Beautiful ocean front condo only steps to Nantucket Sound. Pet friendly.
Located at: 405 Old Wharf Road, Dennisport MA 02639
Our property is a brand new ocean front condominium building of 13 total units only steps to Cape Cod's beautiful Nantucket Sound. We are located in heart of Dennisport Massachusetts. We are owners of the beach and our beach is private. This is a residential area surrounded by million dollar ocean front private homes. Many leisure and family activities are nearby, including excellent dining accommodations. We are Pet friendly.
We would have given 4.75 stars had it been an option. As such, the property and the owners were too nice for us to give “only” 4 stars. Here are the 3 things we were less than happy with:
The listing clearly says Hot Tub/Jacuzzi but it is not available. It was a hot week when we went but the option to take a late night dip was not an option for some reason. I assumed the past complaints about this from past reviews were outdated since our contract had all kinds of references to the spa.
The Wifi was terrible. I planned on doing some work when I had a chance but that wasn’t really possible. For some reason I was getting a strong signal but it kept dropping every few minutes and sometimes just wouldn’t connect at all.
The owners are very nice people, but getting the contracts and confirmation was way more of a hassle than it should have been.
All minor but we felt worth mentioning. Now on to the good stuff!
The place was spotless and everything was seemingly new. Nicely furnished, decorated, and we had everything we needed. I did notice that there isn’t a clothes iron in the room but we were fortunate enough not to need one. The bed was very comfy. The furniture was adequate for the two of us. We ran into Allison when we got there and mentioned we forgot beach chairs and they miraculously appeared for us minutes later. She told us to let her know if we needed anything at all but we never did.
The location worked out perfectly for us. It is in a really nice part of Dennisport. We were able to travel all over the Cape and go wherever we wanted without a long drive due to the central location. The best part of the location though has got to be the Ocean House which is basically next door. Between the restaurant and the café they run, the best breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the entire Cape is merely steps away. The food and the views are 2nd to none.
The beach is private as advertised and well maintained. We had plenty of space to ourselves when we wanted privacy yet there were some nice folks there to chat with as well. The water was much warmer and cleaner than the Long Island Sound where we live. As far as we were concerned this beach was as good as it gets aside from being somewhere tropical. The property actually has what looks like a great pool that has fallen into a state of disrepair. If ever fixed this place would have it all.
All in all it was a wonderful place to spend the week and well worth the price we paid.
Overall this is a very nice place to stay. They are per friendly which was ultimately why we stayed there. Easy door codes and not the hassle of carrying a key with you. We had a 2br 2ba condo, tile floors throughout, new kitchen with all supplies, jacuzzi tub in 1 room and walkin bath in the other, which made it easy to wash off ourselves and the dogs from beach walks. Gas grill on site wifi yet we had a problem getting reception at end of units. It's a bring your own sheets and towels place. Owners were very friendly and helpful with advice for our first visit to the cape. We will definitely be back to Old Wharf.
My wife and I stayed there with our cat while visiting family and celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary. Prior visits to the Cape were to more expensive and older hotels, so we wanted to give rentals a try. We loved the location to the beach with this condo. We stayed in the 2bed 2bath condo and had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the unit. It consisted of a brand new kitchen with pans, plates, cups and utensils stocked. We didn't eat in much, but it is nice to have the option if we wanted. The bathrooms were great, covered in stone and with a soaking tub or walk-in shower. The beach was a good size to relax on and only ran into 1 other couple the few days we were down there. We didn't get a chance to meet the owners, but had no issues with the supplied door code the morning we arrived (provided over the phone that day). We definitely enjoyed our stay and will be checking back for future visits.
We had an absolute wonderful stay this past week! Allison was just incredible and accomdated us in every way! The beach is just amazing and to be able to have our dog with us on the beach everyday was perfect. The condo was great, we didn't have a tub but the walk in shower was just beautiful. The tile work was so cool. We loved every second of our vacation and can't wait to go back next year. Than you Allison for all your hard work!
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the property for a quick weekend getaway and had a wonderful time. It was off-season so we pretty much had the place to ourselves and loved the private beach just a few steps away. The condo itself is tastefully decorated (simple and beachy) and everything is extremely clean and brand new. The kitchen has new appliances and is fully stocked, including paper towels (not mentioned in the description), hand towels and even a blender! The living room furniture was comfy and the electric fireplace was a nice touch for the cool evenings. We were pleased to see that the rooms were as pictured (even better in person) and our hosts, Chuck and Alison, were friendly and extremely helpful recommending restaurants and activities near by. The only suggestion would be thicker pillows (that's a personal preference) and wall hooks in the bathroom for a hand towel (there was a rack but for ease of reach a hook is better). If that's the only suggestions I can come up with, then they're doing a pretty good job! I can't comment on the swimming pool or hot tub because they were still closed for the season (too cold to use anyway!). The condos are in a nice quiet area (could have been the time of year) and are conveniently located near the Cape Cod Rail Trail Bike Path. Dennisport is a good central location allowing for easy access to any of the other towns and beaches. We really enjoyed our time on the Cape and will definitely be back to stay at Old Wharf Village!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Old Wharf Village for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Since we got married on the Cape in late September, we wanted to spend a nice, relaxing anniversary on the Cape as well. We stayed at just the right place for that and were so thankful to the owners for a welcoming stay.
When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by one of the owners and they upgraded our condo to an oceanfront suite when they learned it was our wedding anniversary. After walking through the condo unit, we thought that the Old Wharf Village might be one of the best kept secrets on the Cape. The condo unit was spotlessly clean, and that’s coming from someone that is a very neat and clean kept person. The layout of condo is very efficient and extremely accommodating. The condo was well constructed and it is evident they used high end products/building material to finish the suite.
After a day in the sun, we relaxed at night in front of the gas fireplace in the living room. The bedrooms were spacious and the décor was the perfect Oceanside theme, to remind you how wonderful it is to be on the Cape. The bathrooms were so nice – we wanted to go home and remodel our own bathroom after that weekend.
The Old Wharf Village is pet friendly and we were thankful to bring our dog with us. The owners appreciate that our furry friends are one of the family! They have a cute dog of their own that our dog enjoyed playing with. It is so rare to find a place willing to allow dogs, and more so, welcoming of them. We were careful to clean up after our dog, and it is evident that the owners take that serious too – which was great. Thanks again for letting us bring Sophie!
Since we had an oceanfront condo, we had a nice patio with a small table and two chairs of our own. We woke up each morning to drink our coffee on the patio and stare out at the ocean, it was amazing. The beach is private and very clean. You can walk a nice stretch of beach in either direction also. We were the only people on the beach during our stay, except for one day when we shared the beach with the owners and their family. The owners are very nice, welcoming people and we spent a good deal of time talking with them.
If you love the ocean and come to the Cape to “veg” out on the beach, like we do – the Old Wharf Village is the place to stay. You don’t have to leave, it has the ocean, a pool, a hot tub, and a great place to stay all in one!
We are an ocean front property with a super private beach on Cape Cod's beautiful Nantucket Sound. The beach is ours and not for use by the public. Nantucket Sound is much warmer than Cape Cod Bay on the north side. Our beach is shallow and very warm for all kinds of great swimming and fun!
