Ultimate Ski in/ski out Slopeside Mountain View

You are welcome to share our convenient, family-owned condo at the base of the mountain just seconds from the Zephyr Chair Lift. It’s only moments from picking up your skis in the locker room, walking out the back door past the hot tubs, locking on your skis and a three second ski down the access slope to the chair lift. None of the hassle of tromping on and off buses with your skis, poles and boots, your significant other’s skis, boots and poles, kids’ skis boots and poles, slogging and slipping through parking lots, wondering when or if you’re ever going to get to the lift. It is truly “the way you dreamed it would be someday”. It is ski luxury!! Exactly what is needed for a ski vacation.

If you want to avoid the fast food menus at the crowded ski lodges, just ski down the slopes and ease into your condo. The kitchen is stocked with basic food prep items, the beds are upgraded with luxury linens and the towels in the bath are super plush.

True to the comment of the previous guess, this condo was just as advertised! The owner, Bruce, was awesome to work with. From the first time I spoke with him he was like speaking to a personal friend. The condo was very well maintained. I was impressed by the personal touch of a hoody basket. The condo eas in a quiet location although it faces the ski slope. We had a very rrlsxin weekend! We definitely would stay again! Thanks Bruce, for making this a stress free weekend!

Owner's Response: I appreciate that Gloria has mentioned several pertinent issues regarding our working together which are applicable to the rental process in general. Her first point is to mention the fact that "trust" in communicating is essential. As an independent VRBO owner/renter I am able to communicate by internet or phone on a personal level with individuals who are looking for an appropriate vacation rental. I am not on a quota system where time spent talking through and explaining questions is a detriment to salary intake, so you will not be rushed or pressured to make an immediate decision. This is a family owned condo and I want prospective guests to feel that they will be appreciated and treated as an extended family friend. That's the reason that all of the reviews make positive statements related to the decision making process of renting our vacation condo. They also state appreciation regarding the cleanliness of the condo, the quality of the personal amenities provided for them, the thoughtfulness of personal extras provided suh as a "goody" basket and grab bars in the shower for safety and my willingness to negotiate a payment plan within the guest's budget. The importance of the location of my condo is also mentioned and Gloria states, as others have before her, that the convenience is unsurpassed. When I state my unit is a true ski in and ski out condo, that's exactly what it is and even though it is snuggled right up along the side the main slope on the mountain it is still quiet, comfortable and relaxing. Just what a family vacation should be. Gloria and Charles are two adults enjoying a well deserved weekend vacation and were most appreciative of my well maintained and clean unit as well as the convenience of the location. If children are to be involved just think how this type of accomodation would enhance your family vacation. The personal amenities, the quality of the mattresses, linens and extras such as the infrared grill on the balcony and the well stocked kitchen are all there to support your time while a guest in our family condo. Gloria and Charles are first time renters. I look forward to their return, hopefully many times over the coming years.

Comfort and convenience! My husband and I took our college aged sons to Winter Park for a ski weekend and we couldn't have been more pleased with this condo and the customer service provided by the owner. The condo was comfortable even for four of us. We felt at home as soon as we drove up to the building. Parking was convenient, the Lodge and room were easy to find and you can't beat the location! The slopes and ski lifts are right outside the door along with slope side hot tubs, rental store, restaurants, even Starbucks. Bruce went out of his way to be sure that we had a great trip from the moment we first rented the unit to the time we left. He was helpful and accommodating and provided the type of customer service you just don't find, anymore. He was available and responded almost immediately any time I contacted him. The condo was clean and mattress was comfortable. The living room has a pull out sofa and large side chair, a gas fireplace and flat screen TV, a table for four, and a nice kitchen with all the necessary items you need to make meals or just microwave and go. He provided a snack basket and the basics for cooking and coffee. Fluffy towels and travel size necessary items were provided in case something was forgotten and the bathroom was nice and roomy. There was plenty of closet and storage space for boots and luggage and there was even a coat rack and bench installed by the door for convenience. Information about the area was provided as well. The location and condition are wonderful and there isn't anything that the owner hasn't thought of to make it a great place to stay. It's the whole package! We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Stephanie evaluates her stay at my condo with a "no nonsense" perspective, as any "with it" Mom who has raised 2 college age boys has to have. She quickly assesses the comfort and convenience issue and her perspective is that "it felt like home". That is exactly what this family condo hopes to provide for our guests. However, it does not begin when the guest arrives. Many times it is a month's or several month's process of contact between the family and me. I am open to answering questions, making alternate plans when all of a sudden things don't come together because of a snow storm or flight cancellation. The mutual process of working through an installment plan so the guest does not have to overwhelm the vacation budget and a thorough explanation of the condo's premier location and convenience are all part of the "feeling like home". I don't don't work on a "one size fits all" communication when I engage with a family. Each has different concerns and many different questions, all equally important, even the mundane questions of those who have never done "big mountain" skiing/riding before. The location is definitely a huge plus!! All families have commented on it and the access to the primary lift going up the mountain saves scads of prescious vacation time. Instead of lugging skis around or waiting for shuttle buses or putting boots on in muddy parking lots, you will have your own private locker room with your skis right there. The slopes are right out the locker room door and if you rent gear it is out the front door, just like the restaurants and everything else. For the money it provides the best "cost benefit ratio" on the mountain. That's why the mattresses are prime, as are all the amenities from the towels to the pillows. The kitchen has the provisions you need and the extras like coffee and the infrared grill are great pluses to enhance your stay. As Stephanie states, "it is a wonderful, great place to stay" and she is right. My family has enjoyed it for 15 years and have consistently improved it to make the "entire package" what it should be for those who are spending hard earned money, investing precious vacation time and looking for family togetherness. I try to make it "all there" for you and when I succeed I receive gratuitous reviews like Stephanie's, "a great place to stay, we will be back". Therefore, I issue the following warning: Be careful prior to signing up because this condo can be an addictive experience!!

