We knew we had chosen the perfect place for our vacation getaway the first moment we saw the house. Walking through the door, our first impression was that the pictures didn't do its justice, and how beautiful and clean the house was with an amazing backyard that has a great swimming pool. You walk out the backyard gate and can fish right in Hat Creek. The house was decorated really neat with fisherman and outdoor enthusiast in mind. We were able to bring our Labrador retriever and she enjoyed the huge fenced in backyard. Ann, the owner was a very gracious host and ensured everything was perfect for our arrival. Plus, she made herself available for any questions or concerns during our stay.
Upon our arrival, we enjoyed exploring the backyard, swimming in the pool and walking to Hat Creek. When it was hot outside, the house was cool and we were able to watch satellite TV in the huge living room downstairs or laying in bed upstairs watching the flat screen TV mounted on the wall. What a beautiful sunrise from the upstairs bedroom. The upstairs bathroom has a very large Jacuzzi tub and was very relaxing after a full day of fun.
The kitchen was a cook’s dream with beautiful countertops, and fully equipped with anything you could possibly need for cooking, it had a very large cooking area and plenty of countertop space. Right off the kitchen is a laundry area with a huge utility sink, and very nice washer and dryer. The dining area had a cute little bar area. The living room has beautiful hardwood floors and a wood burning stove.
There were a variety of activities to keep us busy. Inside the house, we had fun relaxing, watching TV and staying cool. We spent a morning on the deck chairs looking at scenic views and then jumping in the pool to cool off. We headed out to go fishing in various areas; Burney Falls, Baum Lake, Britton Lake and of course Hat Creek. The Crystal Lake Fish Hatchery is a few miles away from the house, a great place to visit. We went to the quiet friendly town of Burney everyday and really enjoyed Blackberry Patch Restaurant, and bowling at Burney Bowl.
Overall, Hat Creek was a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. It’s the perfect place to relax and make lasting memories. This was the most peaceful and beautiful trip and I would definitely recommend this beautiful property to everyone who would like a change of pace. This place is a fisherman's dream!!!
