Stay at this ultra charming, privately owned beach cottage for a relaxing holiday. Very tastefully furnished. The wood paneled walls and vaulted ceilings combined with modern furnishings instill a shabby chic beach feel. The 2 bedrooms are outfitted w queen beds each, covered in down bedding with cotton sheets....sleeps 4 people comfortably. The InTheCanyon Holiday beach house is located just steps from the Pacific Ocean, and a variety of restaurants to choose from. Our guests bike or walk to cinemas and shopping at the Third Street Promenade, where the local Farmers Market takes place twice a week. The kitchen provides for everything and we are happy to cater to special needs. Kids are very welcome, who will love the play structure on the property. We can provide a baby bed, and high chair.

Wonderful stay

The property was just as advertised - very clean and lots of sunlight! We enjoyed walking to the beach and a few restaurants. The driving into the shopping areas of Santa Monica was super easy and quick. When we needed anything (such as more towels), they responded promptly. Overall, our stay was lovely!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

My family and I stayed here during our visit to Santa Monica. We had a wonderful time and have very fond memories of our little home. First, it was absolutely spotless. Impeccably maintained and cleaned. The location is fantastic, we could walk directly to the beach easily. In addition to this, our street had some of the finest restaurants which you can visit or order take out. We found the owner to be extremely accommodating. Our flight back to NYC were cancelled due to hurricane Irene. It was not a problem to extend our stay till we could get flights out. This was a big deal since it took so much stress off me while dealing with the flights. Thank you!!!! We are definitely coming back.

FANTASTIC BEACH COTTAGE

Let me say first of all this is this first time I have ever tried this method of accommodation , any time I go on holiday I always stay in a hotel but after my stay here I will never stay in a hotel in Los Angeles again.

Everything we saw on the info to the pictures was spot on .

When we arrived the cottage was spotless clean ,I traveled with my wife and 9month
old baby , there was a high chair and baby cot provided by the owners .

There was plenty of towels ,shampoo body wash etc , soap powder , salt &pepper , all the little things you forget to buy ,

The tv was great cable tv with sports and lots of movies to choose from at no extra cost ,
The beds were very comfortable

There was a little area outside to sit and entertain ,also a great kids play area with a swing .

The kitchen had everything there you would have in you own home to cook a family dinner , fantastic

Plenty of restaurants within walking distances offering great food also Vons supermarket is only 5 mins away by car .

We must say a special big thank you to the owners Frank & Diana who made us very welcome in there cottage they also came to the cottage and gave us a lovely bottle of champagne on dec 31 to celebrate New Year what a lovely touch Thank you.

We have already recommend this cottage to our friends in Scotland and Los Angeles .

This is the only place we will be staying when we come back to Los Angeles it was fantastic .

This cottage was also featured in a two page spread in the uk OK magazine .

Once again the perfect holiday home

great location

The beach house is very conveniently situated for the beach (5 minutes walk at the end of the road). Everything apart from food was available at the beach house. The kitchen had everything, there is a utility room, two large bedrooms - one ensuite, and a further shower room, a cute porch, a garden and plenty of off street parking. We were extremely comfortable there and had a great time.

We felt very safe in the area, which has a great community atmosphere. Lots of people work out on the beach and everyone was very friendly.

Lots of good restaurants at the corner of the road (highly recommend the Hungry Cat - great seafood) and Patrick's Roadhouse for breakfast. Very good local shops and restaurants are 5 minutes away by car and Santa Monica (7 minutes by car) has a large shopping area with all the well known and designer shops. We went to the Staples Centre for the basketball. Door-to-door on the Santa Monica freeway took 30 minutes.

I thoroughly recommend the beach house for its comfort, cosiness, location and price for couples and families.

Absolutely Fabulous Holiday

This cottage is exactly like it is advertised in the brochure online. The place is tastefully decorated and so functional for your long awaited holiday. We stayed whilst on our way home to Australia after 10 weeks around the world trip and it was just the place to put your feet up and catch our breath before heading back to reality.
We soaked up the local atmosphere which is very laid back and the Santa Monica beach was gorgeous. Try a walk to the Santa Monica Pier it is about a 30-40 minute walk along the water, then stroll on through the town and head back along the cliff top. It is so relaxing and great to walk off some wine & food. Hire a bike then head down to Venice Beach, very interesting people there!!
We went to Universal Studios by taxi cost around $60 each way but shared between four of us it was cheaper and less hassle than public transport - takes around 30 minutes in good traffic to get there. Taxi to airport is around $55 so pretty reasonable too.
Our host Diana was so helpful making sure our holiday was superb. Diana invited us on our second evening to her Gallery called “169 Gallery” (google it) adjacent to our cottage as they were hosting a special event- the opening evening for a photographer who was displaying his works. Well Diana did not have to ask us twice as our celebrity photographer was Graeme Nash out of “Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young” – WOW!!! The evening was one to boast and talk about to our friends for a long time to come. We had conversation, pictures and sipped wine on our front lawn with Graeme Nash. We also enjoyed sharing our different cultures with the locals that we met. Thanks Diana
We ate at “Patricks” around the corner for brunch and also enjoyed some evening meals at The Golden Bull straight across the road. The meals were very reasonably priced and would fill up any hungry man.
We would definitely stay here again in the future.
