Why Curtis chose Sunset District

GUEST REVIEWS (a small sample of 40 different review from other listing sites)

'We had a really GREAT stay at Curtis' Sunset apartment. This is why you should stay here:

- Get to know a lovely and quiet neighborhood most tourists never get to visit but that is still a few blocks away from the Golden Gate Park and all it has to offer.

- Take advantage of the Muni, which literally stops steps away from the apartment and takes you all the way to Embarcadero and everything in between.

- Enjoy the many dining options around or a couple of Muni stops away.

- The apartment itself is wonderful and spacious. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and the living has a very versatile futon that may sleep up to two. We were visiting our daughter who attends college in SF and she got to stay with us one night and was very comfortable in the futon.

- The kitchen is big and modern and has everything you need to eat in.

- They have a wonderful little garden in the back to enjoy a glass of wine and have a relaxing time.

- When you arrive, you are greeted by the host, given the house keys and off you go! Communication with the host is great, quick and painless.

We would definitely stay here again, hopefully longer.

This would make a great headquarters for a long-term stay!'

--Adriana

'My husband and I loved staying here for five days. Everything was so clean and comfortable. Curtis was very helpful but also gave us full privacy. It gave us a taste of what living in the city is like. The MUNI was so easy to use to get around town. We had a great time exploring the neighborhood. We spent a lot of time on Irving Street, a block away, and ate delicious Chinese pastries. We also walked a couple blocks to Golden Gate Park which was a beautiful. We hope to stay here again.' --Emily

Cute, immaculate, friendly owner

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was arranged well with the bedroom in the back, looking out to the backyard. It was decorated nicely and every room was immaculate. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The owner provided an internet and some very thoughtful items such as useful reference books and complimentary tea, coffee, and water. Curtis couldn't have been nicer and he was always prompt in all his replies. We caught the tram which ran down the opposite side of the street to find coffee and breakfast. It's very convenient having that service outside your door. The tram didn't bother us because we were pretty tired after sight-seeing all day.

When we finally settled down for the night, I didn't even hear it. I would definitely stay there again.

Great location for being involved in the city!!

  • 4 of 5

The apt was located perfectly for all of our venturing needs! Curtis & Rachel were so welcoming & helpful, even allowing us to check in early due to fight times. The kitchen had everything we needed, very well maintained and we loved the Lindt chocolates on the night stand. We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity!

Very Accomodating

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a great stay! Curtis and Rachel were very accommodating and the apartment really looks great. Great idea for a traveling couple. Close to Golden Gate Park and the Botanical Gardens. There is also a nice street with local coffee shops and restaurants nearby a short drive or bus ride away. There is some noise with the trolly, but the amenities make up for it. Thanks Curtis and Rachel!

Great place; ideal location

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience using Homeaway and it couldn't have gone any smoother or been any better. The place we stayed at was clean as a whistle, nicely laid out and easy to get in and get out of. One of our daughters lives in the Sunset and it turned out her house was a mere 2-3 minute walk from where we stayed. I'm a runner and our place was conveniently located to Golden Gate Park (a couple of blocks away) and it was a beautiful run down a great trail to Ocean Beach and up along the coast at Land's End. Fantastic running. Needless to say, I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone.

Beautiful space in the Sunset District

  • 4 of 5

This is a really beautiful space for a couple/small family. The apartment is finished to a really high standard, with a modern, well-equipped kitchen, and a big comfortable bed. We loved the garden space too. Curtis and Rachel are super welcoming and helpful, and we received responses to all our emails almost immediately. The apartment is about a half-hour Muni ride from downtown, the stop is right outside the front door, trains are frequent and run throughout the night - however, this also causes quite a bit of noise inside the apartment. Nevertheless, our 2-year old slept straight through! We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it to others. Thanks Curtis and Rachel!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much, Natasja, for your candid review. It was a pleasure to host your family. We very much appreciate your kind words and assessment of our place - we have taken great care to make our apartment "home-y" for our guests, both with our amenities and our customer service. It's pretty amazing how quickly you get used to the trolly going by across the street (N Judah line runs until 1:45 am) as you can attest with your 2-year old was able to sleep through it. It's all part of the charm that comes with the convenience of living here in the outer sunset. Above all, we are so glad you electing to stay with us during your SF trip and we absolutely welcome you back when you are in town again. Thank you for taking the time to review our place. Take very good care and safe travels in the future. Sincerely, Curtis and Rachel

My San Francisco get away

  • 5 of 5

I loved the flat we stayed in in the sunset district of San Francisco. It was right on Judah and I knew that would be right on the Muni line. The flat itself was comfortable and clean with a gorgeous kitchen that I didn't spend enough time in! It had a lovely backyard and we saw a couple of hummingbirds back there! All the amenities were there for the morning ritual--coffee or tea, a nice hot shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash! The Muni stopped practically right in front of the house, so that was the gateway to the city. From there we could explore ocean beach or downtown, which we did. But the neighborhood is quiet and I felt very safe there. Curtis was a wonderful host and even supplied a spare set of keys when our group was temporarily separated. He was very gracious and when, in a panic, I realized 1/2 way down to the central coast that I had left in such a hurry I left a drawer full of clothes there, he packed them up and shipped them and I had them two days later! He said, "If you forget something, then you had a good time in San Francisco". Well, I guess I had a great time! I was so grateful at how quickly he got them to me!

The train (Muni) runs 24/7 so that took a little getting used to. But it never bothered me nor did it wake me at night. Just part of living in San Francisco. I love renting apartments when I travel because I can live like a local.

I know enough about the city to get around on my own, but I know I could have called Curtis at any time for help and it was nice knowing he was right there. He and his wife were very nice people. I highly recommend staying there and I would stay there again.
