At this wonderful home, aptly named Peacewood, marvel over the magnificent sunset as you relax on the screened porch, drink in hand, enjoying the aroma of dinner on the grill. With mountain and lake views that take all of your stress away, even the worst teenager will seem like a nice person.
The exquisite blue green waters of Lake Douglas promise something for all, whether you are an avid fisherman, love to swim, water ski, jet ski or just enjoy relaxing on the water. A variety of boats are readily available for rental at the many public marinas.
You are just minutes from the incredible beauty of The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the action of Pigeon Forge, and the charm of Gatlinburg. Dollywood and Splash Country are nearby and provide fun for all.
Create great meals in the full kitchen or treat yourself to the delights of a local restaurant. Enjoy your favorite programming on the 55' HD TV and... you can watch from room to room so you won't miss a beat.
Peacewood is kid friendly.....the kids can have fun with XBOX KINECT, air hockey, mini ping-pong, and foosball. There is a special playroom on the second floor especially equipped for the little ones. The yard is large enough for running around to work off unspent energy.
With enough room to sleep 10 very comfortably, Peacewood can be used for a large get together with family and friends or just a romantic getaway. A washer and dryer are available and all linens are provided.
You will not be disappointed in Peacewood where local color and flavor abound as you encounter a horse and buggy on the road or see deer grazing nearby. Come and revel in Peacewood!

We have been married for 27 years and enjoy taking car trips. The drive from New Orleans to Dandridge is lovely and though we love New Orleans unconditionally we also love our home in Dandridge and treasure our time there. Our three children are happy to spend time enjoying the beauty of Peacewood.
Kathy Garaudy purchased this cabin in 2011
After looking at over 50 homes in Tennessee and North Caroliina, the minute we saw Peacwood we knew it was the home for us. With both lake and mountain views and the fabulous living area that could accommodate a large extended family like ours we were sold. We thoroughly enjoy the lake and have had many enjoyable hours skiing, swimming and just riding around in a boat, amazed by the scenery.
One of the best things about Peacewood is the sunsets. They are spectacular. And we love viewing the wildlife. We never know if we will see deer running about or eagles soaring overhead.
Peacewood is just that.... very peaceful. Located at the top of a hill, it offers privacy and incredible views. The cabin was spotless when we arrived and is very comfortable. It sleeps at least 10 people, though we enjoyed the cabin just for the two of us. The kitchen was fully stocked with enough pots, pans and cooking utensils. The knives could be sharper, but we managed. The living room was very comfortable. The homeowners did let us know that the driveway was best suited to 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. They weren't kidding. It starts out as gravel then becomes paved. If you don't have 4 wheel drive, you need to get a running start. The screened porch is wonderful with breezes that blow right through. Very relaxing. It is quite a winding road (as are most in this area) to get back to the property, but it is still conveniently located. The cabin has a hot tub which we enjoyed every day, sometimes twice a day. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching. We found binoculars in the hall closet and we were blessed with a bald eagle flyover one night. A bird book is in the cabin to help you identify those that you don't see very often. There are many books and pamphlets to peruse to plan your day, including a great book on hiking trails of the Smokey Mountains. If the trail is listed as strenuous, it is. We attempted a walk on Rainbow Falls trail, but only made it one mile before turning back. However, we were limited by recent health issues. If you are active and healthy, you won't have any issues.
After our many trips to East Tennessee we finally enjoyed a day at Dollywood (expensive but fun) and the Biltmore in North Carolina. That was about an hour and 15 minute trip and well worth it. We highly recommend the Biltmore. Take 25/70 to Ashville rather than I40. It is a more scenic, less stressful route.
We have two negatives...The water smells of sulpher. Very unpleasant, especially in the shower. We were glad that we packed plenty of bottled water for making coffee or drinking. The mattress on the king bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable. As a person with a chronic lower back issue, I did not sleep well at all. One side of the bed slopes to the edge and it is just not supportive at all. It definitely needs to be replaced or I would recommend that guests bring a thick foam mattress topper. The positives far outweigh the negatives, but for these reasons, we give it 4 stars rather than 5.
It was the perfect meeting place for all three cousins from New Orleans, Chicago, and Falls Church. We thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings-- we used every porch to soak up the different mountaintop views. The house was clean, spacious and able to accommodate 10 of us comfortably--keeping in mind the bunk beds are more suitable for children, esp the bottom bunks. The grill and kitchen also worked well for family dinner nights. There was never a dull moment of activities: hiking, Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, rafting, hillbilly golf, bush bean tour, s'mores, and tubing on the lake. The TV was only turned on 3 times :). I would highly recommend Peacewood for family getaways!
Exceeded all expectations for our family's Thanksgiving, including snow! Very modern and well-maintained, absolutely spotless, and so homey and welcoming at the same time.
We spent a couple nights here and the house is incredible. It has a nice open floor plan and the rooms are large and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked, our sunset was lovely and the screened in porch provides a great view. We will definitely go back.
My new husband & I wanted a warm and inviting location with spectacular views for our intimate wedding. We thought Peacewood would be perfect and we were right! Absolutely beautiful! We used the screened in porch for our 14 guests and the service and was protected from the rainy day. God seemed to smile on us when the most beautiful weather came during the actual service-so nice! It was romantic and just what we had imagined. We enjoyed the wonderful cabin and its special location for the following week. I couldn't have imagined a more relaxing place. The owners were super helpful. Thank you so much!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. There was plenty of room for everyone, the view was beautiful and we enjoyed the walk in the woods surrounding the cabin. We built a fire in the fire pit and roasting marshmallows. The kids had a good time playing with the game on the balcony and going up and down the stairs. We recommend this cabin for an enjoyable stay.
This beautiful cabin is near Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg with endless hours of fun for the whole family. Also near Dollywood and Splash Country and just minutes from Great Smoky Mountain National Park!
