas line the pristine shoreline. The area is host to three state parks, two international parks, a national wildlife refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of well maintained hiking trails. The area is rich in history—the first naval battle of the Revolutionary War was fought in nearby Machiasport. Maine's own 'Cannery Row' lined the waterfronts of Lubec and Eastport with sardine canning factories. You'll find it all here—rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and friendly people. You won't find pollution, crowds, or traffic jams.

  • Winter vacations and extended stays are available. Please ask for rates and availability.
    This house can also be rented for the winter season (October through May) for $2,000/mo plus utilities.

Brand new , nearly silent, Kitchen Aid dishwasher is mounted on a short raised platform to be a comfortable reach for everyone. Pass through counter into living room is convenient and open concept floods whole house with water views! Glassed in dining area in kitchen provides terrific water views and plenty of southern light. This house has it all -- if you do not find it here, I'll get it for you! This is the best beach front location in the area with 180 degree water views including Lubec Channel Lighthouse, Campobello Island, Grand Manan Island, West Quoddy Head, and open ocean. Gorgeous!

The Beach Glass Cottage lives up to it's name. From the wondeful glass windows with many angles to view the beach to the "sea glass" located on the beach. This cottage is filled with everything a person could possibly need -- from a fully-equipped kitchen to the washer and dryer. For us, we were happy to have free long-distance phone service since our PA cell phones would not work in the area. The TV had many channels if one has to stay in for any reason (we had a rainy day or two). There is much to do.........whale-watching tours, lighthouses nearby, cross over to Canada......even a local chocolate store. Just watching the seals as they played and basked in the sun was amusing......and the ebb & flow of the tides. Jody herself was very pleasant and "hands on" if you had any questions or needed her in any way. We had our Friday night fish fry at a local place called Uncle Kippy's; we felt as though we were part of one big family and had known these people all our lives. And even the thought that went in to making the cottage handicap-accessible was also a big plus. It was good having everything on the main level..........even if you aren't handicapped. Only difficulty I had was in actually getting to the beach because you must step down a slight bank. But the upstairs bedroom has a bathtub, which I prefer so the cottage can be used by anyone. Hopefully we can return again in the future.

My husband & I rented Beach Glass Cottage for one week and were so sorry to leave at the end of the week. The cottage is lovely, clean and comfortable, almost 100% remodeled. Thoughtfully set up for both handicapped and fully able persons. Wonderful views from every window, just a few hundred feet from the shore. A ten minute drive to Lubec village which is quite small and has friendly business owners, several good eating establishments, a quiet and earnest community. A number of walking trails and strolling beaches within short drive, a nature lover's delight. We would definitely rent from this owner again.

Comfortable, clean and secluded

Jody had everything we needed to feel at home. The beds were comfortable, very nice new washer and dryer! Everything you could think of. We loved the secluded beach. We watched seals playing in the ocean one morning. We found teal, pink and other colors of sea glass right outside the cottage on the beach.We would love to come back! Next time we will fly! 26 hours was a long drive!
