Georgetown Cabin Rental Photos and Description

5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms,1 half bathroom, sleeps 12

What makes Lagunita Lake House special? The cabin was originally built in 1930; you can still see the logs they used to support the roof and the beautiful quartz fireplace that is the focal point in the cozy livingroom. It was updated in the 90's and received a fresh coat of paint last summer. There are actually 5 buildings on the property: Main Cabin, Bunkhouse#1, Bunkhouse#2, The Boat House, and The Garage. They all have a lot of charm and quaintness in their own way and they all have a Lakeside view. The most unique feature of 'Lagunita' is definetly the setting...It sit's upon a beautiful little lake in the heart of the Sierra Nevada...surrounded by old growth ceder, pine, and madrone trees. There is a waterfall on the right side of the cabin that run's year round, imagine yourself relaxing on the deck or in the hamock with the tranquil sound of the water steadily washing over the falls. A few steps off the back deck and your at the lake fishing, swimming,or paddling in paradise.

What's to do?: If you love nature you will love this place. There are lots of options to keep you occupied or you can just relax down on the dock, in the hammock, or on the deck. If you like to stay busy well you can:Go rafting, fishing, biking, gold panning, jeeping, hiking, horse back riding, wine tasting, moto cross riding, gambling, skiing, bird watching, antique shopping, or check out the local festivals .There is always something to do and see.

Who to bring?: Lagunita is perfect for a small family reunion: Grandparents, Parents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews,

Children, The Grand-babies....and The Great Grand-babies.

Lagunita is perfect for a Girls Getaway: Mothers & Daughters, The ladies from work, Bunko Babes,....Just Great Girl Friends: The ones you haven't scene in a while, The ones you had lunch with last week, The ones from high school, The ones you see at church or the wild wild ones you won't see in church....Girls just want have Fun & Wine

Lagunita is perfect for a gathering of friends: Any or all, big or small, I'm sure who you pick will be perfect.

When to come?: Winter: Sitting at 3500 elevation it can be cold with snow on the ground..like a winter wonderland.

Spring: Cool with the sun filtering through the trees and a nice cool breeze.

Summer Or: Warm but not hot with lots of shade from the trees.

Fall: Crisp with the change of colors and the sun glimmering on the water.

Anytime: The panorama is visually beautiful!

Come & Enjoy you won't be disappointed!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Shary,

I wanted to connect and let you know that our stay at Lagunita was simply fantastic. The cabin(s) worked great for us and we loved the beautiful setting by the lake. We spent a lot of time on the dock, rope swing, paddling the canoe and some "kid-fishing". We managed to hike to University Falls and had a great time. It's both true that the hike is only moderately difficult AND is not exactly well marked. I would not recommend someone going out without a map or a stop at the ranger station. We felt fortunate for the good weather and ate on the deck every meal.It really is a beautiful place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others visiting. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Pleasantly Surprised!!

  • 5 of 5

I was the last one to arrive to the cabin from San Francisco. I was met at the door by my grandchildren who took my bags and excitedly took me to the bedroom that they chose for me. "Granny, you don't have to climb stairs!" Happily they showed me the roomy closet and pointed out the lovely queen size bed, decor and antiques. Not allowing me to catch my breath, they gave me a tour, highlighting all the "good stuff." We have rented many vacation homes throughout the years and have heard from all the owners how wonderful their homes were. We were always (every single time) disappointed, some more than others when we arrived. We were all pleasantly surprised that all Sharon had told us was true. The house was clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated and well supplied. All the bedrooms were great. The view from the large back deck appeared to be a scene from a Hallmark movie. Everyone should know this place is "a sure thing!" Also, the house was large enough to accommodate the 11 of us comfortably. We will be back!

Closest place to HEAVEN.

Within minutes of exiting the car our first words were "OH my GOsh, this is nothing like the photos!" IT is MORE beautiful than a photo can show. If you are looking for a place to reconnect with family or friends away from the crazy world ... this is the place. The house is clean and provides any and all you could want .The service from the owners is prompt and caring. This home is worth the drive to . We spent 2 weeks here for Christmas and it was incredible. We plan on going in warmer weather, to actually swim in the lake. We have rented a lot of homes on this site and this is by far our favorite . We explored the area and found a hidden gem on the way to volcanoville. There is an artist who does wood carving sculptures hidden off in the woods... lions , raccoons, a pirate a dragon ...over 20 different art pieces spread out on this road. One was an owl looking down at you off a high tree. If you stay here go find this gem. Lagunita cabin lived up to the expectation and more. Thank you for sharing your home with us and allowing us to rent it.

Excellent Place at a Phenomenal Price!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our small church group went to Lagunita for a peaceful, wonderful, and a relaxing time. Shary, the owner, was great to interact with, with prompt and informative responses even a day before we went. There was some information that she gave me prior, which I had forgotten to read, and so when I asked her the redundant question, she was patient and gracious with her answers (and not even mentioning that she already gave us the information).

The place was beautiful, with many personal touches and unique decorative items, and of course, incredibly comfortable beds -- and I couldn't believe that they were willing to rent their property for such a cheap price. With the money we saved by going there, we bought a nice lunch for everyone :)

Another great thing were the Bunkhouses that were separate from the main house. This allowed some to stay up and play board games late into the night (loud), while others slept soundly in their quiet bunkhouses.

Finally, the lake, the woods, and the dark night to see the stars were great for recollecting and resting from the busy world.

Do not think twice

  • 5 of 5

We had the great opportunity to spend wonderful 3 days in this beautiful home during Labot Day weekend.

My Brother's Family and our family (4 adults and 6 kids) had an amazing time relaxing, swimming, Hiking and we even had the chance to buy few things in a local Garage Sale,

The house is full and rich with all is needed. Everything is very welcoming and the option of sleeping in the two outside cabins is providing the privacy you might need. It is very quite but yet offers everything to enjoy a full and quality time.

2 of our families friends will already enjoy it in the coming weekend.

Working with Sharen, the owner, was easy and pleasant, which is not taking for granted at all!

I will recommend this property to anyone as well as I know that we will enjoy it again.
