Ellijay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Just Listed!!!!

The owners have spared no expense preparing this mountain retreat for your enjoyment. With a perfect mixture of genuine antiques and modern amenities, CreekFalls Lodge welcomes you for what is certain to be a memorable relaxing escape. With something for everyone, this vacation home is the perfect destination for your family vacation or reunion with friends. It’s guaranteed you will have a hard time tearing yourself away when it's time to leave.

This custom built lodge features a well-equipped kitchen at the heart of the main floor, with both an island and a bar for cooking and gathering. The adjacent dining room opens up onto an expansive deck with a grill, rocking chairs and outdoor dining; convenient to both the kitchen and the beauty of nature overlooking the flowing creek. Also on the main floor is the great room with comfortable seating, a flat screen TV and a perfect view of the wood-burning fireplace which is surrounded from floor to vaulted ceiling with authentic river rock. A second screened in porch awaits on this same level with an outdoor fireplace and a six-person hot tub where you can soak away the stress of everyday life or any weary muscles you gain while on your mountain adventures.

CreekFalls Lodge has three bedrooms and three full spacious baths, with a king in the master, one queen on the main, and a custom built bunk bed in the basement with a queen on the bottom and an extra-long twin on top. There is a day bed in the loft with a twin trundle (two twins total) and a small loveseat in the great room that pulls out to another bed. In addition, there's a screened in sleeping porch with entrances from both the master and the loft. The sleeping porch has two queen size futons for tree house slumber while listening to the sounds of the rushing creek below. You and your guests will have no problem finding a place to rest after hiking, fishing and shopping through the North Georgia Mountains.

The basement of the lodge is comfortably outfitted for fun and entertaining. You will find a large entertainment center with flat screen television and surround sound, a billiards table, a massive wooden bar and a card table which easily converts to a bumper pool table. There are numerous board games, puzzles, card games and even a cornhole set you can play just outside the door. Oh, and let’s not forget… another deck. There are 3,000 square feet of decks overlooking the creek and the lower level is no exception. Chat with your friends and family in the comfortable seating area, relax on the porch swing, or enjoy a cold beverage at the rustic high-top table while the creek provides a soundtrack for your senses.

Though the surrounding area has miles of trails to hike, bike, kayak and explore; the lodge itself is set on 2.5 private acres of beautiful wilderness. There is plenty of flat land along our beautiful Anderson Creek to explore. Sit in the Adirondack chairs around the firepit and listen to the music of the creek, or take a dip to cool off, hike the trail downstream to find Garland Lake for private fishing or allow yourself to relax and be mesmerized by one of the many beautiful mini waterfalls along the creek. You'll discover quickly why the lodge is named 'CreekFalls.'

CreekFalls Lodge is conveniently located between downtown Ellijay and Blue Ridge’s Aska adventure area. Within an 8 mile radius are the famous Ellijay’s Apple Orchards, kayaking the Cartecay River, canoeing or rafting the Toccoa River, wine tasting at the Cartecay Vineyards, an easy hike to the Toccoa River swinging bridge on the Benton Mackay trail, a wonderful loop hike on the Appalachian/Benton McKay trails at Springer Mountain (one of the owners' favorites), fly-fishing, tubing, plus many more activities to choose. If you love shopping you won't want to miss the mixture of quaint, antique and modern shops and art galleries in Ellijay and Blue Ridge, or even the Outlet shopping in Dawsonville. Ellijay is the mountain bike capital of Georgia, and it would be a shame to leave your bike at home. For you roadies, you will enjoy the beautiful views, twists and turns along Big Creek, Doublehead Gap and Aska roads. You'll even find the beautiful Amicalola Falls State Park about 30 minutes away. The cabin is stocked with books and maps to help you find all of these areas very easily.

Other amenities: Wi-Fi, DirecTV, three flat screen televisions, DVD player, cellular signal, separate home phone w/ free long distance, laundry room, breakfast room / sun room

Enjoy your stay. You deserve the best!

About Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer

We are like many of you, very busy professional 'worker bees' who need more time for a relaxing getaway than we allow ourselves. With a passion for the outdoors and adventuresome spirits, we just can't get enough of North Georgia. Things we do when visiting CreekFalls Lodge: Hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail, kayaking the Cartecay and Coosawattee Rivers, fishing in the Toccoa, shopping in Blue Ridge and Ellijay, hanging out at Jilly's Pub, discovering the many waterfalls in the area, wine tasting at Cartecay Vineyards, visiting R&A orchards and seeing what our favorite youngest owner is up to next (you will know when you see him), lying back on the driveway and viewing the brightest night sky we don't see anywhere else, relaxing in the hot tub next to the outdoor fireplace, enjoying the fire pit by the creek or simply reading a book on one of the beautiful decks.

Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Jackie Vaughn & Ruth Meyer chose Ellijay

We searched high and low for our perfect second home and your perfect vacation spot. CreekFalls Lodge has everything we wanted and a whole lot more. The first requirement was that when walking out the door of our lodge, we wanted to feel as if we had just stepped out of our tent to a beautiful creekside campsite. Privacy, natural beauty, and serenity were not compromises. We found all of this plus many luxury amenities within the lodge and the five decks. And all of this being only 20 minutes from Ellijay and 30 minutes from Blue Ridge. It really doesn't get any better than this.

Spring in the Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was immaculate and the outdoor areas were a delight. We played in and around the creek, made 'smores around the camp fire, explored are hiking trails and relaxed in front of the fire. The local businesses that we would highly recommend are Mountain Valley Farms and North Georgia Mountain Outfitters. Visits to Amicalola Falls and Fort Mountain State Parks were enjoyed by our whole family. A wonderful getaway!

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Once we entered the cabin, the only word out of our mouths for a long time was "WOW"! I love the north GA area and have stayed in several cabins, non of which can compare to Creek Falls Lodge. The furnishings in the cabin were so inviting and truly made us feel like we were stepping into a treehouse paradise! Whether enjoying the sounds of the creek on one of the decks, relaxing in the hot tub, cooking in the very well stocked kitchen (including spices), playing pool on a rainy day, or sitting creekside at the firepit, we were in awe of the many details that truly made this cabin tops in our book! Jackie and Ruth were a delight to work with and made the planning process a breeze. We will definitely be returning.

Cabin away from it all

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was wonderful. You really feel away from everything, but are fairly close to town of you need anything. We throughly enjoyed the creek. We were down playing in it daily. Having a fire pit near the creek was nice. We took advantage of it and built a fire several days and roasted hot dogs. Inside the cabin was just as nice. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the cabin. It is well laid out. We played pool and cards several days as well. The balconies were fantastic. We sat outside and are lunch and dinner almost every night. The sleeping porch is neat. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin. We were impressed with how well it had been maintained and was stocked. We definitely hope to return again.

A Wonderful Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Creek Falls Lodge is truly one of the most quaint and beautiful cabins I have ever seen, from the floorplan to the decor, everything is PERFECT! We brought things along thinking the cabin may not have everything we needed but boy were we wrong. This cabin has it all from A+ cookwear to soft plush towels. We were very impressed. We spent our days exploring and enjoyed the apple festival and our nights playing games and lounging in the fabulous HOT TUB!! A group of 5 girls visited visited the jewel for a weekend retreat and it was everything we could have hoped for and more; we will be back again next year. I was also impressed that our security deposit was in my bank within a couple of days, great customer service from the owners, thanks Jackie for all your help.

Oh my gosh! Words and pictures can't decribe!

  • 5 of 5

Let me start off by saying we have rented a few times from VRBO, we find the owners tend to do well in describing their places...but this cabin (treehouse mansion) was unbelievable! From the second we stepped foot into the lodge we felt like we were home (the home we wish we had!) The owners have thought of absolutely everything, not one detail has been forgotten from the kitchen appliances and tools to the luxurious towels in the bathrooms to the stacks of recent DVD's and board games (even a telescope!). The furniture is beautiful and comfortable and just charming. I spent a good bit of time just admiring the art and decor and small furnishings in each room because I was so intrigued. The open floor plan with the large kitchen made family meal times perfect. The 3 separate levels allowed us to roam and enjoy ourselves with different activities from baking, playing pool, watching movies, playing board games. I can't say it enough, not a single thought was missed. We loved the 5 decks, made use of each one. The screened deck with the hot tub was exciting for the kids, the upstairs deck with the sleeping hammock chair was quite relaxing, the lower decks were perfect to step out on to remind ourselves we were literally in the middle of the trees like a tree house.

As for the property - we too were looking for a place that when you step out it makes you feel like you are stepping from your tent. The creek down below was perfect for my kids to climb through (we weren't really wanting a river for swimming, just a creek for wading and discovering) and the sound from it was perfect to sit on one of the multiple decks and relax. The creek and the fire pit were a little hike down (on the flatter area) but to have such beautiful views and a perfect setting, you have to be on the mountain's slope like this cabin is - we enjoyed the warm fire each night cooking hotdogs, making s'mores, and just having quality family time. The steps and trail to get to the bottom of the property by the creek were very well done (but not for the faint hearted!)

I literally can't say enough about this place, we will definitely have to come back when it's warmer. We want to find the nearby lake and we want to go tubing down one of the local rivers that we kept driving by. We did finally break away and get out to explore Ellijay a couple times - went to Reece apple orchards which was so fun, and we went to downtown Ellijay. So much to do, a perfect fall family weekend getaway!
