This family home (3600 Sq Ft) is located in a beautiful part of San Francisco on Chestnut Street right next to the stunning Presidio National Park and the gorgeous Marina. This area is filled with ocean beach and forest trails, wonderful shops, world-renown restaurants/bars (both casual and formal) and all types of sports/entertainment activities.
Our newly renovated home features a prominent view of the Palace of Fine Arts from virtually every room plus a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts from the Master Bedroom.
All the rooms on the main floor flow into one another with open areas that ultimately open onto the large tiled deck with relaxing lounge, gas BBQ and prominent views. The comfortable formal living room features a wood-burning fireplace and the formal dining room. A stylish family room, Tuscan-style kitchen and powder room finish off this floor.
The deck provides access to the private garden with fire pit, water feature, and heated sitting area along with a heated game room. In addition, on the downstairs level, is a laundry room, and media room with large flat screen and surround sound.
In the media room, you will enjoy Wii games, Netflix and cable. A cozy couch folds out to a queen bed turning this room into the 4th bedroom. A zen-like bathroom with shower rounds out the room.
On the upper floor, there are three bedrooms with a king, queen and a full size bed respectively and three baths each with heated floors. The master bedroom has a sitting area and fireplace plus a bath with jacuzzi tub and full view. The second bedroom has a view and comfortable desk plus bath with skylight and rainshower. The third bedroom is great for kids with bunk beds and full bath.
Our home comfortably sleeps 4-5 adults and 2-3 children...
Our home is not suitable for children under the age of 7.
We also have parking available for one car.
This spacious, three-story, architect-designed and elegantly-furnished house is our private home when we are not traveling. It is located in one of the most desirable San Francisco neighborhoods and is the perfect short-term residence for professionals, corporate executives, or vacationers.
This is an ideal location for couples, families or friends who are also interested in nearby activities such as: Golf, Sailing, Walking or Riding Bikes to the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39 tourist area, Exploratorium, Disney Family Museum, Presidio Bowling, or Sausalito.
There is so much to do in this area and with easy access to Marin, Napa and Sonoma too. Carmel and Monterey are just two hours away and Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park are four hours away.
When you compare these rates with a hotel, remember to add the 14% San Francisco hotel tax. Many San Francisco visitors don't realize all the taxes involved until they see their final bill.
A property manager is close by if there are needs while you are staying at our home.

We bought this house because of its fabulous location, incredible views, proximity to the water and nearby activities, shops and restaurants.
It is also super convenient to anywhere in the city via public transportation, just a block away!
It is such a wonderful home that it is almost like a vacation when we are home!
My fiancé and I took our 4 teenagers to San Francisco for a regatta and were pleasantly surprised how close the home is to St. Francis Yacht Club.
The views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the 1915 Panama/Pacific Exposition dome are amazing. Each level of the home has great features. We put one son on the ground level with ping pong and his own tv the room was perfect. Level two was the main living area. It truly is like you are at your own home. The owners left their things as if they walked out so any kitchen item you need is there! We at outside on the patio and cooked on the fab Lynx grill. Level three is the master - wow- tub and shower (with the VIEW!) and great bed. The "guest room" was perfect for our teenage daughter (own bath) and then the bunk room was great for the twins. The bunk room is actually the families son's room and was great (double bunk and upper single bunk) for the twin teenage sons we have. This home is worth every penny of the rent. It was relaxing and warm and truly a home. I have pretty high standards and this one is incredible. We would definitely rent again and i have recommended this home to our close friends and family.
If you do rent this home, please treat it with care. We were honored to stay there and want to be able to return!!!!
This beautiful home was just the perfect setting for our family holiday. Our careers offer us little time to gather as a family so it was very important to find a perfect place to gather. This home was that perfect place! Every single aspect of this home contributed to our fabulous vacation. The home is immaculate, stylish and created with comfort in mind. I reread the homeowners description of this home after our vacation and found that it describes the property with accuracy yet somehow does not capture the home's true magic. We loved the location!!!! This property afforded us choices. Every choice was wonderful. We knew the home offered a parking space so we rented a van and appreciated the worry-free aspect of traveling to and from the home. We walked or biked extensively through the nearby areas and the garage was a secure place to store our bikes and equipment. The Starbucks in the Presidio opened early for those who liked to buy a morning paper while reading the daily news. The local restaurants, markets, bakeries and stores were close enough to walk to. We found that as the week progressed, we spent more of our evenings enjoying the homes atmosphere. The upstairs patio is an incredible place to gather since the view is spectacular and the patio heaters kept us quite comfortable. It is evident that the homeowner has gone to great lengths to anticipate the needs of guests and there was nothing we wanted or needed that wasn’t available to us. This beautiful home offered everything we needed to enjoy our family vacation.