Love This Place!

  • 5 of 5
Wow, Bruce, the owner of this condo goes above & beyond. It was in immaculate condition, with little extra touches from a goody basket to great personal amenities. The first night we feel asleep in minutes as our heads hit the plush pillows & cozy bed. Then after a day of hitting the slopes it was great to let the hot shower water soak our muscles & then wrap up in plushy towels. There was a great amount of storage for all our clothes & gear; Nice size closet in bedroom & chest of drawers under the large flat screen TV; A cool shelve by the door to place our helmets & goggles & a great bench to store our boots under & put on in the morning. The location couldn't get any better. Just walk out your door to enjoy restaurants to dine in, shops to shop in, relaxing spa to get a massage in, & most of all, ski in ski out. The ski rental shop & Ski School are also just a few steps away. The view of the slopes, lifts, & skiers going by is a sight for excitement to hit the slopes yourself & relaxation to sit by the fireplace, sip on some wine, & enjoy. We booked this condo & our friends booked the condo next door. What a perfect set up. We skied together, ate together, hit the hot tub together, & drank wine together & still enjoyed our own little piece of heaven & privacy. Bruce was great to work with & it was easy to book our condo stay. We had such a great time & enjoyed our stay in this great condo we’ve already booked our stay in this same condo & our friends booked the one next door for Next Year. We can't wait. Awesome!

Owner's Response: Christine presents an enthusiastic and complimentary evaluation which includes all the aspects her enjoyment of my premier condo. The first comment is of the immaculate, clean condition, the personal amenities and the upgrades I have installed over the last two years. This includes new mattresses, the plush pillows, towels and all linens as well as good toiletries which cannot be brought on planes anymore. The "extra touches" she mentions are also important in that significant thought was invested in how to use the space to best advantage. That's when the decision was made to install on the wall a flat screen TV and Blue Ray with a beatutiful cabinet that would also allow space for boots, ski jackets and other personal items. It's easy enough when vacationing to let things get cluttered because of lack of space to hang things up and store gear but my upgrades invite you to use the space for your convenience. It's the theme of "convenience" that is the motif of my slopeside condo. The convenience to the slope, the convenience to be able to relax on the balcony and watch the skiers/riders come down the main slope on the mountain and the ease at which the guest can walk out the private locker room, clamp on the skies and "swoosh" down the slope to the primary
lift. The convenience of the condo allows ease of exit or entrance to gain the use of the condo. You just ski down the main slope and right into the private locker room area. That's where the excitement comes from for Christine and her friend who could have great times with a friend and yet each have a condo of her own which invites togetherness and yet allows for the privacy of which she describes. It's the best of both worlds and I am pleased to have been able to be a part of it. Her confirmation of this review is authenticated by the statement that she and her friend have already booked both side by side units for next year. What a great vacation to look forward to. It is as "awesome" a place as Christine says and it offers so much in making a memorable experience with a great friend where thought and good goods have been carefully placed in the condo to enhance the vacation. When you read about her enthusiasm you know you can count on a similar experience but you will have to be careful because it is well known that, "this condo can be an addictive experience". You have been warned by the owner and I will do everything to help you experience this same level of enthusiasm.

