The ideal place to kick back or relax with nature. Have breakfast and lunch on the huge private deck, the most popular spot at the cottage. It may cool off enough in the evenings to build a fire - even in mid summer. Then, curl up and find a good book to read.
The main level features a cozy living room, beautiful views of the outdoor deck from the kitchen, 2 bedrooms with queens beds and 2 baths. Downstairs is 1 bedroom with 2 queens beds and another bedroom with a full bed and 1.5 baths. There is ample parking for you and your guests.

This is our favorite spot to escape the heat of Florida. My family and friends have been enjoying this perfect mountain getaway for years. Completely furnished with everything you might need. Port Meirion dishes sets off the new kitchen with cherry cabinets. VERY COMFORTABLE!
Jeanne purchased this cottage in 1968
The views from the deck are spectacular looking out to the top of Mt Lynn Lowrey with its magnificent lighted cross. Look down on the Blue Ridge Parkway! Entrance just two miles away. Always cool breezes.
For the adventuresome, take a hike down to historical Balsam Mountain Inn. Situated exactly between beautiful downtown Waynesville and Sylva, you can shop until you drop. Retailers include many local artists and unique specialty shops. Nearby Cherokee is loved by all. Visit the Indian Museum or have a picnic, while the kids play in the river, which flows through the center of the village. All aboard Thomas Train or the passenger train from Dillsboro to Nantahala. Visit Waynesville Rec Center for a hike along the river paths or to enjoy the popular indoor pool. Lake Junaluska's more than 2-mile walk around the lake is adored by all. You can even walk your pet on a leash.
You'll find restaurants, movie theatres, and plenty of activities for the children in nearby Maggie Valley and Asheville (30 minutes). The beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway is located at the bypass where you turn off to go up the mountain to this cottage - or a 3 minute drive from this cottage to get on the Parkway. Whisk away on a breathtaking scenic drive, stop for a hike to waterfalls at Graveyard Fields. Take a picnic and relax and absorb the quiet panoramic views of the Great Smokey Mountains and it's National Park.
We had the best time here!! The cottage was cozy and welcoming. It was well furnished. We had everything we needed to cook, relax and enjoy ourselves. The deck is amazing!! It is huge and and rocking chairs, a hammock and awesome views from all sides. The owner made sure everything was in order for our arrival. She even had a load of fire wood delivered so we could enjoy the fireplace. We could not have asked for a better place to stay! It was exactly what we were looking for.
This is comfy with great porches and terrific view of the Smokies. We were most happy with our week there and hope to return another summer!
I love the mountains, particularly here in North Carolina. This cottage has a great deck and I truly enjoyed rocking in the rocking chair while talking, reading or just staring at the trees. It's just so peaceful. However, there was also enough activity away from from the cottage that kept us from becoming sedentary. For example, if you don't want to walk on the mountain roads, you can drive a short distance and walk on level land for about two miles. In addition, Waynesville is an interesting town with fun shopping and the airport in Ashville is nearby as well as the Biltmore House. I would highly recommend this property to my family and friends.
What a ball is is at this hideaways in the mountains. Round and round, which is easy to do, brings you to the top of the mountain so life is between you and the sky and the mountain top at daybreak. The sun shines, animals flourish, the flowers magnificent And you only need to decide your activities of the day. Or get in the hammock and read a book. Close by is the Biltmore estate, waynesville with all kinds of shops( I'd recommend the Sweet Onion for lunch) and fun places to spend a few pennies. Dinner Is. as easily solved at home or going to the old local hotel for something special. Cannot wait to go back or encourage my children to go. The cottage was so convenient, furnished, comfortable.
Stayed at this cottage with 7 friends from our 1954 high school class. Couldn't have been better. The everyday world disappeared, and we relaxed. Waynesville is nearby, and has wonderful shopping, restaurants, artistic community, and an excellent playhouse. Spectacular mountain views.
Beautiful views, secluded, yet easy access to expressway. 30 minutes from Asheville and Cherokee, 1 hour from Dollywood.
