You are welcome to share our convenient, family-owned condo at the base of the mountain just seconds from the Zephyr Chair Lift. It’s only moments from picking up your skis in the locker room, walking out the back door past the hot tubs, locking on your skis and a three second ski down the access slope to the chair lift. None of the hassle of tromping on and off buses with your skis, poles and boots, your significant other’s skis, boots and poles, kids’ skis boots and poles, slogging and slipping through parking lots, wondering when or if you’re ever going to get to the lift. It is truly “the way you dreamed it would be someday”. It is ski luxury!! Exactly what is needed for a ski vacation.

If you want to avoid the fast food menus at the crowded ski lodges, just ski down the slopes and ease into your condo. Enjoy lunch on your fourth floor balcony with live entertainment as you watch the skiers come down Hughes. It’s convenient, private and features all the amenities of home. Great time at a great place

I stayed at Bruce's condo with my college age son and his friend just after Christmas. Everything was exactly as described, and more. The place was clean, convenient to everything, and very accommodating. It was great to be able to drop in at lunch and relax for a bit before hitting the slopes again. Then only moments to the hot tub when the day was done.
Bruce could not have been a more helpful owner and host. He made every effort to see that we had the best time, saw the most of the mountain, ate at the best places, and avoided all the hassles. You cannot go wrong renting from Bruce and enjoying his place.

Owner's Response: I am extremely fortunate to have so many definitive and straightforward reviews describing the positive attributes of my family condo's location, the "beyond the minimum standard" attributes of the "upgrades" and obvious investments of amenities to add to the experience of special time with family. However, I equally enjoy the working relationship with families planning their vacation and answering important questions, clarifying concerns and providing "insider" information about the Resort, places to go, things to do, "best buys" excellent restaurants which are within a family budget, and how to avoid the plethora of hassels which so often intrude on a hoped for prized family vacation. Perhaps it is this honest communication which McBare experienced with me which earned me the title of "Owner and Host." To tell the truth, I have never felt myself to be in the role of "Host". I have felt myself to be very fortunate to have been able to buy such a special condo in an exceptionally convenient location in a spectacularly beautiful place which I am able to share with prospective guests who evolve into friends. So if this is "Owner and Host" I would certainly recommend the title and the rewarding responsibilities that go with it. In effect I am able to share in a minimal way the enjoyment of McBare's experiences as he invested his thoughts and time in formulating a special shared activity which he and his college age son could have together. It was a priveledge to be able to provide a great condo, insider information and a location which provided the convenience and personal/private time with a young adult son. All of this without the "hassels" of hunting for a table in a crowded ski lodge where meaningful conversation is almost impossible. It's the best way to spend those limited private moments with family and friends. It's rewarding to have been a part of this vacation experience. I enjoyed the photos McBare sent me, the gratitude he has stated and his observation that I was a "host" who facilitated this time with his son. How different this is from the impersonal engagement with a marketing and sales orientation with the "canned" presentations and quick, impersonal responses to questions so the "associate" can meet his/her quota and get on to the next blinking telephone call or email notice. Remember, selecting a place for a family vacation is more than the rental fee. It's also a process of honest communication and decision making.

Wonderful stay

My adult son and I had a wonderful stay at Bruce's condo. The accommodations were exactly as described. Comfortable, clean, and convenient are apt descriptors, but really do not tell the full story on what a great place this is. Keeping our skis in the locker, and then putting them on and stepping out the door for an easy glide to the chairlift, made skiing in the morning, and returning for lunch before an afternoon back on the slopes, very convenient. We traveled by train from the Midwest to get there, and arriving in Fraser, and securing a shuttle to the Zephyr Mountain Lodge, was very easy. Our connection with Bruce began early on, and he was always very prompt with his responses, which took any anxiety about the trip away. From securing the shuttle service and restaurant choices, to suggested slopes to try (consistent with our varied ability levels,) Bruce's availability and advice were wonderful. For us, the best part of this experience was establishing a friendship with Bruce. We know that he will be very available and accommodating when we consider a return trip to Winter Park.

