In 1805, Lewis & Clark described our Big Sky Country so well... "The country opens suddenly to extensive and beautiful plains and meadows which appear to be surrounded in every direction with distant and lofty mountains."

Welcome to Twin Rivers Ranch in beautiful Southwest Montana! Unpack your suitcase and unwind in the quiet simplicity of Twin Rivers Ranch--a unique opportunity to slow down the fast pace of life. Majestic mountains, winding roads, glorious sunsets. Breathtaking views of mountains and abundant wildlife. Blue-sky days & star-filled nights. Explore our endless trails on horseback or by foot. Bring along your camera as you experience breathtaking canyons, incredible rock formations, glimpses of native wildlife, and scenic ridge top views that stretch in all directions as far as the eye can see.

Twin Rivers Ranch is a wonderful place to host a family reunion. Enjoy the river and catch-up on days gone by. Take a morning walk to the barnyard to gather fresh eggs, splash in a pond made for family fun, take in some fly-fishing and floating the river. A bonfire ring at the tipis and a horseshoe pit provide plenty of room to play or sit back and relax on our spacious front porch as you "while away the day". There's plenty of fun for the young and the "young at heart".

Twin Rivers Ranch has knowledgeable guides available for float or wade trips if you would like private fly-fishing instruction. Our seasoned guides know nearly every bend and riffle on our local rivers. They will take you to where they know the action is! During your day together, they will lend you their personal expertise on local waters, casting techniques, proper presentation, and proven fly patterns. Not only will they help you recognize current hatches on the water, but they will also share their knowledge of plant life and wildlife. Their love of the outdoors will make your fly-fishing adventure complete! Our guided trips are a truly exceptional experience for the angler of any level of skill and ability. Please call us for our recommendations. Twin Rivers Ranch always encourages "Catch & Release" fishing. Need more room? Ask us about renting additional cabins at Twin Rivers Ranch!

TWIN RIVERS RANCH IS ONE OF THE MOST MAGICAL PLACES YOU WILL EVER VISIT. THE FISHING ON THE GALATIN IS OFF THE CHARTS ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE BIG BROWN TROUT.THE MAIN CABIN WORKED GREAT FOR OUR GROUP OF SIX AND IT'S NICELY DECORATED AND KEPT VERY CLEAN. GETTING UP IN THE MORNING AND SEEING AND HEARING THE HORSES RUN ACROSS THE RANCH IS VERY COOL AS WELL. I AM FROM A BIG CITY AND WOULD SAY IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY FROM EVERTHING AND JUST RELAX THIS IS THE PLACE. I SLEPT 10 HOURS A DAY DURING OUR VISIT. THE OWNERS ARE 2 OF THE MOST FRIENDLY FOLKS YOU WILL EVER MEET AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU ENJOY YOUR EXPERIENCE. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

Owner's Response: You are one of our favorite guests! Was this your 10th season at Twin Rivers Ranch? We provide the fishing, but you do the CATCHING! You've had great luck each year. It's always a treat to catch up on your busy lives and we delight in the fact that you step off the fast track for five nights with us, under the Big Sky, fishing southwest Montana. See you next year!

Tenth Stay at the Twin Rivers Ranch and Counting

  • 5 of 5
I recently completed a stay at the Twin Rivers Ranch with 5 of my best fishing buddies. It was the 10th time the core group has gone on its annual end of summer fly fishing trip to the Bozeman area in Montana. Although there have been several additions and subtractions to the group over the years, the one constant in the trip has been staying at the Ranch. The accomodations are great, and DeeAnn and Tom always make us feel like we are part of the family.

The house is located a few hundred feet from the Gallatin River, and the views of the river valley and the surrounding mountains are quite spectacular. Being a few steps from the river, there is easy access to fishing it. We always enjoy sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch in the afternoon and evening, while taking in the peaceful serenity of the area. I live in a big city where there is constant motion, noise, and a buzz. The only buzz you will hear at the ranch is that of a honey bee or a dragonfly! There is Wifi at the ranch so you are still connected to the outside world (if you want to be!) and this came in handy as I was able to send/receive pictures and video messages to/from my kids!

I would consider the ranch to be conveniently located: 30-45 minutes from the Bozeman airport, about an hour away from Livingston and the Yellowstone River, less than an hour from the Madison River, about 2 hours from West Yellowstone. The fly fishing in the area is world class with many opportunities to fish from the banks or to do a float trip down a river with a guide. There are also a few really nice dining spots (The Oasis in Manhattan and The Land of Magic Dinner Club just outside of Manhattan) that are really close and have great food. As always, DeeAnn is always a good resource for any questions about things to do in the area!

If you are looking to stay in an area that is full of scenery, wildlife, peace and tranquility and do it in a really nice log cabin style home on the Gallatin River, then this is the place for you!

I can't wait to go back there with my fishing buddies and may bring the kids out there next year now that they are a little bit older (11, 9, and 7)!

Owner's Response: As Labor Day approaches, Tom & I look forward to our six fishermen returning to Twin Rivers Ranch. Your sense of humor, sparring over the size of fish caught and the number of fish caught, makes us laugh each season. We would be so happy to have the opportunity to meet your family--there's a whole different perspective and variety of things to do when "the best of the west" is enjoyed from a child's perspective.

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful

  • 5 of 5
Two of us - avid fly fisherman, the best of friends since 12, held our "turning 50" reunion at Twin River Ranch. It was one of the most fantastic times I've ever had.

The lodging is stunning, and a model of sustainable living. "Cabin" doesn't do it justice - it's a log home, with a full-width covered porch that would be hard to leave if the river weren't in sight. However..it was. Yay.

Local fly shops were envious when we told them where we were staying - they said 'you may end up fishing there the whole time', which was nearly true. Big, fat feisty trout sucking in PMDs in the morning and nailing grasshoppers in the evening. My first fish was at least 17", and he made half-a-dozen 3' jumps. I could have gone home after that one fish and I'd still be raving about the place. (But it just kept getting better!). The first morning, I had a fish on while my friend was still tying his line. 8 more within the next hour or so.

It's off the beaten track. Good.
It's not a business formula - it's a real place that these folks have lived on for 22 years. Great!

DeeAnn came down in the evening and brought us a couple of fly patterns to try. She mentioned a spot (i'll never tell) with some lunkers, and an hour later my friend had a grin to match the 18" rainbow in his hands. Real hospitality. It runs on solar, but there's Wifi. If you can't imagine being off the grid...well...stay somewhere else and work on that imagination. Then come here.

My only hesitation in writing this review is the hope that there will be a spot in summers to come when we bring families and guitars and spend a whole week. Bozeman and the surrounding area is fantastic, but I'd reschedule the trip to stay in this special place.

Honestly - one of the best stays of my life. Don't miss it.

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review! Thank you for all your kind words. Our staff works very hard to make your stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. We feel blessed to wake up to the beauty of the land 365 days each year and we are so happy that you recognized the quality of this unique property as well. Much of what you see was the same as when Lewis & Clark passed through the area on their journey to the west. Please visit us again soon!
