The semi-private beach - with warm, shallow water, perfect for kids - is 50 yards away. Completely renovated in 2010/2011, the house has modern amenities but retains the charm of old Cape Cod. A perfect home away from home. The house is great for families/friends to share. The lower level, w/ bedroom, bath and LR, has its own entrance. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Description of the cottage: The main floor of the cottage has two sitting rooms (both with waterviews), a dining area, kitchen, TV room (40' TV), bedroom (king or two twins), washer/dryer and one bathroom w/ tub/hand shower (not en suite). The upper floor has one queen bedroom, one bedroom with two twins (that can be attached and made up as a king), and a small extra room with a single bed and a small bathroom (shower, no tub). The lower floor is not accessible from inside the house but has its own entrance, shown in the thumbnail photo of the house. The lower floor has a huge library with a 60' plasma TV, sound system, floor to ceiling mirror, kitchenette (sink and under-the-counter refrigerator, no cooking), bedroom (king, can be separated into twins) and bathroom (shower, no tub). All bathrooms are newly renovated. On the main floor is a deck, on the lower floor a patio, with a gorgeous view of Lewis Bay, a large outdoor shower, picnic table & outdoor Weber grill. The house comes fully equipped: We provide all bed linens, bath, beach and kitchen towels. The house is equipped with a video/DVD library, CD's, board games, cards, bocce ball set, books, beach chairs, beach umbrellas. Bring your own bicycles. There is central A/C and a ceiling fan in each room. The kitchen is stocked with staples such as spices, sugar, flour, plastic plates and cups as well as china, a lobster pot, two coffee machines, a toaster, and basic cleaning supplies.
Street parking in front of the cottage for two cars. More cars can be accommodated. Please advise Owner if more than two cars are expected.
The Owners live in the house next door to the cottage and are available should the need arise. The Owners' teenage daughter may be available for babysitting, at an extra hourly rate.
Very central location. Within walking distance are the small semi-private beach 50 yards away and Bayview Beach, 200 yards away at the entrance to Hyannis Harbor. Also within walking distance - the Hyannis Marina, downtown Hyannis (with shopping, restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlors and the JFK Museum) and the Steamship Authority Ferries, with boats to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Within a short drive are the airport, bus station, hospital, the HyLine Ferries, the Cape Cod Mall and the movie theater. The Cape Cod Melody tent in Hyannis has world-class performers every summer. The Cape Cod Symphony, also in Hyannis, gives concerts throughout the fall, winter and spring. Art shows and antiques fairs abound all over the Cape throughout the year. There are several great public golf courses nearby. Our location is the perfect one from which to explore all corners of the Cape, participate in lots of activities - or just relax. The Cape is heaven and the cottage is a little piece of paradise.