Owner's Response: On the initial contact David informed me his skiing experience had been on midwest slopes and he wondered if he was ready for big mountain skiing which he wanted to experience with his adult son. I assured him my condo was the type of place he wanted and I am extremely pleased that he found the accommodations, "exactly as described, comfortable, clean and thoughtful amenities with a location that couldn't be trumped". He has described the condo and its location perfectly and culminates his thought with the issue of "convenience". His family time with his son is a meaningful commodity and he enhances it by the easy access to the ski lift and the ability to spend his lunch time privately with his son rather than standing in line in a crowded ski lodge. Sales and marketing offices may feel imposed upon when questions are asked about places to eat and what are the best slopes for me but as an independent owner I respond to these questions with a feeling of shared memories and knowledge associated with a place I own and have many fond memories of. It's a pleasure to talk about! Family vacations require thought and planning and when these thoughts would come to Dave he would send me an email with his question. It did take extra time to answer everything but a trusting personal relationship evolved and it was also pleasant for me as an owner to know that he would treat my condo as his own. So the truth is there is a great area of experiencing for the traveler and for the owner when the process of communication is open and trust has formed. Even though I am fortunate to have a premier location and good goods for amenities, it is the entirety of the vacation experience and the process of working together person to person that counts. Sharing with Dave my "insider" knowlegde of the slopes, restaurants, rental shops and where a good micro brewery is located was like talking to a new friend. There was never the one size fits all impersonal approach of a sales and marketing shop where the goal is to grind out as many rentals as possible. The best thing about it is the degree of satisfaction David states he's experienced and his plans of wanting to come back next year. I have met my goal of exceeding the guest's expectations in location, the condo's physical being and convenience. So I'm very happy for both of us that he had a, "wonderful stay"! That's what I want, for guests to become addicted to a wonderful stay!!

Convenience Plus!

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Winter Park! This is a wonderful condo, and it truly made our stay! Everything was so clean, comfortable, and just as described. The personal amenities in the bathroom and the goody basket were a lovely, unexpected touch. After a day on the slopes, my children really loved the snacks and especially making a bag of popcorn that night! The kids slept on the sleeper sofa in the living room, which I tried out myself and found to be very comfortable. It was easy to locate the pillows and extra blankets in the organized storage closet nearby.

The location of this condo is the BEST! It was so easy to store our skis in the included locker and literally ski right out of the building. One of the days, I stayed back at the condo while my husband took the kids skiing. It was enjoyable opening the windows in the bedroom and watching people skiing by from the comfort of the cozy bed! It will be hard to stay anywhere else after experiencing the convenience of this condo. It was totally worth the price!

Finally, the best part of renting this condo was working with the owner, Bruce! Bruce was so helpful and easy to work with. Our correspondence ended up feeling like I was corresponding with and renting from a friend. He was so helpful and accessible-even e-mailing me to make sure I had received the key on time as it was being delivered during the holiday mail rush. The detailed information he sent me about the condo, the ski resort, and the town was incredibly helpful. I always felt in complete trust during my communication with Bruce that I was getting a rental property that would be exactly as described… and it WAS. Bruce accepted our payment in installments and I do believe the price was more than fair.

I look forward to visiting this condo again for the skiing convenience, and would also love to try it out in the summer. Winter Park is such a wonderful resort year round! I highly recommend Bruce and his lovely condo!

