Match Point is a glorious Spring, Summer or Fall holiday destination.
You arrive on the island by rental boat or by water taxi from the marina just a five minute ride. You can swim from the sandy walk or dive from the dock, taking advantage of the warm summer waters.
Match Point is located on an island with a small bridge connecting to a smaller island making an ideal semi-isolated private playground for older children.
An A-frame cottage with spectacular views along with a separate double sleeping cabin and bunky with triple bunks. The tennis court and basket ball hoop are added features. Take advantage of this flexible and expandable accommodation on an island waterfront property with 200 meters of private shoreline..
There is a gas BBQ and a fully equipped brand new kitchen for preparing summer meals that you can enjoy on the balcony overlooking the lake. The kitchen has a dishwasher, range, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer with ice maker. In the wilderness but with some of the conveniences of the city. The TV is for playing videos, (no TV reception) a sauna, washer/dryer and two full bathrooms. There are some tennis rackets on hand, but for the serious tennis player you should bring your own. After a hot day, you can paddle across to the mainland grocery store ice cream.
WIFi internet connection.
The main cottage has three bedrooms: two bedrooms have King beds, and a third bedroom has twin beds. On the second floor is a playroom overlooking the living room and a pull-out bed. There are lots of board games in the upstairs sitting room for the rainy days. The living room has a Cathedral ceiling as well as a wood burning fire place. There is a guest cabin behind the main cabin with two rooms: a King bed in one room and a triple bunk in the other. Behind the cottage is a full tennis court.
Match Point is in the Kawarthas, on popular Stoney Lake, North of Peterborough and only 90 minutes from Toronto.
Carveths Marina with water taxi service, power boat rentals, and parking is the closest auto arrival and parking point. Those familiar with Stoney Lake might prefer the facilities at Kawartha Park Marina, a longer taxi journey but an easy and pleasant trip.
There are a number of islands to visit, one with community facilities and a country store. Close to home you might chose to relax and take in the scenery or play tennis on the private tennis court. There are two swimming docks as well as a small sand beach, ideal for small children. The island is easily circled by canoe, while enjoying some of the Canadian wildlife. Perhaps you’ll see loons, ducks, blue herons, muskrats, minks, and osprey.
Should you choose to rent a power boat, you might wander further by water. Stoney Lake, is part of the Trent-Severn canal system. You might travel to the locks at Burleigh Falls by boat for a restaurant meal, or to the locks at Young’s Point. If you stay long enough, you can enroll the children in swimming, canoeing or sailing lessons at nearby Juniper Island. And speaking about Juniper Island, don’t miss the weekly square dancing, the summer regatta, the mile swim or weekend movies.
The cottage deck is the ideal paradise to enjoy and take in a spectacular Canadian sunset.

We are sisters, with a family island history that spans 65 years. It is just recently (July 2011) that we were fortunate to find the perfect island property to enjoy and to rent, so that others might experience what we take so much for-granted. Our family is on the lake and close at hand, should a need arise when we are not available.
Spring of 2013 finds us the owners of TWO island properties, which sadly necessitates the sale of Match Point. Email us or contact our listing agent, Aileen Dean (REMAX) for pricing and further details.
We are what might be referred to as 'motivated vendors'!!
Good swimming, gentle breezes, protected waters, lots of roaming space for reading and relaxing and quiet times.
Beautiful west facing privacy for enjoying those 'sundowners'.
