Enjoy all the Berkshires has to offer in our new (2014) restoration and outstanding renovation of the historic South Lee Schoolhouse. Perched on a hillside just across the road from the Housatonic River and Beartown State Forest in the hamlet of South Lee, just outside of Stockbridge, the 1892 schoolhouse has been converted into two spacious and comfortable post and beam homes with all modern amenities. Your host resides on site and is available to assist you during your visit in any way you may need (including granting you your privacy!)
We are just a few miles from the Exit 2 interchange on the Mass Pike, making it easy to find us, as well as to use us as your home base to explore the area.
With 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths, the Schoolhouse can comfortably accommodate 8 guests. (We can provide air mattresses for an additional 1 or 2.) The fully equipped gourmet kitchen is open to two lovely seating areas, one with a fireplace and the other with a flat screen TV, and the dining area. The private patio, surrounded by lovely perennial gardens, is equipped with a gas grill and large table for al fresco dining. Families with kids and dogs will enjoy a large grassy area abutting the woodlands at the rear of the 2-acre lot.

Our super friendly yellow lab plays well with kids and other dogs. You are welcome to bring your house-trained, well-behaved pooch (sorry no puppies under one year of age). We ask that you not leave your dog home alone for the whole day, however. We can recommend a great doggy day care about 5 minutes away. (Our dog boards there when we go away.)