Owner's Response: This review is a complete confirmation of what I and my team hope to provide our guests, who are actually perceived and treated as guests, just like they were in my home. Without specifing it she describes a significant correlation between the location, cleanliness, thoughtful amenities and the honesty required in the communication process in formulating a decision to invest one's money and precious family vacation time. The premier location speaks for itself but she also experiences the thought and anticipation of a family's needs as to how this condo provides comfort, cleanliness and convenience with personal amenities and accessibility of extra linens and hot tub towels. She feels our caring about her family's experience which is significantly more than "renting a place". Without stating it she describes how communications with me, quality of cleaning, amenities and thoughtfulness of the extras we provide all intrinsically coalesce to form a great vacation experience. The review once again shows that we have exceeded expectations on all variables. The rental process is more than obtaining a nice place, if done correctly it is a process of working with a knowledgeable, personal owner which forms the trust that evolves and forms a type of friendship in the delicate decision making relationship of selection of the right place for a vacation. It is much more than being a "number" in a one size fits all program where to goal is to obtain a rental where all units are considered equal in the big sales and marketing rental business. My entire process is personalized because selecting a vacation rental is an extremely important and personal family decision. Yes, I take time to provide a great deal of information regarding the Winter Park area, intricacies of ski slopes and how to get around a major destination resort. It gives he guest a perception of the place so precious time is not spent just trying to achieve a personal orientation to the resort. I also do my best to formulate a payment plan that is responsive to the resorces of the prospective guest. Yes, it takes a lot more time than the programmed payments required by the rental companies but as one assesses it in this email, it is well worth it for my rental needs and the needs of the guest. All of these factors are important and it is inportant for you to understand that this condo can be an addictive experience. Note: she plans on a summer vacation in the same condo, GREAT!!

Repeat rental as good as expected

A very responsive and caring owner, Bruce is a pleasure to work with. The description of his unit is spot on - great locaation at the base of the mountain overlooking the Zephyr lift. The goodie basket adds a nice touch. We didn't spend much time on the balcony (very cold!) but the electric Charbroil grill worked great! The unit was clean and came equiped with the essentials needed to get started. Bruce is also very responsive if anything occurs before or during the stay. We will definitely rent from him again if and when we return to Winter Park.

Owner's Response: This very positive but "no frills" review focuses on the essentials of a premier ski condo rental. The essentials discussed are the facts associated with the guest's expectations being met in many areas. First is the working relationship which is an honest, personalized one where time is spent relating to being helpful rather than the "big business, make my quota" orientation of most sales and management offices of major ski resorts. I make it a point to be responsive and helpful rather than asserting pressure to make a reservation. This is the functional, working attitude of the team I have who accepts the responsibility of making sure the condo is clean, well stocked in the kitchen, has a welcoming basket of "goodies", has invested thought in the personal amenities and has installed other extras for guests. For instance, this return guest (which in itself is an exceptional recommendation) did not think of mentioning the investments I have made to make the condo more accommodating and safe. I have installed grab bars in the shower to make it safer, upgraded the TVs with flat screens and blue ray and an extra cabinet. The infrared grill on the balcony is a thoughtful plus to make it easy for guests to have the capability grilling their own meals as well as saving money expensive restaurants in the ski resort or town would charge. I assess all of these important areas communicate to a potential renter that my premier family condo is taken care of with family standards in how the rental process evolves, the quality of the vacation experience and the cleanliness of the unit. It takes more time than the "click here and click done" of the big rental organizations but it is the type of personal attention, concern and availability on my part that I feel the renter deserves when precious vacation family time and money is being spent. The confirmation of my personalized engagement process with the prospective renter can be seen in the fact that the reviewer states this is a return and that if vacation plans allow there will be another enjoyable and fulfilling family vacation in the future. This is what I and my team strive for: to meet or exceed the expectations of our guests. All this being said, I must inform the prospective renter that you have evidence here that my family condo can be an addictive experience. True to the comment of the previous guess, this condo was just as advertised! The owner, Bruce, was awesome to work with. From the first time I spoke with him he was like speaking to a personal friend. The condo was very well maintained. I was impressed by the personal touch of a hoody basket. The condo eas in a quiet location although it faces the ski slope. We had a very rrlsxin weekend! We definitely would stay again! Thanks Bruce, for making this a stress free weekend!

