If you like to be close to everything AND have the beach right out your back door, then the Martinique South is just the spot for your vacation! Located in the heart of Holmes Beach, you'll be able to walk to restaurants, shopping, the marina, the Post Office, the library...and the list goes on! Plus, when you're ready to explore a bit further, the free Anna Maria Island Trolley stops right by your door.

The owners really treasure their Florida getaway; you can feel the happiness when you walk in the door! The first thing you'll notice is that this one bedroom, one bath unit is extra large, with over 950 square feet of living space in which to relax. The charming and comfortable tropical decor is the perfect choice for a unit from which you can see the sun, sand, and surf!

The large galley kitchen has been completely updated, and is fully equipped for meal preparation. A small table and chairs are intended to be taken outside the front door for breakfast or lunch overlooking the beach. The walkway along the front of the units is very wide, and with only one unit beyond this one, you'll rarely have company. The refreshing breezes and heavenly view make this a very popular spot to sit and relax.

Both the living room and bedroom feature gorgeous views over the beach and the Gulf of Mexico...you'll be eager to get out there and enjoy yourself! In case you need anything besides the sun and sand, The Martinique offers its guests the use of its heated swimming pool, tennis court, and community room.

Other amenities include assigned covered parking, and a storage closet that the owners keep stocked with tennis rackets and beach equipment.

Sleeps a maximum of 4 people in one king bed, plus one sleeper sofa and one roll away bed. Although the condo association requires a minimum stay of one month, the owners will entertain the possibility of shorter stays under certain circumstances. Please ask for details!

We just got back from our WONDERFUL week in this beautiful condo! We found the listing through this site, VRBO and it was rented from E&V Vacation International Rentals, which the owners have it listed with. This was our first trip to AMI, but like so many others we fell in love with it & we will be back! First, the condo, it had everything you could possibly want/need & more. Loved the furniture, décor, kitchen supplies, beach items, view & location! We could walk right out of our door and be at one of the free southbound trolley stops or walk up 2 blocks & be at a northbound stop. The condo was within easy walking distance of several restaurants. Most mornings we walked right up the road to have breakfast at “Minnie’s”, which had homemade breakfast favorites & great service. We loved the wall to wall full length windows in the living room. Even though it doesn’t have a true balcony, you have the full view from there and if you go out the front door there are chairs and a small table where you can sit & enjoy the view of the gulf. Even though it isn’t a private space, we never had anyone walk by us when we were sitting there. My only suggestion to the owners would be to put in a ceiling fan or add a regular fan in the bedroom to help circulate the air in the bedroom. The beach in front of the condo was nice & quiet, never overcrowded and every shade of blue/green that you can imagine. While on the beach we saw dolphins, ray & the one that made one of my longtime dreams come true-a manatee! It was just swimming in the waves going up the coast!
Now onto the rental company. We worked with Candy & she was wonderful to work with. She was always happy to help us with any questions we had and was always quick to respond to our calls & emails. She was very friendly and we will contact her to help us gain next time. Thank you so much to the condo owners & Candy for sharing this condo with us!

P.S. I had always heard people talk about “Old Florida” and I had always wondered exactly what that meant. Now after visiting the island I know what it is & I hope that AMI will never lose that Old Florida charm!

Oh well!

For some reason I though we had a patio/balcony but not so. This unit doesn't face the ocean but there is a side view of the gulf. No one told us the pool is closed this week due to painting the exterior of the building. For some reason we can't get into the storage room where the beach chairs are supposed to be! The shower is dark and I would recommend the owners put a ceiling fan I'm the bedroom. We will still make the most of our trip but I wish we know about the pool being closed. This was a trip to celebrate my husbands birthday and I wish the amenities were better.

Owner's Response: The guest and I spoke today. We are very, very committed to making sure everyone has a great time, and it's distressing to find out something is wrong.

Unfortunately, although we knew the building was being painted this summer, we were never notified that the pool would be closed at any time during that process. I'm working on finding an alternative for them. I already offered to move them to another property, but they decided that they didn't want the hassle of moving, and they like the location well enough to stay and put up with the inconvenience of the pool.

The views from this unit are of the Gulf, and the entire complex is on the Gulf. However, this unit is to the side of the building, rather than facing the beach full-on. We've tried to convey that in our verbiage, as well as in our photographs.

By the time I spoke to the guests, they realized the storage closet with the beach equipment was somewhere other than where they were looking! They thought that the locked cabinet off the front hall was the storage closet, but later realized it's an actual closet on the ground floor near the beach. They were able to access beach equipment etc without any problems.

I'm not sure if there's a solution to the shower being too dark, but I do know that many condos don't allow/can't accommodate the installation of ceiling fans, whether because of noise issues for the unit below, or structural issues because each unit has concrete floors. I'll have to check on whether or not that's the case at The Martinique.

Finally, there isn't a private balcony in this unit because prior owners enclosed the porch to extend the living area, making a very large, comfortable living space. There is, however, an open seating area in front of the unit. Although it's not private (there's one unit past this unit, so guests there might walk by on the way to their door), the breeze is wonderful and the views are also of the Gulf and Holmes Beach.

All said, because of the pool situation we're going to refund a portion of the guests' reservation to them, and wish them a happy week of celebration in spite of the challenges!

A-mazing!

What a view! We were knocked out when we walked in & saw a full wide open view of the Gulf of Mexico. The condo is VERY clean, modern and spacious. The layout of the property is terrific. Just a few steps to the beach and a wonderful little shopping area with some great bars (good happy hours too). Every beach activity we wanted to do was easy and convenient. We swam, fished, shopped, sunbathed and enjoyed the whole island with this place as our home base. Love it & highly recommend it (although perhaps we’d rather keep it just our little secret!).
