BEAUTIFUL, QUIET AND WELL EQUIPPED CHALET FOR SKI VACATION OR SECLUDED GETAWAY

I stayed at this fantastic chalet in early March 2012 for a ski/snowboard weekend with a group of 6 adults. Whiteface Mountain is a short drive away and if you haven’t skied Whiteface you need to put it on your list.

The chalet is even better than the listing here. It’s very comfortable with modern amenities throughout. There were some hard to please ‘foodies’ in our group and even they were impressed with how well appointed the kitchen was. The owners take obvious pride, it was immaculate when we arrived and after an overnight snowfall the driveway was plowed before we were even awake.

As a ski base this chalet is so much more comfortable than a cramped hotel room, spacious and comfortable, it handled 6 showers without losing heat or pressure. While it’s close to both Whiteface and Lake Placid the location is also spectacularly beautiful. You’ll feel like you’re secluded in your own cabin in the woods as you sit on deck in the falling snow.

I’ve already recommended this place to a number of friends and I’ll be back for sure.

If you’re looking for a home away from home in the Adirondacks, and you should be, you can stop looking you’ve found it.

We stayed at this lovely home on Columbus Day weekend; we're five adult siblinigs and in-laws who have vacationed together often, along with three grown children. Since some of us are aspiring "46-ers", we tackled Whiteface Mountain on Saturday, which was only 20 minutes away, with a great little breakfast diner (The Country Bear) on the way in Wilmington. It was a warm Fall day, and the hike was amazing. The fact that we could get to the trail quickly and then back home to a comfortable, welcoming living space was terrific; very different than returning to a small hotel room.

The listing here is accurate; the house is spacious, comfortable, and has many modern appliances. The heat and hot water were plentiful, the kitchen is well appointed, and everything was clean and organized. We brought food and prepared casseroles, so we were able to relax and eat at home without too much fuss. The house allows for privacy too, with several bedrooms and options for sleeping areas. T

he owners were very helpful and responsive as we made reservations, and then when we had a question upon arrival. The house is in the woods, but part of a development. It feels secluded but is actually close to the main roads. I've already recommended this to several friends. It's a great basecamp for skiers and hikers, or if you want to just relax in a quiet place, this could be for you. The price is right too, considering what housing would be for six adults in more typical lodging, All in all, this is a great find.

This is a beautiful home- even more so than the pictures make it seem. It is in a very secluded location and you can barely see any neighbors when at the home. The house is about a 20-25 minute drive from Lake Placid, which is I found appealing because you are close enough to enjoy the town without having to be in its craziness if it is crowded.

Some details about the home- the Kitchen is fully stocked. It is extraordinarily clean. There is a real nice set up downstairs with a huge TV for movie watching and the like. There are plenty of places for people to sleep if you have a large group. There are 3 beds and a bunch of convertible futons.

I would highly reccomend both this house and the Adirondacks generally, as the whole region is gorgeous.