Ski trip heaven

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I flew from OK and met our son, who lives in Denver, for a wonderful long weekend of skiing. Bruce was awesome from our very first correspondence with him. He was very thorough in instructions for reserving the unit. He was in constant communication with me on all the details. When we ran into flight delays, he helped us with arrangements to let our son in when he got off the slopes Saturday, so he didn't have to sit in his car and wait for us to get there with the condo key. You can't beat the location. We come to Winter Park quite often, and usually have a large group and stay away from the resort. This was awesome being in the same building as our rentals, having a locker to store them in, and simply walking out the front door to get on the Zephyr lift, oh, and the underground parking!! The condo was very clean, well-stocked, the bed and even the sofa bed was comfortable. I've always admired the hot tub while going up the lift in years past….this time I got to experience it. What a great way to end an amazing day of skiing, with the best snow conditions that we have ever had. We are very happy customers and will rent from Bruce again.

Owner's Response: It is the involved personal touch that I, as in idividual VRBO renter offers to guests that the big rental agencies cannot duplicate. As Carol states, it pays off, especially in times when complications occur, like her delayed flight. I invest a good deal of thought and time in forming a positive working relationship. No prospective guest is treated as if they are on a grid with rental days across the top and rental fees along the side. I openly describe for them where my condo is in the lodge, location to the mountain, ski rental shops, restaurants and support structures for them such as aaccess to a free Resort Shuttle Bus. These are important factors that I, as an independent owner willingly provide for those involved in a decision making process of how and where to invest their vacation time and money. No guest has to walk up to a check in desk and take the unknown condo they're assigned. How fortunate I am that all guests revel in the location of my condo and appreciate how convenient it is to the main lift skiing out and the easy access coming down the main slope when they wish to return. It's the way is should be for a vacation and that's what Carol says when she compares the ease and convenience of my condo to the much cheaper rentals downtown. The cost benefit ratio is evident as there is more time for enjoyment when not waiting for shuttle buses and standing in line in busy ski lodges. I also offer top of the line amenities which Carol much appreciates. The mattresses are top rate on the bed and the pull out couch, the flat screen TVs, kitchen, and the bathroom with safety bars and plush towels. It's all there for making the vacation memorable and if a disruption in the "best laid plans" happens and I can be of assistance you can count on not being left to your own attempts at resolution. The cleanliness of my condo can't be beat because I don't hire college kids to clean, I have a professional team that knows what needs to be done and takes pride in doing it right. The condo is immaculate, it's the best location on the mountain, well stocked with good goods and waiting for you. To get choice of availability for this awesome condo you better pay attention to what Carol says, "She's a very happy customer who will rent again". That's the decision you will see stated on all of these reviews. Read the owner's warning: This condo can be an addictive experience and fortunately Carol knows the best when she experiences it! It's awesome!

A perfect ski trip

  • 5 of 5
This is my experience. I found the listing in VRBO and was surprised to find availability for what seemed like a premium location. I emailed to verify. The owner Bruce responded almost immediately. He verified the opening, and we set up the reservation. This is notable because we emailed another lodging on VRBO that showed availability. We had completed our deal with Bruce before the other owner had even responded.
Bruce sent me a wealth of very detailed information about the condo, the resort, ski gear, lessons, and physical preparation. He has really refined the information he provides to his guests. For ski novices from Texas, we would have no way of knowing these things. Winter Park is straight forward to reach from Denver. When we arrived, we followed the instructions we were sent. From parking to ski rental, to stowing our gear, to finding the condo, we had all the information we needed. We wasted no time figuring things out. The comments about maximizing the time we have to spend on vacationing really rang true.
We arrived to find the unit as advertised. It was very clean and comfortable. There were snacks for us when we walked in the door. The unit is nicely decorated with a back patio that faces the mountain. The humidifier was a big help since we are not used to the drier air in the mountains. The kitchen was stocked with all the equipment we needed. It was nice to have the option to make breakfast every morning, and lunch and dinner. I used the infrared grill to make hamburgers one night. It was fast and easy to use. We stayed at 2 hotels in Denver on our way in and back out, and this bed was easily the most comfortable. We asked the kids and they agreed that the sleeper sofa was like a real bed. There are 2 TVs with cable, and internet if you need it, but if you are here to ski, everything is right here for you. The ski rental is actually part of this building, just go to street level. It was open until 9pm, so we were able to get geared up the night we arrived. My kids had never skied, and per Bruce’s suggestion, I got lessons for them, and the adults. Lessons were directly across from the ski gear shop. Can you ski-in, ski-out from this location? Absolutely! We felt a little too inexperienced to try it, even so, it was an easy walk. I really have only one regret: we didn’t have more time to spend here. Thanks, Bruce, from my family. Your condo is fantastic and you really helped us have an awesome time.