We are a very well travelled California family of 6 (16,21,25,26) . We have lived and gone to school in the Bay Area and know San Francisco's neighborhoods and nice hotels fairly well. We have been fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in 5 star hotels throughout the world. Nothing prepared us for the luxury , sophistication and views offered by this beautiful home. We highly recommend this home to anyone looking for an incredible opportunity . We walked everywhere. restaurants, shopping , and sight seeing all easily accessible . The quality interior design throughout this property made the decision to dine in or out a difficult choice. My husband was content to sit in a comfortable upstairs chair and read for many afternoons with the Golden Gate Bridge and Palace of Fine Art just over the top of his book. We were content that he was content. Our sort-of adult children were happy to return to this home front much earlier than normal. For all 6 of us, this home was the unexpected highlight of the entire vacation . Thank you so much for sharing your home.
This was our second venture as a family to the San Francisco area, and we were certainly not disappointed in this home. A family of 5, with teenagers aged 13, 15 and 17, we wanted a family friendly area with great access to everything SF has to offer. The location is wonderful - just off a main road, but adjacent to the Presidio and close to many restaurants, coffee and even an urgent care center nearby.
The home is very nicely appointed, and it was great that all the kids had their own bedroom. Note that 3 of the bedrooms are on the top floor, while the 4th bedroom doubles as the media room on the walkout basement level with a pullout bed. All have their own en-suite bathrooms - something have at home and were hoping to have on vacation as well.
We have stayed in numerous homes throughout the US, and have had our share of a few that we would not revisit. This home stands out above most others - and we would highly recommend it for the more discerning family with older, more mature kids (there is some artwork that might need to be covered for younger kids - just a heads up...).
Great location - great home - nice kitchen, and close to so much!
This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful home. We had a truly incredible time at one of the best homes and locations in San Francisco. Incredibly close to the great shops and restaurants on Chestnut Street, the serenity and beauty of the Presidio, the Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge and so much more. The owners took great care in creating this wonderful home with first class furnishings and were a pleasure to work with.
We had a great time at this property and would absolutely come back again. We feel very fortunate to be able to experience the beauty of San Francisco in such a fabulous setting.
The interior of the home was absolutely beautiful and spacious and clean. If you are used to nice hotels this home will not disappoint! I wanted to take home the pillow I slept on. The outdoor living areas were an added bonus - gorgeous ambiance, relaxing, and spectacular views. The pool table provided our young adult children with hours of fun. Some nights we needed the outdoor heaters and fire pit and they were very easy to turn on and off - a push of a button, turn of a key, or a flip of a switch. Jason and his brother give you the low-down on the entire house at check-in and are only a text or call away if you have any questions at all. The pictures of this place do not do it justice.I hope to be back to this vacation house again someday...it was perfect...I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else if you have a group that wants to experience the whole city!
AREA: The Palace of Fine Arts and all its beauty is practically in your backyard and my 20 something kids all enjoyed walking to the Golden Gate Bridge. We had no car and got everywhere walking or a short cab ride to various attractions. We were able to walk to many great local restaurants/bars along Chestnut St. every night (Tipsy Pig, Izzy's). Dinner reservations in SF are far from necessary but helpful...especially on weekends. Down the street was a small food market and deli that gave us everything we needed. We also went on an incredible SF tour (The Real San Francisco Tour...we went on the urban tour...highly recommended) This is a real SF experience that has you walking/ riding/shopping your way through the various districts.. only for small groups under 12 people...book it ahead of time. This beautiful home was centrally located to all that we did in SF. When we didn't walk somewhere, we spent no more than $15-20 tops for cab rides to get everywhere we needed to be across the various districts. A great location that gives you more than all the amenities of home!
Many people love to hike through and around the Presidio which just happens to be one block away. Walk through the newly built Lucas - Industrial Light & Animation facility! Plus our favorite Starbucks...sit and have a cup of coffee while gazing at the Palace of Fine Arts. Bike riding is also a big draw through the Presidio and Marina... If you like to golf, you need to play TPC Harding Park, home of the Presidents Cup & Charles Schwab Cup or just up the hill from our house is the Presidio Golf Course.
No matter what you do here...you won't be bored!
