Kealakekua Bay Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Located in South Kona, 23 miles south from Kona airport.

Very private setting with beautiful view of Kealakekua Bay, Honaunau Beach Park and coastline view.

Cottage is surrounded with tropical trees, palms, blooming flowers and coffee trees.

We built this cottage few years ago with lots of recycling materials, carefully sorted and crafted . We used old red wood water tank boards for trims, recycled windows and doors.

We chose oriental decor, using light colors on walls , dark woods and Japanese collectibles (kimonos, dishes, bowls and plates, tea cups e.t.c.)

Cottage has 1 bedroom with 2 windows, sealing fan and a closet.

Bathroom has a porcelain tile soaking tub and shower .

Full kitchen , large fridge/freezer. All cooking ware and utencils.

Hidebed sofa in the living room, TV/Direct TV/DVD player.

Private parking lot with motion light for late arrival.

Favorite of all our guests is a Tiki Bar with hammock and 'magic rope lights' in the evening.

You can relax there drinking morning coffee from our farm or evening cocktail after hot day at the beach!

Best snorkel , kayaking, swimming beaches right down below.

It would take 15 minutes the most and you are in the water!

We have snorkel sets, boogie boards, umbrella, towels, beach chairs and cooler for your convenience.

Local shops offering large variety of fresh produce, fish and everything you need for your meals.

Seasonal fruits such as papayas, bananas, pineapples, avocados and mangos can be picked on the farm.

If you choose to eat out, there are many different restaurants in close proximetries . Italian, Hawaiian, Pizzeria, organic bakery and lots of other tasty food places.

Farmers Market on Fridays and Sundays 2 miles from us. Many local vendors bring their produce, fruits, greens, macadamia nuts and crafts.

We, the owners are here to help and make your vacation pleasant and smooth.

You can always call and we answer your questions.

Perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5
We had reserved a week at this cottage. Definitely not enough time to take-in the natural beauty of Ocean view. Victorya and Mike are wonderful hosts of a stunning, peaceful and well-kept slice of heaven. The cottage has everything you need! We loved swimming off the Kealakekua Bay( nearby) with the dolphins. Thanks !!

paradise with fantastic coffee

  • 5 of 5
We recently stayed for 4 nights and LOVED every second of it. A previous renter had mentioned that the grill needed to be updated. They just put a brand new grill in and we used it several times. It is secluded, but close to the beach, hiking, grocery stores, and restaurants. It was well stocked and very clean. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and coffee for breakfast each morning over looking the bay. The view from the house was spectacular. We enjoyed the grill and outdoor patio at night. We could hear the waves crashing in at night. It was very relaxing.

Mike and Vika were wonderful hosts. They gave us many great suggestions for where to go and what to do. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was perfect.

Thank you Mike and Vika!!!

Secluded

Definitely secluded – a little hard to find and halfway up a mountain. Once there, did fine getting around. Plenty of room at the cottage. Grill could use an upgrade. Beautiful views from tiki bar right behind cottage. Best part was how close we were to Captain Cook Monument trail – a good hike down and back with excellent snorkeling. Mike and Vika were excellent hosts and answered all our questions about the area.

A Piece of Paradise!

  • 5 of 5
This being our first visit to the Big Island, we were thrilled to find we were extremely close to the best snorkeling on the Island. This sweet little house was overlooking the bay, and we could snorkel and swim ten minutes from the house. The house being equipped with snorkeling and beach items was so helpful!

The house itself is exactly as advertised, and very well stocked with everything you needed. It was comfortable, clean, and surrounded by lovely trees and flowers. The owners, Vika and Mike, were extremely gracious and welcoming, and gave us great information about the area. It is situated close enough to the town of Kona to reach easily, but far enough away from the incorporated area to feel remote. Fresh fruits, eggs, avocados and GREAT coffee were provided, and we could walk the property at our leisure. I wish we could have stayed longer! You could not find a place of this caliber for a better price. I have already recommended it to several people.

We snorkeled several times a day, took the ride to the volcano, did a Manta Ray dive at night, which is less than half an hour away, and just enjoyed the area. Even in February, it was lovely.

Thanks, Mike and Vika, for a lovely stay! We wish you all the best. We hope to be back before long!

Mahalo!

Retreat in Paradise

  • 5 of 5
This was our second stay at the Honeymoon Cottage. We love it here! Vika and Mike are the most wonderful hosts one could wish for, welcoming you to their big slice of paradise with their wonderfully landscaped property, delicious homegrown coffee, the best apple-bananas, strawberry papayas, the juiciest oranges, unbelievable grapefruits,.... suggestions, advice... The cottage is possibly not perfect for everybody, a little bit funky, with maybe a couple of minor problems (usually promptly taken care of by either Mike or Vika), very homey with spectacular views. The sunsets are unforgettable. Sweet smelling, gorgeous coffee blossoms outside the bedroom windows, tropical fruit trees and flowers all around the little building. We highly recommend staying here.
