Kamaole Sands Resort:

We purchased our condo in 2011. Kamaole Sands is a wonderful resort and we invite you to enjoy our home away from home. For information about the Kamaole Sands Resort please visit the kamaolesands.net website. There you will find a map of the complex, resort amenities, rules, directions and tips.

Location:

Our condo is on the ground floor of building 9. We enjoy the privacy of this location. Off the lanai is a grassy lane bordered by tropical trees and plants. It is a very low traffic area secluded from view of other condos. The barbeque area is around the corner between building 8 and 9, and it is very convenient. There are three gas grills and they are cleaned each morning. Being on the ground floor makes transferring groceries and beach gear easy.

2011/12 Renovations:

We have updated most of the condo. All of the living area furniture has been updated to modern, comfortable furniture. New items include: queen sofa sleeper, recliner, laptop desk, dining set, patio set, 46” flat screen smart TV, Xbox 360, entertainment center, and ottomans. In the kitchen we have replaced the stove, microwave, blender, and coffee maker. The bedroom has a new 32” flat screen, headboard, dresser, mirror, and A/C unit. There is tile in both bathrooms, the hallway, and the kitchen. The living room and bedroom have laminate wood floors. (NO CARPET). There is new paint throughout and a new washer/dryer combo. We keep a full complement of beach gear for our guests. Check out the photo of all the beach toys.

*** 2014 Renovations:

A whole new kitchen for you to enjoy. New cabinets, granite countertops, and fixtures make this a five star kitchen. New appliances include a very quiet LG dishwasher and LG microwave. The new Samsung refrigerator is large and convenient. It has a bottom freezer drawer, French doors, and a drink drawer.

Why Damin Daling chose Kihei

Kamaole Sands Resort is very well managed and maintained. The grounds are beautiful with many varieties of tropical plants and features. The resort has a large pool with ample deck area for sun bathing. There are two hot tubs, a fitness center, ping pong, and Foosball.

What makes this condo unique

Off of the lanai is a grassy lane bordered by a row of tropical trees and vegetation. It feels very private and the trees block the view of the condos next door. There is no noise from the pool area.

Want a great place in Maui South Shore?

This was a really a fantastic place. It had everything we wanted for our first time on the island of Maui. It was easy to get to, with assigned parking, all the toys you would need for a great time on the beach. The resort fee included free mai tai's on Wednesday with live entertainment where we had a great time. Plus the place is very clean and all well maintained. I highly recommend this place to anyone would wants some beach, downtown walking, and the shoreline access across the street with beautiful sunsets to enjoy. Also, the owners were always very quick to respond to our inquiries.

Great accommodations and location!

We had a great experience with this rental - from the owners, to our stay, to the entire rental process. Would definitely rent again! The condo had everything we needed - inside and out! The outdoor equipment (boogie boards, cooler, beach chairs, etc) were a great perk. So convenient and saved us from renting elsewhere. We really had absolutely everything we needed. Both the bed and hide-a-bed were somewhat uncomfortable, but everything else was great. Quiet location, well kept facilities (inside and out), clean. We would rent here again and highly recommend it to others! Great location close to the beach too! Although it is not an ocean front view, we walked to Kamaole III several times.

Updated property average Value

Property is closer to the back of the property and a 10 min walk to the beach. Has a recently renovated Kitchen that is great, bathroom tile and counter tops are new in both washroom, but shower in second bathroom is small and dark and main bathroom tub is original with original faucets. Bedroom is at the front entrance, so some noise issues with cars and people coming and going from other units, but minimal. Lanai backs onto a green space, but also a parking lot of the Kamaole Hale, so some noise as cars pass the speed bumps, but again minima. Grounds were clean and well kept, Pool was average. Overall our accommodations was as expected. I would recommend this condo, and say it was well taken care of, nicely renovated compared to others on this property.

Excellent value, great hosts and very pleased

With any review context is critical. We have small ones, and don't like to sit still so having the most flexibility is key, that and getting the most value for our dollar. We also wanted to be very close to the beach while not spending a fortune, yet have accommodations that reflected a slightly higher end experience.

To say the least we were very pleased. The key piece was the very open kitchen that has very non-typical high-end touches courtesy of owners that really have a good eye and are making great investments. From the super silent dish washer to the top of the line fridge with water/ice dispenser (trust me that is useful), it had all any family should need.

The rest of the accommodations more than met our expectations. The master bed was good and the pull out was perfect for our 2 kids. We hear there may be a mattress upgrade for the pullout making it a better option for adults too.

The sand toys and other accessories were great, but think of the snorkel gear as more for trial to see if you like it. You may be better served by something that is specifically fitted to your size/needs.

Of the units in Kamole Sands, this the nicest we saw. The night we checked in there was another guest in the lobby complaining and wanting an "upgrade". Thankfully we knew exactly what we were getting unlike what can happen with other ways of renting units in this complex.

Overall the location is close to some rather good restaurants. Don't skip Kehei Cafe (looks low rent, and it may be, but the quality and variety were great). Also just down the road a bit more in Wailea Monkey Pod and Pita Paradise were excellent.

Being close to the beach was excellent , a short walk to the front of the complex and across the low traffic road and we had some amazing beaches with a great view, good snorkeling and more.

The complex also had nice grounds and a good pool with a separate kids pool and two hot tubs with one for adults only.

Parking is tightly controlled and can be a bit tight, but this will be typical for the island in general.

Overall noise was more than acceptable during our stay. It appeared the complex was overall about half full so that may be a factor, but this did not appear to be a party place so I would expect much as we experienced at any time.

We generally liked that it was on the ground floor.

For a first trip to the island we are very pleased with our value, location and the overall experience and expect to do it again soon.
