Georgetown Cabin Rental Photos and Description

5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms,1 half bathroom, sleeps 12

What makes Lagunita Lake House special? The cabin was originally built in 1930; you can still see the logs they used to support the roof and the beautiful quartz fireplace that is the focal point in the cozy livingroom. It was updated in the 90's and received a fresh coat of paint last summer. There are actually 5 buildings on the property: Main Cabin, Bunkhouse#1, Bunkhouse#2, The Boat House, and The Garage. They all have a lot of charm and quaintness in their own way and they all have a Lakeside view. The most unique feature of 'Lagunita' is definetly the setting...It sit's upon a beautiful little lake in the heart of the Sierra Nevada...surrounded by old growth ceder, pine, and madrone trees. There is a waterfall on the right side of the cabin that run's year round, imagine yourself relaxing on the deck or in the hamock with the tranquil sound of the water steadily washing over the falls. A few steps off the back deck and your at the lake fishing, swimming,or paddling in paradise.

What's to do?: If you love nature you will love this place. There are lots of options to keep you occupied or you can just relax down on the dock, in the hammock, or on the deck. If you like to stay busy well you can:Go rafting, fishing, biking, gold panning, jeeping, hiking, horse back riding, wine tasting, moto cross riding, gambling, skiing, bird watching, antique shopping, or check out the local festivals .There is always something to do and see.

Who to bring?: Lagunita is perfect for a small family reunion: Grandparents, Parents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews,

Children, The Grand-babies....and The Great Grand-babies.

Lagunita is perfect for a Girls Getaway: Mothers & Daughters, The ladies from work, Bunko Babes,....Just Great Girl Friends: The ones you haven't scene in a while, The ones you had lunch with last week, The ones from high school, The ones you see at church or the wild wild ones you won't see in church....Girls just want have Fun & Wine

Lagunita is perfect for a gathering of friends: Any or all, big or small, I'm sure who you pick will be perfect.

When to come?: Winter: Sitting at 3500 elevation it can be cold with snow on the ground..like a winter wonderland.

Spring: Cool with the sun filtering through the trees and a nice cool breeze.

Summer Or: Warm but not hot with lots of shade from the trees.

Fall: Crisp with the change of colors and the sun glimmering on the water.

Anytime: The panorama is visually beautiful!

Guestbook comments from the owner
Shary,

I wanted to connect and let you know that our stay at Lagunita was simply fantastic. The cabin(s) worked great for us and we loved the beautiful setting by the lake. We spent a lot of time on the dock, rope swing, paddling the canoe and some "kid-fishing". We managed to hike to University Falls and had a great time. It's both true that the hike is only moderately difficult AND is not exactly well marked. I would not recommend someone going out without a map or a stop at the ranger station. We felt fortunate for the good weather and ate on the deck every meal.It really is a beautiful place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others visiting. Thank you for sharing it with us.

RELAXING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

  • 4 of 5
We had a very relaxing week at the cabin. The weather and lake were perfect for staying outdoors night and day. The two extra bunk houses gave everyone plenty of space. We're already thinking about coming back next year.

GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILIES

  • 5 of 5
We were there with 2 other families. The property is a gem. It's right next to the lake. There's no noise. The house is stock with tons of games and Legos. The kitchen has every gadget you may need to cook a Thanksgiving meal. The owners are very helpful and responsive.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME~

  • 5 of 5
This was our first trip to Lagunita. We traveled from Southern California for 12 hours. After a long day of driving and a midnight arrival we were so excited to see this beautiful cabin in the woods. We walked in and it immediately felt like home. We spent the week enjoy all the nature that surrounded us. The Lake, the rope swing, the waterfall. Everything was just stunning. I spent many evenings sitting on the bridge with a glass of wine and a good book watching the sun set on the mountain trees. If you are looking for a place of relaxation, peace, serenity, and quality family time, this is an absolute must. We were lucky to stumble upon this gem. We can't wait for many more years of memories at Lagunita if Shary and Jeff will have us. An amazing week. Thank you. ~Melanie & the gang~

GIRLS WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
If you ever want to get away with the family or your girlfriends this is the place. The house was located right on the water with a fabulous view. Great deck to have a BBQ and gather with your family and friends. Kitchen loaded with every convenience you need. Spacious bathrooms so if you go with girlfriends you have plenty of room to get ready for the Georgetown night life. Which as for shopping the house is just miles away from Georgetown that has a few wonderful antique shops and restaurant/bars. i will definitely come back and bring my family. Love to come in the winter time! It has that same mountain feel as Lake Tahoe but without all the people and it's closer!

GREAT LOCATION AND A BEAUTIFUL HOME!

  • 5 of 5
Lagunita was perfect for our family and extended family. We enjoyed swimming in the lake (pond?) and hanging out on the back deck. Having the extra cabins was great for family members that came and went throughout the weekend. The owners are great to work with and you can tell that they take care of this home and the people that stay here.
