Guestbook comments from the owner
Well we may very well have started a new family tradition of Christmas Market the first weekend of December in Georgetown and staying at the McMichael house. Our girls had a blast and are bummed to go home. The house has been comfy and cozy during highs in the teens and snow! We have made some wonderful family memories that will stay with us forever. Thank you so very much!

Our family loves spending time in the mountains skiing, hiking, and relaxing. As a realtor, Renee loves helping people find their dream homes.

We love Georgetown and the charm of the historic small town. It is close to Denver and skiing and has amazing views.

Since we are not able to be in Georgetown all the time, we decided to rent it out so that other people can enjoy the space and have as much fun as we do.

Relaxing is our number one priority, but we also enjoy the malts at the soda shop, cupcakes from Cake, hiking and walking, playing at City Park, and skiing nearby.

PERFECTLY-APPOINTED MOUNTAIN RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
We stayed two weekend nights at this mountain home in order to be close to skiing and it was perfect! It comfortably accommodated two adults and five kids with the kids loving their top-of-the stairs big bedroom and bath. The home truly feels like a mountain vacation home without being cliche-- we found a huge fireplace, big living room and a closet stacked with a huge selection of family games just right for our family. The kitchen was perfectly appointed for cooking and everything worked exactly as it should. The home is very clean and very comfortable and has clearly been well-maintained.

We enjoyed walking a few blocks to a fun local park and a few blocks to the main street shopping and restaurants. Dinner at Lucha was delicious.

Not only will we look forward to another ski weekend here but would love to spend a summer weekend here. The back porch and fenced yard looked inviting for a cool summer evening in Colorado.

I would highly recommend this property for a weekend getaway from the city with couples or a family. It would be a great and real mountain town experience for out of towners looking to get a taste of the Colorado high country.

The owner was very helpful and friendly in both making our arrangements, leaving clear directions about the home and giving us some dinner recommendations.

A REASONABLE PLACE TO STAY IN GEORGETOWN WITH PROS AND CONS

  • 3 of 5
The house was clean and stocked with some unexpected items like movies. The property had advertised firewood and fire starters which were not available even after calling the owner.

The owner was very nice about letting us have an early check-in and late check-out. Although the required damage protection insurance was displeasing.

Once we paid for damage protection and late checkout, this home was of lower quality than the price charged relative to other VRBO places we've stayed (even in Georgetown).

The bed arrangement was very good for young kids or teenagers.

Owner's Response: We are sorry this guest was not pleased with his stay. Our guests have found the cottage to be a very comfortable and cozy place to stay and have commented on all the extras we provide. The late check out fee is only 25% of the nightly fee which we would not be able to get from another guest. The small property insurance fee is in lieu of a damage deposit, protects the house, and your trip. It was our intention to have wood there for guests, but didn't know it was out until his call. We tried to have wood delivered during his stay, but were not able to find anyone to do that so we are having more wood delivered this week. We hoped by providing firewood, it was an extra benefit to our guests that they would be pleasantly surprised by. We love spending time in the cottage in Georgetown and want to share that experience with other people. Thank you for your time and comment.

FAMILY SKI VACATION

We were very impressed with this property. It is within walking distance to most shops and restaurants in Georgetown. The house has a very cozy feel to it that you just can't get in a large resort. Will rent this property again in the near future.

AMAZING MOUNTAIN GETAWAY

  • 4 of 5
We traveled with 6 adults, 2 teens, 2 young children and a dog. We found the house exactly like the pictures. It was clean, comfortable and in a quiet location. Because it was Christmas it was such a nice added touch to find a full size Christmas tree fully decorated and ready for Santa's presents. The pocket park across the street was a perfect place to play in the snow and the historical town was very charming. The whole family loved the Santa train with free hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts outside. The owners were so helpful and friendly with responses to my inquiries the same day I emailed them. We all highly recommend this property and we would love to go back!

ONE OF GEORGETOWN'S BEST.

One of Georgetown's BEST.
  • 5 of 5
We spent several months searching for the perfect location to spend our 9-week sabbatical. After looking at several Georgetown locations, we picked this house and have not regretted it for the following reasons.

1. Close and quiet location in the historic district. You can walk to just about anything in town in a few minutes. The Clear Creek River is close enough to hear, the shops, restaurants and historic tours are all a short walk away. The town park and dog run are five minutes away.
2. Amazing outdoor adventures. The Georgetown Train, Guanella Pass, Georgetown Lake, bike trails, old mines, a 140 year old wagon trail and much more are all accessed right there in town.
3. Relaxing atmosphere. This house doesn’t feel like a vacation rental with old and outdated furnishings. It’s furnished with modern and comfortable furniture, a full kitchen, internet and cable. It’s clean, functional and the kind of place you would actually live in.
4. Amazing memories. From family down-time, summit hikes, the Georgetown dinner train, bike rides and much more, this place made hundreds of deposits into our family memory chest.
5. Great owners who are easy to work with, informed and responsive.

If you’re looking for a place that is inviting, relaxing and comfortable, then this is the place for you! We’ll be back!
