A preeminent rental resort on 16 acres in Harbor Springs, Michigan
Blisswood offers stunning surroundings, vintage luxury, and an incomparable ambiance. Located on the sunset coast of Lake Michigan's famed Tunnel of Trees just north of quaint Harbor Springs, Blisswood epitomizes the beauty, grandeur and serenity of one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Whether you are planning a family reunion, sportsmen's holiday, wedding, or corporate retreat, the unmatched atmosphere of Blisswood's lodging combined with acres of manicured grounds and woods overlooking Lake Michigan provide the perfect setting.
This is more than a place to vacation or retreat... this is your destination.
The Main Lodge: The main lodge is approximately 4000 square feet and has three upstairs bedrooms, each with its own very large full bathroom. (There are two more half-baths downstairs.) Two of the bedrooms have King-size beds while the third room offers two Full size beds. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and offer some magnificent views of the lake. The library has two queen sofa sleepers that flank the stone fireplace.
As with all of our residences, Blisswood Lodge is decorated in a luxurious north woods fashion containing many antique pieces produced by the original Bliss family. The Lodge is anchored by three stone fireplaces in the living room, dining room and breakfast room. Each of these rooms exudes a tone of sumptuous comfort that is at once homey yet refined. The kitchen is a dream combination of modernity and north woods style. A huge stainless steel oven (with a convection option) and oversized refrigerator make any meal possible. If grilling is your passion, a large, stainless steel grill sits right out on the patio.
The Moose, Perch and Merganser Cottages: Next to Blisswood Lodge, Moose Cabin is the largest of the residences. It consists of two bedrooms (one with a stone fireplace and King-size bed and one with two Twin-size bunkbeds), one bathroom, a kitchen and a very comfortable, vaulted living room with a wood burning stove. It also contains a washer and dryer.
Perch Cabin offers one bedroom with a Queen and Twin bed, one bathroom, a gracious, vaulted living room (with stone fireplace) and a small, yet very modern kitchen. A washer/dryer is also present.
Named after the beautiful Merganser duck, this cabin boasts a Queen and Double bed, one bathroom, a bar area with stools and comfortable living room decorated in the same cultured manner as the rest of our residences. As with all of our lodging, a washer and dryer are present.
The newly renovated Woodland Cottage is tucked back into the woods and surrounded by an abundance of woodland creatures. Daily visits from the deer are a highlight of this private setting. The Woodland Cottage has a large kitchen, woodburning stove, two Queen bedrooms, a family room with a futon and twin bunkbed and one and a half baths.
The Chapel and Recreation Lodge: Your accommodations at Blisswood include the recreation/conference lodge, perfect for social gatherings or just hanging out. You can shoot a game of pool, throw some darts or settle down in front of the large screen plasma television hanging on the wall. If your group needs to hold a meeting, the lodge also has a large conference table and chairs providing the perfect setting for a relaxed gathering. As in all of our buildings, there is always the opportunity to light a roaring fire and unwind in the adjoining den.
If you’re searching for the ideal setting for an intimate wedding, Blisswood boasts a beautiful, historic wedding chapel right in the midst of the grounds. Nestled amongst soaring trees with stunning views of Lake Michigan, few places can match the charm and location of our remarkable little church. Of course you could also choose to have an outdoor ceremony amidst the natural grandeur of Blisswood as well. Whatever your fancy, this is the perfect place to take your vows
