We have had vacation rentals in the Florida keys and now have a beautiful home in St Croix on the crystal clear, warm waters of Cane Bay.
Tom Pierce purchased this villa in 2014
We traveled all over the Caribbean looking for the perfect lifestyle mixed with Scuba Diving and Relaxation. We found the laid back style of St Croix the perfect fit.
Plenty of parking. It is a split Villa connected by a the 2nd story bedrooms, which can be shared by either villa. The 1st floor of both villas the master bedroom with in-suite bath kitchen living and dining. Also a half bath and outdoor shower on the breezeway.
This property was beautiful and in a great locAtion. The view of Cane Bay was amazing. The businesses near by were friendly. Only two things to know prior to arrival: cell phones do not work unless connected to the house Internet and the driveway is very steep. We rented a van and the bottom scraped on the cement. The owner and the property manager were helpful, but even the manager does not have cell service. All communication is through email to him taking a day to respond. I definitely would use the property again. We went to Rowdy Joe"s for amazing drinks and Off the Wall down the road has great service. Big Beard Adventures was a good time for exploring Buck Island. Off site ideas: Pollys at the Pier in Fredericksted was good and The Chicken Shack was amazing and cheap. St. Croix has special bracelets for keepsakes if jewelry is of interest. A word of knowledge keep in mind you're on an island; we spent $500 for groceries for 6 for a week and drinks out are $6-10 each. Lots of sun, fun and definaty worth it.
My wife and I stayed for two weeks. The home was beautiful and the views were incredible! The weather was perfect without rain. Larry the property manager was great and we are happy to say we now have him as a friend! Places to eat and drink are nearby and the area feels very safe. We can't wait to go back to this property in Cane Bay.
My family of four spent the week at Yellow Sun Villa for Christmas. The house met our needs perfectly. We love the North Shore views of Cane Bay to the east and Hams bluff to the west. The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of time at the beaches and enjoying the view on the patio. Our best meals were the buffet at Carambola and dinner at Rowdy Joes (both nearby). Larry the caretaker was very helpful and answered our questions quickly. Our cell phones didn't really work (we have Verizon which doesn't work on the island apparently) but the wifi at the house worked well and I was able to use the house phone to make local reservations and left that number as a contact number. When I got a voice message on the house phone, it was emailed to me so I could check it, which was very convenient. I was pleasantly surprised there was free wifi at Cane Bay beach and Davis Bay (Carambola) beaches. We weren't as distracted by our cell phones as we our in the states, but were still able to keep in touch with family and friends over the holidays. The house was great amenities and was very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants privacy and a great view.
This villa has a million dollar view. The interior is well equipped, very modern, clean and the property manager was very helpful. I would absolutely recommend this villa and we hope to return again. Off the Wall bar was very close and right on the beach, great place to mingle with the locals. Eat at Cane Bay was the closest restaurant. The menu had a wide range of options and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed Rowdy Joes, a bit further away. Our last evening splurge was The Terrace at the Buccaneer, wonderful meal..
My wife and I had a phenomenal time at this house. The view was awesome with a breeze at all times. St Croix is a great place to honeymoon, this house enhanced it immensely. The house was excellent for everything, and fully equipped with anything you may need. There were so many things to do there, much more than we expected. Definitely recommend, will love to come back.....:)
The house was beautifully furnished and equipped. The landscaping including the hummingbirds is beautiful. The bathroom between the two upstairs bedroom could be a problem depending on the comfort level of the renters. We were fine with it. We loved the view and the lovely breezeway and outdoor spaces. We needed an iron and called. A new one was there within a few hours. I would happily return.
YELLOW SUN VILLA
If you really want some time away from the hustle and bustle then come on down and stay for a while Recharge. Connect with the lovely deep, blue sea. YELLOW SUN VILLA is a place of peaceful beauty...there is no need to go or do anything if this is your desire.
But those blue waves do look inviting, don't they?
Walk to our beautiful beach, set yourself down on the white sand with a glass of wine at sunset or take a swim in the warm, turquoise waters.
Maybe you would like to take a morning hike up the road behind the house to the top of Mt. Eagle. No one will be on that road but you. Look for hidden flowers, tropical plants you have never met before, and glimpses of that turquoise water below. Birds follow you in flight as you walk. It is just you, the mountain, and the sea. Not many other places like this...so private yet so very accessible. Come and enjoy.
Now all of this quiet beauty is inspiring and might be all that you want and need. But maybe you are thinking about venturing out a little further? Well, worry not because just down the North Shore Rd. (walk or drive) sits the coolest place and it is called Cane Bay Beach. A real hidden gem of a destination without crowds and lines, where you can feel comfortable hanging out by yourself or meet up with some interesting characters! The curve of a white, sandy beach invites you to lounge, swim, snorkel, scuba, and kayak. The infamous 'WALL' is a 13,000 foot drop about 300 feet offshore. For all of you divers this is a great destination. Hal and Suzanne of Cane Bay Dive Shop are located across from the beach and will set you up...first timers too. Kayaks are available for rent also as is snorkel gear.
Calvin, the owner of Sprat Net, a little bar/restaurant right on Cane Bay Beach will be happy to chat with you about the island but he always keeps his eye on his son, little Calvin, who dives into the surf after school. Calvin has all of those crazy rum drinks and also grills burgers for you right there on the beach.
Across the road is EAT@ Cane Bay, a wonderful restaurant with food shots, local fish, eclectic specials and a wonderful wine list, as well as some very creative libations. Beware! Bartenders at EAT mix some potent island drinks! EAT has a weekly Sunday brunch with great, local reggae music.
Down the road a bit further, is the place of 'sunset shot' fame, a little beach hangout and pizza place called Off The Wall. Everything is out in the open. Picnic tables sit in the sand, and the bar is a haven for the lucky ones who left the snow and winds and now call St. Croix home. Listen in on some tall tales as there are a few salty sailors and divers still around. What does Off the Wall celebrate EVERY DAY? The beautiful sunset, off course. Dianna and Craig offer a free, rum sunset shot every afternoon at sunset for EVERYONE in the house. Lots of music played here too.
Drive down the beach and in the next few miles you will have some more wonderful choices for dinner. The Waves, Above the Cliff, Sylvie's, and Rowdy Joes...from Mexican to sushi with great music in many of these venues!
