This is a wonderful classic up-north chalet located in the Shanty Creek resort. You can ski, snowshoe and snowmobile all winter and golf, boat, swim all summer! You can do it all and then come back to the comfort of the large chalet. There are 4 bedrooms - including a large master with its own private bath on the top floor and three bedrooms and full bath in the lower level. The kitchen, living/dining areas flow together with a wonderful gas fireplace as the centerpiece. The deck is a wonderful place to hang out on a warm summer night. There is a full laundry room, cable and everything you'll need for a wonderful week or weekend with your family and friends.
The chalet has loads of character - even a spiral staircase - and includes all the linens, dishes, a garage and parking. You won't find many chalets this clean and comfortable for rent - and - you can even bring your best friend (Dogs) with you!
Shanty and surrounding area: Fun is always in season. Golf in the summer, skiing in the winter and great restaurants and fun activities all year long are what brings people back year after year to Northern Michigan. In addition to all that Shanty Creek Resort offers the surrounding area is full of opportunities to experience the great outdoors: Boating and kayaking trips along the Chain of Lakes can make for a weeklong adventure through the 78-mile system or daytrips through the 1,000 acre Grass River Natural Area near Bellaire. World class blue ribbon trout rivers are only a short drive. In addition to boating and biking, fair weather beckons with opportunities to swim, fish, golf, hike and horseback riding. Fall puts on a glorious color show and is a good time for driving tours, and visits to the local wineries. When the snow arrives, it's time for skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
Bellaire and other close cities: The town of Bellaire is only minutes away for additional restaurants, grocery store, banks, micro brewery, theatre, movie rental and shopping. In addition, you are only a short drive to some of the most beautiful lakes and rivers in northern Michigan. Riverside marina rents boats and makes for a wonderful way to experience the Chain of Lakes. If you find time to go exploring, you are only 30-40 minutes from Charlevoix, Petoskey and Traverse City. Shop, go to the casinos, fish, boat on beautiful Torch Lake, sail in the Bay, go to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Bellaire has wonderful restaurants, quaint shopping and you'll find a grocery store and some specialty food shops to stock up your condo and cook a great meal.
