My family and I needed a furnished rental for a good 9 months and we couldn't have been happier with Casita Lunita. We have 2 young children (2 and 4) so we needed the house to be very child-friendly. It actually feels larger than it is as the layout is very functional and the front porch and backyard extend the living areas. The property was as described and very clean. We liked the personal, authentic decor that made it feel like a home. The location can't be beat -- it's far enough to buffer the noise but a quick 5 minute (tops) walk to be in the heart of the action on S. Congress, which is lined with funky shops, great restaurants and live music. (Check out Perla's for seafood, Lucky Robot for asian fusion/sushi, Hopdoddy for burgers and shakes, Botticelli's for Italian & the beer garden, and the outdoor bar at Hotel San Jose). But the greatest thing about our stay here was the owners, Tommy and Laura. We have gotten to know them very well during our time here and they are the nicest people you'll ever meet. Often, my husband and I will joke about how they really can't be that nice but we have yet to be convinced otherwise. As landlords, they have been accommodating and extremely responsive to any requests we've had. They have really big hearts and care about making you feel like a guest. Laura is also great with kids and has babysat more times than I can count. I would not hesitate to recommend Casita Lunita to anyone coming to Austin.
