This couples only complex boasts a centrally located shared pool/cabana/deck that hangs off the hillside in Coral Bay, St John offering a spectacular view of the Village of Coral Bay, Hurricane Hole, and the British Virgin Islands. Cool off in the 9 X 14 pool or lounge around on the custom built pool bench with your feet dangling in the water and your favorite book. An ample pool cabana and deck provide that perfect pool side shady spot for an afternoon nap or happy hour libation.

Enjoy your morning coffee on your outdoor dining deck or while feeding the sugarbirds under the swaying palms by the pool. Shopping, restaurants, bars, water sports, and hiking are a minute or two away. Francis Bay Beach and Big Maho Bay Beach are a short 15 minute drive through the beautiful National Park. If you are looking for a quiet getaway for two... this is a found treasure.

About Sharon

Welcome to the Island Harmony community. David and I are so pleased to have you and will make every effort to ensure your stay with us is enjoyable. We are also most happy to provide you with all the peace and privacy you might require.

By way of a very brief introduction, I have been an islander since I was 7 years old. My family arrived by freighter in 1959 and proceeded to build a family run business consisting of a West Indian style guest house and restaurant overlooking the sea on St Croix. Every child’s dream come true, my childhood friends were monkeys, talking birds, horses, and all the wonders that the sea affords, coupled with a fresh array of new faces visiting from all around the world every week. What a privilege and adventure!

In 1984, David who had been bare boating in the Caribbean for many years, came home from a vacation and put a sign in his front yard that said simply ‘EVERYTHING FOR SALE” and some short time later, he boarded a plane to St John with his wife, 2 young children and 20 duffel bags of belongings to start his island adventure living aboard a Morgan 42 sail boat in Coral Bay Harbor. He proceeded to build a successful building contractors business for the next 26 years and many of the lovely homes and rental Villas on the island are his handiwork. Now nearing retirement, he is focusing on our long and short term rental homes and remodeling jobs.

If I can sum up the dream, which I named Island Harmony many years before it became a reality, it was to design, and build a harmonious, beautiful environment that affords peace and tranquility for all its occupants. You are most welcome to join us! We look forward to meeting you and sharing this special island paradise.

What makes this apartment unique

WHY CORAL BAY????

Coral Bay is on the “quiet side” of the island. We still have donkeys, goats, chickens, and iguanas roaming our streets. Our sleepy little village is populated with some of the friendliest locals you will find on St John. Sit at the bar and make new friends easily.

Another really great feature of this side of the island is that we face the British Virgin Islands, argueably some of the best sailing in the world. The views are perpetually dotted with outlying islands and white sails with the occasional cruise ship meandering by.

We are a short 10 - 15 minute drive from the fabulous and pristine North Shore Beaches and have a wonderful assortment of shops bars and restaurants. All very relaxed and tropical.

This is simply as close as I, Sharon, could get to my childhood on the island of St Croix as it was in 1959.

We had a great week on St John staying at Harmony by the Pool. Staying in Coral Bay is the perfect place for anyone who really wants a relaxing vacation. Sharon and David take great care of Harmony by the Pool and it really shows! We had everything we needed for the week. As for our St John suggestions: Restaurants – We love La Tapa in Cruz Bay and Aqua Bistro in Coral Bay (for Friday night Ponzu Tuna!) Beaches – Francis Bay is very relaxing and close to Harmony by the Pool. Our favorite beach is Gibney (also known as Oppenheimer). If you go there, get there early (there are spaces for 3 jeeps in front of the Iron Gate). Thanks for everything!

We cannot thank you enough for allowing us the privilege of staying at your home, your generous hospitality and help in finding what we needed to make our stay enjoyable.
We very much enjoyed our day sail with Rick & Robin on Long Distance & the kayaking and snorkeling day with Eco Tours (ahhh, the “death apple” tree – I knew we were in Eden!) Peaceful Haven High Above Coral Bay

We had a lovely, very quiet and relaxing week in this very private guest apartment. Sharon and David were the ideal hosts: welcoming and helpful before our arrival on the island, super at helping us find our way and getting settled, and anticipating guests' comfort. They are very sensitive to guests' needs and are there to help as much or as little as you want. Sharon is a VI native and understands the joys and quirks of island life. This is a place for self-reliant folks who are content within themselves and enjoy seeking out island pleasures by day and quiet relaxation on the balcony, by the pool, or in the guest house that is "just right" for two. The little town of Coral Bay is a short drive away, and the quieter pleasures of the east side of St. John are easily reached by jeep. More dining and shopping can be found in Cruz Bay, about 25 minutes' drive, and the whole island is fun to explore by jeep, on foot, and with mask and snorkel! It was an utterly relaxing and restful vacation.

Thank you so much for another wonderful stay at Harmony by the Pool. We are so happy we stayed longer this time. You are great hosts and this place is so relaxing and beautiful. We are so glad we got to meet Sharon this time. We enjoyed watching sunrise from our room, breakfast on the deck, sitting by the pool and the amazing laser lights illuminating the trees at night. We went to Francis, Maho & Trunk Bays, also Vie’s Beach. We loved the food at Aqua Bistro and also enjoyed dinners at Morgan’s Mango, Shipwreck Landing and Sweet Plantains! We love "Harmony by the Pool” and look forward to our stay next year. Thank you, we had a great time!

Fantastic Coral Bay View and Breezes!

My husband and I stayed at Harmony by the Pool for the third time last week. Sharon and David are simply the best hosts that you could ask for, and their love of their property, Coral Bay and St. John in unmatched. All of the little details are what makes this place amazing (the "glowing" sparkling trees!) The unit itself is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a full, well-stocked kitchen and a wrap-around porch with areas for dining, Bay-watching or just relaxing in the hammock. The pool area is amazing as well. You can tell that immense thought was put into its design, with the built-in seating in the pool, the bench on the side and the large roof providing welcome shade over it all. The location in Coral Bay is a great escape from the "big city" of Cruz Bay at the end of the day, and is about a 15 minute drive to the north shore beaches. Sharon and David have provided coolers, beach chairs and huge fluffy beach towels - everything you need to spend a day on the beach!
