The three sisters and their brother bought this beautiful piece of property after our mother passed away in 2007. We wanted a gathering place for our families now that mom was gone (we always gathered at her home).

Marilyn Fasani purchased this cabin in 2008

Absolutely beautifully built cabin on a spectacular building site- where Spruce Creek empties into the Moyie River. Nothing around compares to this place!

The photos do not do this place justice!

  • 5 of 5
As we said, the photos, while spectacular, truly do not do this cabin justice. The Moyie River is wilder, grander, more dramatic, and even more blue when you are actually standing on the deck of Three Sisters. The upstairs master bedroom with the French doors and balcony overlooking the river is richer and more special than the photos allow--and my wife fell in love with the master bathroom/jacuzzi tub. The area is lush and wild and gorgeous with many great hikes available. We originally booked for two days, but after one night we extended our 4,800-mile road trip by an extra day, and spent three nights at Three Sisters. We are somewhat of the "vacation rental pros" having spent wonderful days and nights at VRBO & Home Away Wyoming cabins, a treehouse over the Rio Grande, a remote rustic cabin deep in the Northern New Mexico wilderness, a historic converted jailhouse, etc., and we feel that Three Sisters must rank at the top of our vacation rental experiences! We shall be back!

Memorial Day Weekend

  • 5 of 5
Our time spent at this cabin was a slice of heaven, a sorely needed respite from the daily grind, and everybit an opportunity to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in Bonner's Ferry. From the moment we contacted the owner, we felt welcomed. Arriving late at night, we were extremly pleased to see that the cabin more than exceeded our expectations. What a beautiful and serene place!!! The accomodations were well thought out, very comfortable and inviting. The opportunity to partake in wildlife viewing an unexpected surprise and the views breathtaking. We were able to reconnect with nature over the weekend in so many ways and won't soon forget our stay. The owner seems to have thought of all the possibilities visitors might encounter and has prepared a notebook with suggestions and recommendations for your Visit. Her Hospitatality was above and beyond measure and will not be soon forgotten. The owner has covered all the bases, although the lack of kayak, or raft to float the river was the only thing we'd missed, an experience we'd liked to have encountered during our stay. I imagine there's a significant liability for this and certainly wouldn't hold this against the owner or add this as a negative towards them in any way. My suggestion to the next renter is to bring your own floation device if possible. We truly wished we could have stayed longer, and hated to leave and now have dreams of owning a similar cabin. For the life of me, we can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to live there full time (except perhaps the lack of cell reception or internet), although I understand a cell tower is to be built perhaps this June, or July.

Thanks Marilyn for sharing your cabin and accomodations with us. We hope to come back soon and would like to stay longer next time.
Over best best and deepest gratitude for your hospitality.

Elysian Fields

  • 5 of 5
We've traveled the world looking for special places to fulfill our vacation dreams. Our standards are high and our general satisfaction is rarely met, let alone exceeded. Until now.

This cabin was paradise -- plain & simple. It was remote but not isolated, well-appointed but not overdone. And Marilyn & family were extremely accommodating and knew exactly how to make us feel at home.

We fished 3 nearby lakes (successfully catching ~10 trout per day / per person), hiked, cooked with modern amenities, built camp fires, explored, watched all sorts of wildlife, and otherwise had a blast w/o ever really roughing it. So much fun was had that leaving was h-a-r-d.

Our only advice is to have/rent a raft or canoe so that you can unlock all the fishing potential of the area.

Thank you Marilyn for a fantastic time!!

A vacation the whole family will never forget!!!

  • 5 of 5
The Three Sisters Cabin was a fabulous place for our family to meet (Two brothers, two sisters and the brother's wives). It was soooo relaxing, sitting on the porch listening the Moyie river go by had me napping on more than one occasion (and I haven't had a nap in years). Marilyn said that we would be probably spending most of our time on the porch and she was right, coffee in the morning, wine in the afternoon, chatting with family and looking at the stars at night. The beautiful handmade kitchen table was also a great gathering place for the entire family. We enjoyed watching the abundant deer, chipmunks and hummingbirds along with the other wildlife. We went hiking around the area and floated down the river on rafts. We ate lunch at the Good Grief cafe a couple of times and the food was great and the people that ran the place friendly, we also stopped at The Bakery just north of Bonners Ferry every time we went into town for the best pumpkin nut bread, banana nut bread and sourdough, but get there early as they tend to sell out. Marilyn was a gracious host and her cabin is worth raving about, it was very clean and well maintained and beautifully decorated both inside and out, all of the gardens and flowers were gorgeous. Thank You for sharing your home with us, it is a truly memorable experience for our whole family. We hope that next vacation that you will still be renting as we would love to come back, but next time we will stay longer.

It was perfect!

  • 5 of 5
Just got home from a wonderful week at this wonderful cabin. It was a perfect week. The cabin is beautiful and immaculate. We only had to bring food, because it had everything we needed. We sat on the deck in the mornings and evenings listening to the river and watching the birds and other wildlife. We stayed in the upstairs master bedroom, which is really more of a suite. The tub in the master bath is almost as big as my hot tub! The location is perfect, 5 miles from the Canadian border and not much more to Montana. We checked out all the local hikes and drives and also went into Canada. I would definitely go back!
Thanks again Three Sisters.

Birds and Stars are equally abundant.

  • 5 of 5
This was the perfect vacation house, much more than a cabin. There was nothing lacking. Three couples would be an easy fit in this spacious house with it's spectacular deck. Situated on the river, right across from Spruce Creek, those wanting to relax can spend hours just looking at the view and watching the birds and deer. The humingbirds and waxwings were very active while we were there. For those wanting to explore the out of doors, the world is at your doorstep. The hike to copper falls was easy, and for more of a challange don't miss the Kootenai falls off of Hwy 2 just beyond Libby Mt. They are incredibly beautiful. Visit the wildlife refuge early in the morning when the birds are most active; it is just six miles outside of Bonners Ferry. We were sorry we did not bring a float craft to float the river, it would be a perfect afternoon. Truly paradise, don't miss the stars at night. They fill the sky from peak to peak.

As you leave Bonners Ferry and travel north on Highway 95, you will view the gorgeous Kootenai River Valley. Continuing north, you will view the beautiful forests and snow-capped Selkirk range to your west, and the Cabinet and Purcell Mountain Ranges to the east. Our cabin is located near Good Grief- population 1! Our cabin is down the road- totally SECLUDED with no one else in sight. Everyone that comes says the same thing: 'Wow, no wonder you love it so much here!' The setting is surreal- our cabin sits right on the Moyie River with views of the mountains all around us. When the train passes by, the silence is broken by its whistle echoing off the surrounding mountain walls. Great fishing, hiking, kayaking, and total relaxation- what a vacation!