Owner's Response: I appreciate that Gloria has mentioned several pertinent issues regarding our working together which are applicable to the rental process in general. Her first point is to mention the fact that "trust" in communicating is essential. As an independent VRBO owner/renter I am able to communicate by internet or phone on a personal level with individuals who are looking for an appropriate vacation rental. I am not on a quota system where time spent talking through and explaining questions is a detriment to salary intake, so you will not be rushed or pressured to make an immediate decision. This is a family owned condo and I want prospective guests to feel that they will be appreciated and treated as an extended family friend. That's the reason that all of the reviews make positive statements related to the decision making process of renting our vacation condo. They also state appreciation regarding the cleanliness of the condo, the quality of the personal amenities provided for them, the thoughtfulness of personal extras provided suh as a "goody" basket and grab bars in the shower for safety and my willingness to negotiate a payment plan within the guest's budget. The importance of the location of my condo is also mentioned and Gloria states, as others have before her, that the convenience is unsurpassed. When I state my unit is a true ski in and ski out condo, that's exactly what it is and even though it is snuggled right up along the side the main slope on the mountain it is still quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Just what a family vacation should be. Gloria and Charles are two adults enjoying a well deserved weekend vacation and were most appreciative of my well maintained and clean unit as well as the convenience of the location. If children are to be involved just think how this type of accomodation would enhance your family vacation. The personal amenities, the quality of the mattresses, linens and extras such as the infrared grill on the balcony and the well stocked kitchen are all there to support your time while a guest in our family condo. Satisfaction Guaranteed!

Comfort and convenience! My husband and I took our college aged sons to Winter Park for a ski weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased with this condo and the customer service provided by the owner. The condo was comfortable even for four of us. We felt at home as soon as we drove up to the building. Parking was convenient, the Lodge and room were easy to find and you can't beat the location! The slopes and ski lifts are right outside the door along with slope side hot tubs, rental store, restaurants, even Starbucks. Bruce went out of his way to be sure that we had a great trip from the moment we first rented the unit to the time we left. He was helpful and accommodating and provided the type of customer service you just don't find, anymore. He was available and responded almost immediately any time I contacted him. The condo was clean and mattress was comfortable. The living room has a pull out sofa and large side chair, a gas fireplace and flat screen TV, a table for four, and a nice kitchen with all the necessary items you need to make meals or just microwave and go. He provided a snack basket and the basics for cooking and coffee. Fluffy towels and travel size necessary items were provided in case something was forgotten and the bathroom was nice and roomy. There was plenty of closet and storage space for boots and luggage and there was even a coat rack and bench installed by the door for convenience. Information about the area was provided as well. The location and condition are wonderful and there isn't anything that the owner hasn't thought of to make it a great place to stay. It's the whole package! We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Stephanie evaluates her stay at my condo with a "no nonsense" perspective, as any "with it" Mom who has raised 2 college age boys has to have. She quickly assesses the comfort and convenience issue and her perspective is that "it felt like home". That is exactly what this family condo hopes to provide for our guests. However, it does not begin when the guest arrives. Many times it is a month's or several month's process of contact between the family and me. I am open to answering questions, making alternate plans when all of a sudden things don't come together because of a snow storm or flight cancellation. The mutual process of working through an installment plan so the guest does not have to overwhelm the vacation budget and a thorough explanation of the condo's premier location and convenience are all part of the "feeling like home". I don't don't work on a "one size fits all" communication when I engage with a family. Each has different concerns and many different questions, all equally important, even the mundane questions of those who have never done "big mountain" skiing/riding before. The location is definitely a huge plus!! All families have commented on it and the access to the primary lift going up the mountain saves scads of prescious vacation time. Instead of lugging skis around or waiting for shuttle buses or putting boots on in muddy parking lots, you will have your own private locker room with your skis right there. The slopes are right out the locker room door and if you rent gear it is out the front door, just like the restaurants and everything else. For the money it provides the best "cost benefit ratio" on the mountain. That's why the mattresses are prime, as are all the amenities from the towels to the pillows. The kitchen has the provisions you need and the extras like coffee and the infrared grill are great pluses to enhance your stay. As Stephanie states, "it is a wonderful, great place to stay" and she is right. My family has enjoyed it for 15 years and have consistently improved it to make the "entire package" what it should be for those who are spending hard earned money, investing precious vacation time and looking for family togetherness. I try to make it "all there" for you and when I succeed I receive gratuitous reviews like Stephanie's, "a great place to stay, we will be back". Therefore, I issue the following warning: Be careful prior to signing up because this condo can be an addictive experience!!
