We make every accommodation necessary to make sure you will come back again and again!

Imagine your own secluded hideaway located in the heart of more than 400 acres of undeveloped forests, ponds and streams, yet still within an hour's drive of all the best that Maine and New Hampshire have to offer!! Hike, bike, swim, fish, enjoy the coastal beaches, local seafood, pick some strawberries or blueberries and so much more!!

Conveniently located only 2.5 hrs outside of Boston and just over 6.0 hrs from NYC, this hidden gem offers a peaceful and serene experience with plenty of opportunity to take in the natural beauty that will surround you. Enjoy the rustic atmosphere in this beautiful log facility made from lumber harvested from the property without sacrificing all of the comforts that you need. Take advantage of boating, canoeing or fishing in one of the many ponds, lakes, rivers and streams, go for a hike on the Appalachian Trail or on just one of the closer and less travelled mountains, take a short drive to Mt Washington or to one of Maine's many coastal beaches and seafood eateries....

From the first hint of spring through the lazy days of summer, Maine is an outdoor wonderland. You can explore the coast, mountains, woods, rivers and lakes by kayak, bike or boat. Enjoy culinary treats that can only be found locally like blueberries and strawberries to Maine's clams, shrimp and lobster. Get to know the locals at a summer festival. With 17 million acres of Maine forest, and 400 acres at your fingertips, you are sure to experience all the outdoors has to offer.

The wood cabin is the only rental unit on the entire property and boasts an open kitchen and living area with commercial gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, cookware, utensils, full bath, heat and electricity. There is also a utility room that is equipped with a washer and dryer. A recreation building is available equipped with ping pong, professional pool table, air hockey, foosball table, darts and archery in case of a rainy day or slow evening. There is also a horseshoe pit set up adjacent to the picnic area. The main bedroom has both a queen-sized bed and additional bunk bed, with 3 additional bunks located in the two other bedrooms. For parties of 10 or more (or those just seeking additional space), there is an adjacent bunkhouse house that can sleep eight (4-bunks) and is complete with its own fully functional bath (additional fees apply).

Enjoy on-site access to all non-motorized water sports equipment (paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, row boats, etc.), picnic and camp-fire areas, or outdoor recreational sports activities such as volleyball or horseshoes.

Wonderful vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5
What a remarkable place! Beatiful view. Peaceful, back to nature vacation. It was the perfect combination of relaxation plus lots of activities right outside the door whenever you wanted. We'd spend a day lounging by the pond and then go hiking or canoeing down the river the next. Ron is a very gratious and attentive host -- he thought of every detail to make our stay outstanding. It was just the two of us (and two cats) during this visit, but this would be a great place for a family reunion or a group of friends. The area is beautiful too. Took a drive through Limerick and Newington to visit Willowbrook Village; a step back to the 19th century. Plus we enjoyed a trip out to Ossipee for some shopping and lunch. We didn't get to visit Bay Haven Restaurant in Cornish this time around, but it's a great seafood place and well worth checking out if you're in the area. Fantastic vacation that we hope to repeat next year. Thank you Ron for making this special place available.

Hike, swim, paddle at your private summer camp

  • 5 of 5
This property is truly special. The owner, Ron, is warm and welcoming, with a terrific sense of humor and a deep love of the land---friendly, but not intrusive. We spent just a few days but can't wait to come back for a longer stay. This place offers so much: Hiking trails are just outside your door, and there is swimming, canoeing and kayaking on the pond. In addition there is a rec room just across the lawn from the main cabin, with pool, ping pong and air hockey, plus horseshoes outside and TV/video in your cabin if you need a little distraction in the evening.

A few things to note: the pond is not outside your door-- it is on the property, but the property is huge! We drove to it, but did not find that at all inconvenient--just a few minutes back down the dirt road--maybe a mile and a half altogether (you can catch a glimpse of Ron's house through the trees across the pond). There are picnic tables, chairs, swings and an extremely clean wooden outhouse--plus canoes, kayaks, a paddle boat and I may have spotted a row boat. Bliss.

Guests are expected to bring sheets and towels. It wasn't mentioned In the description--maybe folks are supposed to be told in the confirmation email and that was overlooked in our case. In any event, Ron supplied everything we needed (he even uses Arm & Hammer Free & Clear laundry soap, so our sheets and towels didn't reek---just smelled fresh and clean).

The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, open to the dining area and the views are lovely. If you have an inner Martha Stewart, you need to know that the living room furniture is older --- typical of many Maine "camps" -- and the main bedroom boasts some 70s style brown/rust shag carpet. Everything is quite clean, but those seeking a more designer-rustic atmosphere should be aware.

Overall, the experience was akin to having our own private summer camp. We relished every minute and are already dreaming of next year.

A lovely time!

  • 5 of 5
We had a great time at this property, there was plenty of room for our family and to invite guests to join us! The main house is 1.5 miles down a dirt road, very secluded, comfortable, with 3 bedrooms, nice views, and a good kitchen. We enjoyed the recreation room and the kids especially enjoyed archery and tomahawk throwing, which we only let them do because the owner showed them all the safety rules right away on the first visit. We also enjoyed pool and ping pong, there was always something to play if we weren't busy outside. Since we had great weather, we didn't use any of the games or the DVD player in the main house, but it was good to know they were there.

The only thing we were a little surprised about was that the lake was 1.5 miles from the house. We imagined a short walk, but it was an expedition to get there, and the lake is close to the road. However, once you're there, it's a really nice small lake, with canoes and kayaks, frogs, docks, and comfortable picnic areas. And no one else goes there, so it's all your own! There is a brook/stream a short walk from the house too, and Ron brought us kayaks and canoes down there too, so we took expeditions downstream as far as you can go (about 15 min canoeing) to a nice spot. There's also a campfire pit, and they provided wood, too.

Our dog was welcomed and had a great time swimming in the lake, walking with us, and even canoeing with us! It was quiet and the owners were wonderful, we saw them maybe once a day to see how we were doing.

I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away, it's lovely! Just leave us some time for next year!!!

Wonderful location

  • 5 of 5
This was a phenomenal spot to relax for a couple days. The lodge had a good sized kitchen with ample accessories, great views from the main window, and plenty of sleeping areas. The rec room was fun for all of us, and there was plenty of land to walk around on logging roads. Ron was an exceptional host - stopping by to show us some of the rec room activities and to share more than a few laughs. This is a great location for a weekend out with your buddies, but it would also be a great place for a family or a few small families with everything you can do there. I look forward to getting back up there.

Perfect quiet getaway place

  • 4 of 5
We wanted a place where we could smell fresh air and see the stars in the sky. We were well served with this cabin. Coming from NYC area it was exactly what we wanted; peace and relax. The cabin is spacious and clean we were close to a pound where the kids could swim. The owners were very friendly and accomodating and made our stay a pleasure. The area is fantastic for running and cycling and not too far from Ogunquit (1h30).
