Our most requested apartment for the romantic getaway. 9 tall windows overlook the beach and the Gulf of Mexico from the second floor of the big house. Lie in bed in the morning and watch the sand pipers and the beach combers. Dine in the evening at the table for two and enjoy the most beautiful red sunsets into the ocean. Our guest book is full of rave reviews. This is the best of Old Florida.
About Bruce Carter

My grandparent's, Ernest and Leona Delano, bought the place in 1965 and went about converting it into beachfront vacation rentals. I used to come down to Florida and visit them. My father, an air force fighter pilot, went off to Vietnam so I lived here while he was away. I met my wife Kathy at college in Gainesville. We moved to Denver, raise 2 boys and always came back every year to relax in this very special place. In 1996 my grandparents retired and we decided the Sun n Fun was too nice to part with so we bought it to keep it in the family for the next generation to enjoy.

As you can see from the photo, good memories are made here. Both our boys are now married and when we can we fly down from Denver and stay a week or two. My oldest son Aaron proposed to his wife on the beach and of course it decided to rain so they came in soaked to the bone. We can go on and on about the fun we have. Always a treat.

What makes this cottage unique

Location, location , location. My grandparent's chose well. This part of the island is so narrow you can throw a stone from the Gulf and hit the Bay. We get the best of both world's. The sun rises on the boats cruising up and down the channel. And in the evening we get the deepest red sunsets into the Gulf that folks write home about.

You will be vacationing on the closest beach to Tampa airport while also secluded from the vacation crowds. We are located in 'The Narrows', so named by the local settlers of the 1920's because the barrier island is so skinny here that there is only room for a single row of homes. The emerald green waters of the Gulf are out your front door and and yachts cruising the channel are out your back door. Water surrounds you like no where else with fantastic tropical views and a true island feeling. Our many repeat guests tell us that this is the most coveted spot on the 12 miles of world class beaches between Clearwater and St Petersburg.

What a wonderful place to stay.
The location is perfect if you want to relax and the hospitality is fantastic.
If your looking for real luxury this is not for you NO walk in wardrobes no dishwasher in the apartment we rented.
But there is so much more beautiful beach front and lots of loungers seats and a great BQ faciilty plus wonderful sunsets.Real ocean frontage not a Plastic Condo.
