We are a military family, so we've lived many places. The beach is the best of all!
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2010
We were searching for a home on the bay. But when we crossed the Bay bridge and laid eyes on Pass Christian's gorgeous beach, we couldn't resist!
The beach view is wonderful. The main house and cottage were built in 2010 in a designated historic area and meet historic codes.
The cottage was very nice. I was a bit disappointed that it was almost attached to the house. Of course it shows it in the pic but I just didn't realize. I didn't feel totally separated. No chairs outside to sit on. Only low sand and beach chairs. They mentioned bicycles but I saw none. The grill was there but no one gave us instructions. The shower and toilet needed a better cleaning. I found hairs. I felt sand on the floor and we had not been to the beach yet. The beach, town, and surroundings were wonderful! Quiet, fun and we will return to this area again.
Wonderful cottage. Set in a quiet setting, only steps from the beach and restaurants.
My family of 5 (6, if you include the dog!) had a wonderful spontaneous getaway to the cottage. Our children are young, so we are used to all piling into bed together and that is exactly what we did at night.
You enter the cottage into the kitchen, where there was a small frig, perfect for drinks and leftovers from meals. It's not a kitchen where you can prepare a big meal, but was perfect for snacks, and breakfast. Although, there are SO many wonderful restaurants in the Pass and Bay areas, we didn't WANT to stay in and cook. We rode our bikes to the park, walked to the beach every day, took runs on Scenic, and snuggled into the bed and the pull out couch every night with a movie. It was wonderful! We highly recommend Hook for dinner at the Pass, Pink Octopus for ice cream at the Pass, North Beach for the best food we have ever had and a bloody mary you won't soon forget, we also LOVED Buttercup in Bay St. Louis for breakfast and lunch! Such wonderful and friendly service everywhere!
The bathroom was well equipped. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer! Great water pressure, and nice hot water! Bed was comfy and great selection of movies and books scattered around the cottage. We didn't want to leave!
There is not a water view from the windows of the cottage, but as soon as you step out the front door, you see the water, which is just lovely every morning. Great stay! Highly recommend!
The Seahorse Cottage is perfect for a beach getaway. My daughter and I had a great time, and plan to rebook in the summer. The location can't be beat, as you're within walking distance to the beach, the park, and the core downtown shops and restaurants. Pass Christian is a beautiful town away from the crowds of Gulfport and Biloxi. The cottage owners are helpful but non-intrusive, and the cottage has every amenity you could think of. It's spotlessly clean and decorated in keeping with the beachy theme. Feeding the seagulls was a huge hot with my daughter, as was the clean, I crowded beach. We can't wait to return.
The views of the Gulf are unobstructed and include sunrise and sunset. Cottage is immaculate and well appointed. Owners are responsive and accommodating. Hope to try this place again.
We've stayed at this wonderful cottage twice now and absolutely love it! Owners are fantastic and easy to work with. Cottage is extremely clean and the location is just absolutely perfect. The cottage provides a really good view of the beach and the location is great for walking in the wonderful neighborhoods behind it. Besides not having a stove, and you won't miss it, there are all that you need to relax, read a book, watch a movie, take a walk, etc. There is a toaster oven for those that feel the need. We will be back, again and again. We would recomend a stay here to anybody and everybody! You'll love it!
New Orleans is a sixty five minute drive. Enjoy a wide variety of popular entertainment at casinos along the coast from Waveland/Bay St. Louis to Biloxi. Walk or bike the Bay bridge (2.1 miles across). Walk one block to the Pass Farmer's market at Memorial Park on Saturdays. Outlet shopping in Gulfport. Don't miss charming old town Bay St. Louis!