Owner's Response: Tom has responded in a unique manner, reiterating his experience in chronological order while describing the personal impact. It creates an insightful view of a guest new to the snow sport of skiing or riding. He is cautious and wants an owner who is responsible and available to answer his questions and concerns. That's why he contacted more than one owner. Fortunately I was able to meet his standards of knowledge, availability and honest communication. I always present as much in depth information as prospective guests request and if the guest informs me that this is a first time experience I invest time in explaining many of the hidden issues which might not be thought of, such as the differences in living at 8000 feet and skiing at 11,000+ feet at 10 to 15 degrees above zero with bright sun reflecting off the powder snow bringing on a sunburn and dehydration leading to "altitude sickness". It might not seem like much but I spend time discussing options, based on the guest's point of view of where to rent ski equipment and how to register for ski lessons prior to arrival so one is not standing in line for an hour trying to get into a class. It's the same process in presenting what my premier Slopeside condo offers in convenience to the slopes and activities as the quality of the amenities such as Tom and his daughters evaluated the mattresses I provide. My goal is to do as much as possible to keep the focus on helping the guest use the vacation time wisely. I want the cost benefit ratio to be in the guest's favor, so I discuss the resort map in detail and helped Tom figure out the best trails for him and his daughters based on ski ability and personal temperment. It's a team approach trying to work out how the best time can be had. The location of my condo and the amenities I provide like the TVs, the functional kitchen, infrared grill, quality toiletries and the welcome basket are all there to support the guest and family in having a fantastic vacation. Tom states that his and his family's only regret is that they did not plan for a sufficient length of time. My condo's location is the best and allows for maximizing time for activities, I have a first rate team that cleans and takes pride in the results and I personally enjoy the interpersonal process of communicating how the location, personal amenities and the shared knowledge of the resort makes for a memorable family vacation. Owners Warning: This condo is an addictive experience

Just as advertised...we loved it!

  • 5 of 5
After reading the description of this condo and all of the previous reviews, we were pretty confident that we would be happy with our choice of this condo. It was exactly as described, and all of the reviews we read ahead of time were very accurate. I was especially happy with how clean the condo was. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the bathroom was clean and had very nice towels. The bed was comfortable, and our two young kids slept well on the pull out couch. I was worried that staying in a condo may be noisy, as we tend to go to sleep early with little kids, but it was very quiet.
After staying at previous locations in Winter Park, we really enjoyed the ski in/ski out part. It made skiing with two kids much easier. We were able to come back for lunch and rest for a bit before going back out.
Bruce was very easy to work with, and promptly answered our questions from the beginning. I was always confident that everything would go smoothly. He sent the key card and parking pass to us at home in plenty of time before our trip.
We would definitely stay here again. Bruce made our planning very easy. My only hope is that he gets a 2 bedroom condo as well, so we can stay there with a bigger group in the future!

Owner's Response: Amy describes how she engaged in due diligence when looking for a ski in ski out condo. This is certainly as it should be when precious vacation time and money are being spent. Most of my guests have perused the reviews in making their selection. They expect value for their money and it is my goal to meet their expectations or hopefully exceed them. There is the expectation of a clean condo, not only for health reasons but because it is going to be "home" for a week to a family with young children. Just like the premium towels, sheets, mattresses and other amenities I provide, it is to enhance the stay in this premier location right on the slope. It is accessible and convenient for all but especially when children are involved. To be able to ski in and use the condo when needed or desired is a tremendous plus over attempting to stand in line to find a table in a crowded lodge or to find a quiet place for some family time. This is the type of convenience that makes a vacation a memorable experience! It does cost more than renting a place that is 8 or 10 miles away and therefore less expensive but when all of the transportation time, waiting for table time, lugging ski gear time, etc., etc. it is much less expensive. When the cost benefit ratio related to valuable vacation time, travel expenses and the significantly decreased family time is included in the calculation my ski in ski out condo presents a much better value with profoundly less frustrattion than shuttling into the Resort from 8 or 10 miles away. It is a personal confirmation for me that Amy experienced a positive working relationship. There is nothing as important when planning a vacation as having the person on the other end sincerely invested in helping you understand the condo's location, the quality of the amenities you will be using for a week, the cleanliness of the place and a personal availability communicated in the transaction indicates that I will be there for them to help them resolve a problem that might occur when traveling on snowy, winter, mountainous roads. There are many arrangements I have been involved with where I have been able to help overcome road blockages and flight cancellations. That's the type of security one should expect. The word is, "Afterall, once you go 'Slopeside' nothig else will do". I'm looking forward to Amy and her family being with me next year. Owner's Warning:This condo is an addictive experinece.
