Whether you are looking to sun yourself on the beach, fish, crab, jet ski, windsurf, boat, bird/pony watch, shop or just rest and read a book, Chincoteague Island and Misty’s Oz are just the places to do it.
Misty’s Oz is a beautiful three bedroom, two bath carriage home with central air conditioning, located on a small, private cul-de-sac on the original land where Misty once roamed. Quiet, peaceful yet convenient and accessible. Just one and a half miles to downtown shops and an easy three and a half mile bike ride to Asseteaque Island, where the ponies and beaches are.
Walk to crabbing/fishing piers, a deepwater marina (Captain Bob's) on Chincoteague Channel and the trolley stop at Beebe and Ridge Roads (summers only).
While relaxing at home enjoy a beautifully appointed open floor plan, a screened-in porch and rear deck, all perfect for entertaining or relaxing with your friends and family. The home includes a 27 inch television in the living room with a VCR, DVD/CD player and surround sound system. A beautiful corner gas fireplace gives the room a cozy feel especially when visiting off season. The sectional sofa converts to a queen size sleeper.
The first floor master bedroom hosts an impressive queens size canapé bed and a 20” television. The room has a French sliding door which opens to the rear deck. Across the hall is the master bath and a laundry closet with a full-size washer and dryer.
Upstairs the large front bedroom is furnished in contemporay décor with a king size bed. The backroom is more traditional with two wooden twin slay beds. Both rooms feature vaulted ceilings, large windows, ceiling fans and cable television. The upstairs bath is located between the two rooms with access from the hallway and directly from the front bedroom.
Outside the large driveway allows for plenty of parking. The yard is beautifully landscaped. The screened porch is furnished with a table perfect for outdoor dining in the cool summers night breeze or you can make your own breeze with the over head ceiling fan. My partner and I supervised the building of our island home from digging the foundation to the last detail of adding light fixtures and flooring. We put our heart and soul into the house. We love to travel and have visited over nine countries and three continents. With all of this travel we have chosen Chincoteague for our permanent vacation home. We also love our three dogs and have built the house to be as pet friendly as possible. We love to travel with them and do so as much as possible. We want you to feel at home surrounded by the things and people you love. We hope you enjoy your stay and thank you ahead of time for treating our home as responsibly as you would your own.
We purchased Misty's Oz after attending the annual oyster festival for many years. We fell in love with the island's beauty, the friendly residents and laid back way of life.
We love the beach and walking the nature trails. The birding, fishing, swimming, boating and even surffing were also a big reason we chose Chincoteague.
If you are intested in experiencing all that a stay on the island of Chincotegue has to offer, please contact us and we'll email a copy of our rental agreement. The house is reserved with a signed rental agreement and a deposit of half the grand total.
