We moved to Muskoka in 1994 and have never looked back. We have enjoyed raising four children in this beautiful part of Canada. We own and operate an interior decorating company in the Village of Rosseau, Ontario.

Dan and Suzanne purchased this cottage in 2010

We've been privileged to live in Muskoka for the past 20 years. We are very familiar with all of the big lakes in Muskoka. Since the majority of our business is based on those lakes, it gave us the opportunity to find the lake best suited for us, the most beautiful one of all, Skeleton Lake, known as the 'jewel of Muskoka'.

It is truly a 'one of a kind' property that offers 4 acres waiting to be explored, 1,200' of shoreline, incredible views, and accommodations for large gatherings.

The multiple cottages and bunkies allow families and/or friends to spend quality time together while enjoying their own private accommodations.

The Muskoka region is overflowing with things to do year round. In fact, it was ranked in the top 10 places to vacation by the National Geographic magazine.

The 2,500 square mile natural playground includes 8,699 miles of shoreline; 17 historic towns and villages; and countless waterfalls and lakes bordered by the Algonquin Park to the east and Georgian Bay Islands National Park to the west. Here is just a small sample of some of the region’s activities. For even more ideas and information, Muskoka has to offer.

- Rosseau Market: The Village of Rosseau which is just 10-15 minutes away hosts a Farmer's Market every Friday in the summer months down at the waterfront. Enjoy live music as you shop around for organic produce, baked goods, smoked meats, specialty cheeses and local arts and crafts.

- The Segwun: Board North America's oldest hand-fired operating steamship, the R.M.S. Segwun, built in 1887 and restored in 1974. It is the recognized symbol of Muskoka.

- Golfing: The cottage is within easy driving range of multiple world class golf courses. Here are a few of our favorites courses:

*The Rock, designed by Nick Faldo.

*Muskoka Bay Club, awarded by Golf Digest magazine as Canada's best new golf course 2007.

*Diamond in the Ruff, a 9-hole course with scenery that at times looks like a botanical garden.

*Rocky Crest Golf Resort. An 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Thomas McBroom, ranked at No. 4 in Ontario’s best courses.

- Muskoka Lakes Winery: Working only with fruit native to Muskoka, the winery now boasts a range of award winning wines from dry to dessert. Take part in a Signature Canadian Experience as you follow cranberries on a guided journey from peat bog to delicious wine!

- Windermere House: The Windermere House is a historic hotel and resort located in Windermere, Ontario, only a 15-20 minute drive from the cottage. It is known as The Lady of the Lakes. It was built in 1870 in Victorian style, originally as a boarding house. You can enjoy a day at Sanctuary Spa or eating in one of the 3 restaurants that the Windermere House has to offer.
