Clean, comfortable condo with immaculate property grounds located pretty much in the center of Maui island activities. Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful ocean views from the balcony. It was oceanfront but tucked back from the waters so that it wasn't noisy. Had all the amenities to make the stay comfortable. Will consider to stay here again.
Just returned to Washington from our two week stay in Maui. I'll start by saying the pictures you see are real, and the first one Labeled "View from Lanai" is exactly what you see. I would guess it's about 40 yards to the water.
The owner is first class and very easy to communicate with.
Even though it was only late November, we did manage to see a few whales from the lanai and grounds. And the big surprise was the turtles! I'm told by the locals, this is a new feature. There were only one or two days when we did not see turtles right in front of the condo. At times we were watching up to eight at a time. And sometimes right up against the rock bulkhead feeding 15 feet away. I'm sure there's no guarantee when they'll be around, but this was pretty cool, and contributed significantly to my sunburn.
The grounds are well kept, as is the pool and two gas grills. All the residence seemed to respect the place. The stainless steel grills were clean and we picked up on the unwritten rule, wire brush the grill when you're done so it's clean for the next user. We picked up some inch thick pork chops at Costco and they turned out to be about as tender as I've ever had. Low setting flipped three times, around 20 minutes total.
I'll also throw in an unsolicited plug for Beach Bums, a restaurant about a 5 minute walk away at the harbor. We eat there allot. Fish tacos, BBQ ribs, prime rib, all good.
The condo's AC worked great. We didn't use it much during the day, only a bit at night(used to 70 F at night). During the day, opening the doors, and the kitchen window really kept the place nice. Maalaea can be windy, and this is a good thing, as you don't feel the humidity with the breeze flowing through the condo. That also kept us acclimated to the outside air temp as we spent a fair amount of time on the lanai and out sightseeing.
We walked down the road to the beach almost every day. I'd recommend wearing sandals or flip flops through the park as there are thorns from the local trees on the ground. Once on the beach no problem. My brother and I walked almost every day about 2 miles down this beach toward Sugar Beach. This put the finishing touches on my sunburn.
All in all, no complaints. We will stay here again, and I will recommend this to friends. This is a nice place, respect it.

On secluded cul-de-sac between Maalaea Bay and sugar cane fields
The complex is conveniently located:
* You can walk 1/4 mile down sugarcane-lined Hauoli Street to the end of the road at Haycraft Park. There, you can start a walking or jogging journey at the quiet and undeveloped four-mile white sandy Maalaea Beach (Maui's largest beach, sometimes called Sugar Beach due to the fine-grained sand), or
* You can walk just around the corner to the Maalaea Harbor and Village with its general store and restaurants (see below).
You can end the day with an evening sunset walk on Maalaea Beach and then dinner at one of the harbor area's excellent restaurants.
Condo Grounds and Amenities
The grounds and facilities of the condominium complex are outstanding, considered the best in Maalaea with the largest swimming pool, several BBQs and lounge chairs on golfing-green-like grass—plus it’s just a short two-minute walk along the lawns by the seawall bordering the neighbor condominium buildings to relax on the small “hidden beach” bordering the harbor.
Maalaea Harbor and Village
You are within walking distance of the Maui Aquarium, the Pacific Whale Foundation whale watching cruises (during whale season), snorkeling excursions, scuba diving, dinner cruises and game fishing. Restaurants include two fine dining, one Pizza, one Deli and one casual dining all within walking distance. Enjoy the famous Waterfront Restaurant, Beach Bums, Buzz's Wharf and Seascape Restaurant. There is also the Maui Ocean Center, Maui Dive Shop, ice cream and gourmet coffee. You can catch the Maui Bus at the sidewalk below the Ocean Center if you'd rather not drive to Lahaina, Kaahumanu Mall, Wailea, Paia, etc.
Natural, Athletic & Sightseeing Activities Nearby
The location in Maalaea Bay is central to all of the main activities on Maui. Only a 15-minute drive to Lahaina, Kihei, Wailea and Wailuku and Kahului Airport.
