DELUXE CONDO AT NORTHSTAR!

We have been coming to the Truckee/Donner/Tahoe area since 1975. We think it's one of the greatest areas in the world to just get away. For many years we trailered and camped through out the whole area. Over the past few years we have been renting various units, mostly individual homes.

This was our first shot at renting a condo. We hit a home the run the first time out. We cooled our heels for 3 days and nights. Visited our favorite haunts during the day and just hung out and played games at night. The deluxe NorthStar condo provided all of the comforts of home and was a perfect location from which to launch our Dailey trips.

The unit was tastily decorated, felt fresh and clean and just generally comfortable. A pleasure to be in. All in all a good place to stay whether for 3 nights, or a week or more. We would return to Michael's place in a heartbeat the next time we have a desire to visit Truckee or any where else in the area.

This property was an absolute delight to visit, (we stayed three nights, but I wish it was more). The owner, Michael, is communicative and responsive. The Town-home itself is in a great location, quite, super clean, and relaxing. The patio offers an outstanding view of the valley below, and whether you enjoy reading, conversation, or just relaxing, it's perfect. Northstar operates a free shuttle service, with pickup and delivery practically from the front door, and only a three minute drive to the Village. The Village at Northstar has tons of shops and pretty much anything we needed, including quality grocery items, and of course, much more. The Village is family oriented, and at the same time a great place to unwind and relax among the various seating areas, (you can even get drinks). A great place to relax, renew, and recreate.

Our family of 4 enjoyed staying in this condo for 4 nights over President's weekend. While it is rather remote in the condo neighborhood just outside of the village, the shuttles were frequent and took only minutes to get to the resort.

The property itself was comfortable (especially the couch and beds), but it was not spacious (entryway is on the landing of the staircase, no counter space in the bathrooms, and no room to close the bathroom door without standing out of the way) or luxurious (thin panel doors with rough trim and dated fixtures). The high points were the kitchen appliances (coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator), and the efficiency of the furnace.

Another strong point was the professionalism and courtesy of the owner. He was especially reliable and communicative by email.

Overall, an enjoyable but not lavish, experience for us.
