We had a totally awesome family retreat with our kids and their kids. The location is super-right next to the water, lots of grass and shade trees, play ground and protected swimming area with an adaquate beach. This location worked great for a group with small kids because all that was within a short walk. The house was amazingly stocked with plates, silverware, etc but way beyond with pool and beach toys, kayak, 4 bikes, life jackets, games and tons of toys for the little ones.
We traveled with 7 adults and 5 children. This home accommodated all of us very well. The pictures doesn't fully give the home justice, it is much bigger. The home owners have thought of everything that vacationers could possibly need and want during there stay and they have provided it. From fishing equipment, kayaks, life vest and more. The pool is an added bonus. The property is well maintained and the owner is always available needed. Great vacation, my family and I had a great time.
This property was everything as described and more. It met all our needs and offered many lovely extras. The house was immaculate and spacious. I especially appreciated the Galley with the modern appliances that worked beautifully. Preparing meals was a pleasure. And for the television aficionado, there is a large flat screen in the GR as well as a tv in the DR/Den. The front windows' bay view is spectacular with amazing changes in lighting throughout the day and evening. Memorable walks on the beach along with the children's playground and grassy areas for recreation are within steps, not to mention the large yard and protective fenced area around the house. The neighborhood is quiet with only the occasional jogger or parent strolling their little one. Convenience stores, shopping, casual and fine dining are in close proximity. I and my family who joined me there highly recommend this property. Kudos to the owner!
My old college friends and I had such a great experience at Chip's house over a drizzly weekend in October. The home was huge, and it had towels, sheets, and bed space for everyone in our party of 12. The main living room was great, too, because it was gigantic and gave us tons of space for group conversations, which was great since it had been over two years since our last reunion. It also had a fun collection of movies (we maaay have stayed up until 3am watching Harry Potter on the first night) and games, not to mention basic kitchen needs like coffee filters, salt, oil. It was so nice to not have to go buy weekend supplies just to use them three times. Chip left the house in amazingly clean condition, and it was a pleasure to move into for a few days.
The beach was beautiful in the autumn haze. It felt like we were in a real-life version of Moonrise Kingdom or some other overcast indie movie. When the rain passed on our final day, though, the water and sky were both brilliant blue and totally gorgeous. A bunch of the guys went swimming, which was funny because the water isn't all that deep (mostly about 3 ft. everywhere). The actual sandy part of the beach is super skinny -- only about 10 ft of shore -- but it was great to walk up and down the beach and sit by the water.
Overall, we had a great experience at the house -- and we headed into town a couple times, too, which was fun. I'd recommend The Thai Kitchen in Edgewater for cheap, yummy food if you need a last minute place! And you're only a short drive from downtown Annapolis, which was a great spot for our parting dinner. Definitely give Bonny Marlin a shot!
The house was absolutely perfect and just what I was looking for to celebrate my friends bachelorette. The pictures do not do it justice! There was just enough room for everyone (11 women) and it had all the supplies we needed. It was a little chilly so only a few of us used the pool. It was clean and very relaxing to sit by. The pool shed even had rafts and pool toys if needed. A great place to sit in the sun and open presents. We took long walks on the beach (it looks like people sometimes have fires on the beach) and had deer come into the yard at night! The view from the great room of all the sailboats in the morning was amazing!!! The neighborhood was quite and friendly, and the house was easy to find. The owner was very easy to work with and willing to answer any questions. Would definitely visit again!
