Overview

Sonoma House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Syrah House (2) is a comfortably elegant, two-story contemporary home that sleeps four. A bower of fragrant vines frames the entryway and winds around the deck, inviting you to step inside. The first floor with its flowing design encourages congenial interaction and also allows for leisurely moments to unwind. Newly decorated with top quality furnishings that include handcrafted pieces, original art, antique accents and modern furniture, all artfully arranged, Syrah House (2) has every amenity.

Cooks will love the spacious kitchen with plentiful counter space and preparation areas. Equipped with a Wolf gas range, double ovens, large sinks and a walk-in pantry, it has absolutely everything you need to prepare a festive meal with friends and family or an intimate dinner for two.

The dining room, with its open plan, can easily accommodate six guests at the carved rectangular table. Gather some of the bounty of the region for your meal as you explore wine country. Sonoma Valley has world-renown locally grown produce, farm-raised meats and artisan cheeses, olive oils and, naturally, great wines—all available nearby.

Get cozy in the down-stuffed couch in the living room and sip a glass of wine from one of the many small producers that are making award-winning vintages in Sonoma.

Up a broad staircase is the second level, a light-filled expanse with vaulted ceilings, Berber carpeting and a more playful, casual feel. A media and recreation room features a big-screen TV/DVD/gaming center concealed in an armoire and two couches for competitors or viewers. A section of the upper floor is devoted to more active exercise, with a jogging machine, a Foosball tabletop soccer game and plenty of built-in counter and bookcase space where you can log onto the Internet. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

There is another generous bedroom on this floor with a king bed, done in subtle tones of cream and cocoa. You’ll enjoy the finest bedding with luxurious mattresses and linens that will enfold you in soothing comfort. The upstairs has a large bathroom with white tiled floors, a contemporary sink and vanity, toilet and a shower and bathtub. The bedrooms look out to serene views of trees in brilliant shades of green with the happy song of the chattering birds in the daytime and the relaxing sounds of the water fountain in the center courtyard at night.

The master bedroom is on the first floor—a 400-square-foot room with a deliciously restful king bed and gorgeous bed linens. The sage green walls are accented by aubergine-toned window treatments and the windows look out to lovely trees and porch railings laced with vines, filling the room with subdued natural light. There is a large HD Flat screen TV along with a seating area, table and a large walk-in closet. The en-suite bathroom has a polished tile vanity and stone tile floors, and a large tile stall shower for two with dual shower heads. A private exit door leads from the bedroom to the rear yard and patio with its rose-covered fences, wide lawns and fruit trees Hot Tub and Outdoor Patio Area.

The eco-friendly landscaping blends with heritage trees that surround the property to create a private setting. Step outside and experience the special feel that each day brings.

About Michael Marino

We have lived in Sonoma Valley for more then 25 years. We own and operate California Wine Tours, the areas #1 wine tour company. We enjoy sharing with visitors all our beautiful wine country has to offer. Whether you are chauffeur driven by one of our expert tour guides or self driven we have several great itineraries and activities to choose from, just ask!

Michael Marino purchased this house in 1999

Why Michael Marino chose Sonoma

The Wine Country has a lot to offer but when it comes to where we wanted to buy the decision was easy, Sonoma Valley is the best. Hands down!

What makes this house unique

One of the best benefits of the rental is it's size. It's larger then most 2 bedroom houses out there. It's 2700 sq feet and is very private. The location is also a plus, only 5 minutes to the downtown plaza and 5 minutes to the wineries.

Beautiful Property, Great Location

  • 5 of 5
The home is perfectly set up for two couples, each having their own space. The house has plenty of amenities and the beautiful plants, vines, flowers, fountain...together it is welcoming and lovely. The rooms are spacious and the beds are extremely comfortable. To top it all off, the location is terrific. We also worked with the owner to set up a limo tour which I highly recommend to other visitors.

Perfect Sonoma Valley Location

  • 5 of 5
The four of us (two couples) thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Syrah House last weekend! The house was clean, quiet, well-maintained and well equipped. The location was great for exploring both the City of Sonoma and many of the Sonoma Valley wineries. Also, the team at California Wine Tours did a fine job on the wine tour; Michael was a knowledgable and informative driver.

Beautiful home in a peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5
A beautiful setting and a gorgeous home. I went for the weekend with two girlfriends and we did not want to leave! The kitchen is well equipped, we ate dinner at the house because it was so peaceful and quiet. The owner met us when we arrived and showed us around the house. We were there during the earthquake (no damage), and he was there first thing in the morning to make sure we were ok. Cannot wait to go back!!

We had a fabulous stay at the hoouse - it was beatuiful both inside and outside on the grounds, was very clean, we had everything we needed in the house. Was also great location and very close to the town. We loved it and will definitely plan on staying there the next time we are in Sonoma! Also, Mike was very nice to let us stay in the house later since there was no one checking in that day.

Syrah House, Sonoma, CA

  • 4 of 5
This is a very nicely decorated, spacious 2 bedroom house. The property is gated and well manicured. There is an adjacent rental unit, but the property is set up to offer lots of privacy for the separate units. The location is convenient for exploring different areas in Sonoma. Sonoma Plaza, with its restaurants, shops and the park is 2 or 3 miles away. Safeway, Whole Foods and Sonoma Market are close by also. Overall the house was very clean, but the master shower needs more attention from the cleaning crew. If you plan to meet up with friends while in the area, you will not be allowed to have them over for any reason as the owner has a strict "no visitors" policy. If that's not an issue then this is a very nice place to stay.

Owner's Response: As stated in our information and verbally gone over prior to renting from us. Due to our County Rental Permit and the privacy of our vacation renters, WE DO NOT ALLOW ANY OUTSIDE VISITORS ON PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. So if you are looking for a place to have a get together this would not be the house to rent. We even make you sign a document stating the above facts prior to taking a deposit. As for the cleaning crew I will certainly have them pay more attention to the Master Shower in the future.

Perfect wine country destination!

  • 5 of 5
We absolutely LOVED our stay in the Syrah house! The house had everything we could have asked for and more, including wine waiting for us upon our arrival! Mike and his wife are ridiculously nice people, and once you meet them, it's easy to understand how they have ben able to keep this house rented for most of the year. Mike was available for our every need, but he was never pushy with his advice or recommendations. And I might add that he had some fantastic recommendations for wineries and dinner, some of which were just a couple miles from this awesome house! The location of the Syrah house could not have been any better - we were close to everything! We would return to the Syrah house in a minute, and we are already dreaming of our return trip to beautiful Sonoma!
