We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Royal Glitter Bay Villas " in Barbados. From the moment we stepped on the property we knew it was going to be nothing short of amazing. We were met by a Fabulous lady " Nuru" who took us straight to the bar upon our arrival and we were served the most refreshing Rum Punch drink which is well known to the Islanders... She took us through the complex for a tour ,had our bags delivered to our rooms and made us feel like Royalty. What a beginning..
The Beach was Pristine. The first few days the red flag was up and I was dying to jump into the sparkling waters free of Seaweed... The flag turned to yellow and you couldn't keep me out of the water! It was simply Divine. The staff are the Best, they treat everyone with a high degree of respect. Whether you were looking for directions or an opinion on where to go for fun...anything, they are at your beck & call. We can even say that we thoroughly enjoyed the occasional seller coming to our lounger. They were extremely interesting and respectful of your time. You can get anything from the most amazing massage using a real Aloe Vera plant to shopping for local art and Jewellery.
The condo itself is Spic and Span and nicely decorated with a wonderful balcony overlooking the pool and some with ocean views. You can walk the beaches
both ways and meet up with amazing people from all over the world.
We spent our time soaking in the sun ,reading a book, walking along the beach . Sometimes we ate at the bar on the site and the food was very good. We really enjoyed the first night when you get to meet everyone that is staying at the condo , great conversations, food & drinks... some people had guitars and we had some sing alongs too. You will enjoy seeing monkeys on the premises and an occasional cat or two.
Once you leave the condo you can grab a cab, hop on a bus or even walk to certain places. We felt very safe. We both actually enjoyed hopping on the bus and meeting the local people who made sure we got off in the right place or told us about great places to eat and things to do.There is a market close buy and you can experience Barbados Grocery shopping. Some things on the shelf's you may never see again, that's for sure!
We hired a Chauffeur to spend the day with us and he took us around the entire island. This we highly recommend. One day we spent at the Fairgrounds where I am safe to say anyone who lived on the Island attended. It was delightful to see eve
