The Lodge at Camelback (Also known as the Swiss Lodge)

The Pocono Swiss Lodge is a stunning contemporary vacation home nestled in the woods for privacy and romance yet less than 10 minutes from the Camelbeach waterpark or Tannersville Crossroads Outlet mall. The Lodge is a single family house (not a townhouse) on just under an acre of very private wooded land. Right next to the hot tub is a covered pavilion that is great for picnics.

Note to all our guests - we ONLY accept payment through the HomeAway payment system. NEVER accept any offer from someone who requests you pay some other way.

The house has a huge great room surrounding a massive stone fireplace.. It includes 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining room, living room, and 2 full bathrooms. In the winter, you can look out over the lights on the Camelback slopes from the deck or the dining room windows. Cable TV and free WiFi is included.

Occupancy / Age Limits:

** Maximum 8 adults (16 or older)

** Maximum 10 people total (at least 2 are under 16 years old)

** We DO rent to groups under 25 years old, but limit group size to 6 people and require extra insurance.

One important note - Swiss House Lodge is NOT a party house.

If you're looking for a place to party 'till you puke - this isn't it. We know that every so often one person in a group will go a bit overboard, but if your intent is to bring people who will binge drink, please find another house. Payment for damage to the house is the renter's responsibility. Smoking or drug use in the house may also result in forfeiture of your complete damage deposit.

My wife and I personally manage the house, from taking reservations to cleaning the house ourselves between each guest. As you can probably tell from the reviews, we want you to feel warm and comfortable when you visit, as if you were staying at the home of a close friend. And we expect our guests to treat the house that same way.

Why is it called Swiss House Lodge?: We named our vacation homes after a lodge we stayed in many years ago - it was warm and inviting, and had a spirit of relaxation and peace. We aim to provide that same feeling of peace and tranquility in our vacation homes.

    The Swiss Lodge is not a crazy party house. If there is something you wouldn't do at home, please don't do it here. We clean the house ourselves and do our own repairs even though we work full time, so time is the most important thing to us. People who leave the house a mess are showing personal disrespect for the owners. If your friends include Mayhem and Destruction, please don't bring them along.

    Check in is 4PM, check out is Noon

    Sunday check ins are 7PM
    Friday check outs are 9AM
    (We need time to clean before and after our typical weekend guests)

    2 night minimum.
    Weekly rentals cannot start & end on a Saturday unless we charge for 2 weekends.
  • The renter must be at least 21

    The person signing the lease must accompany the group at the house at all times.

    We ARE willing to rent to groups 21-25 years old, but we limit group size to no more than 6 people and also require that the renter purchase HomeAway's accidental damage insurance.
    Families with children may be exempt from this requirement - please call to check the specifics.

    Reservation Deposit Policy:

    50% of rental and cleaning fee due at time of reservation
    Remainder at least 30 days before check-in date.

    Signed contract must be faxed / emailed back to complete reservation
    All payments made online through HomeAway Guest Payment System

    Damage Deposit Policy:
    $500 Damage Deposit due week of arrival. Refunded in full if no damage or unusual fees

Great house in an a quiet, private setting

Our stay at this house was our first time using HomeAway, so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. I'm happy to say we were immediately put at ease by the owners Tom & Lisa, who answered all our questions before we booked, during the booking process, and afterwards as well.
As for the house, it's located on a private lot, a good distance away from the neighbors' houses. Also, the main living area on the 1st floor is wide open with a beautiful fireplace and comfy couches. We also utilized the kitchen, which was more than adequate, to cook several meals during our stay. The bedrooms (3) had huge, comfortable beds, with one bedroom having a view of the slopes at Camelback.
The property description was definitely accurate and we plan on coming back next season. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay.

Perfect Stay

This is our second stay in one of Tom and Lisa's home (first at the Swiss Lodge.)

First of all, doing business with Tom is a pleasure. Tom simply is always available to answer questions, provide plenty information about the area, and makes sure your trip will be enjoyable and stress free. Furthermore, the cleanliness of Tom and Lisa's home meets a standard of perfection. With that said, we are comfortable staying in any house they have to offer; it is sure to be a clean, safe and enjoyable vacation.

Likewise, the Swiss Lodge is a beautiful home privately set in the woods. This house, filled with character, has plenty for all to do. My group enjoyed the air hockey table, board games and cards, and fireplace and large television. Everything on the one floor allows everyone to have space, yet share time together. Outside we took advantage of the jacuzzi and grill. Every appliance works well and, as said before, is well cared for and clean! Finally, seeing Camelback all lit up at night is just an added bonus. (Oh yea, if you care to leave this gem of a house, skiing is right around the corner!)

My family and friends are all thrilled to have come across this home. It is nice to know that there is a house we can find to get away from it all for a few days. The fact that the owners are such a pleasure to work with is a bonus that is (unfortunately) not always a guarantee. Thanks again to Tom and Lisa for an unbelievable job from start to finish!

We're glad you got to try the Lodge this time. We found this house in early 2012 and fell in love with its layout and proximity to Camelback. We spent the spring and summer getting it ready for guests. As you know from our Swiss Orchard house, Lisa and I really like to put ourselves into the houses we offer to vacation guests. This house forced me (Tom) to get over my fear of heights as we painted the whole exterior by hand, cut down the trees for the parking area, and turned the old wood storage area into a covered pavilion for picnicking. Lisa's touches are all through the house, from all the repainting of the trimwork (the wood was SOOOO thirsty) to the pictures and sayings on the walls. We hope that you felt the love that we put into the house as we prepared it for guests!

We also appreciate that you noticed that we're sticklers for making the house nice and clean for guests. Lisa really likes making the beds up so that people feel special when they're ready to call it a night, while I (Tom) make sure that the kitchen, bathrooms, and the rest of the house are completely cleaned after each set of guests leave. Truth be known - our vacation houses are far cleaner and more tidy than our own!

Once again, thank you for being a returning guest. We're glad our houses make you family feel at home!

Great house for families

We went with 3 adults and 4 children and the house was great. It was super clean and had everything we needed. The bonus was being so close to Camelback. I will definitely had back over the summer to use the water park.
Owner's Response: We're glad you guys had a great time. We noticed that you were able to take advantage of the fireplace while you stayed at the Lodge - this kind of weather makes coming back from the slopes and making a fire in the fireplace a really nice way to enjoy the evening.

We also really appreciate how wonderfully straightened up you left the house - especially the kitchen. It's always nice to come in after guests check out and know that we'll be able to quickly clean everything for the next set of guests. The extra 10 minutes that guests spend putting dishes in the dishwasher and getting it started before they leave saves us so much time. Awesome weekend

This was one of the best weekend getaway houses we've stayed at! All utilities and everything you possibly need was provided for us by Tom & Lisa. It was very cozy and well furnished and the house was beautiful as well. It only took about 2 hours to get here from NYC so the travelling distance was great. Camelback ski mtn was only about 5 minutes away which was great because that's where we went on saturday to snowboard. Supermarket for last minute items was super closeby! House even had a hot tub , which the guys enjoyed. We hope to rent a summer home when it gets warmer to enjoy outdoor activities nearby! Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

Girls getaway

This house was awesome! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everyone kept talking about how rustic and unique the house was. It was exactly what we were looking for in a mountain getaway! Also its a great location to many different activities. Breweries and rope courses was our plan for the weekend and we did it all. Thank you to the wonderful homeowners for all the info provided before our arrival date about the house and surrounding area activities.
