Stratford Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5)
A classic 1930s beach cottage with an uncluttered interior, beautiful light, incredible views and an inviting deck. It's a great place to unwind with friends or just a special loved one. It's perfect for two couples as there's a bedroom and living area on each floor. But it's also a wonderful place for families, with lots of room to play inside and out.
The cottage, recently re-constructed and furnished by local artists, has an open floor plan and casual furnishings. In addition to a bedroom, the first floor has an open kitchen, eating, and living area that opens out onto a large deck overlooking the water. A second bedroom with dressing room and a spacious living area comprise the second floor.
The recently renovated bathroom has a rainfall shower head and pebble shower floor. When the temperature dips, a wood stove provides warmth and adds to the charm. The upstairs living area has a daybed which can be used for a fifth guest.
Walking and biking are favorite past times. Sailing, wind-surfing, golf, fishing, and bird watching are other popular activities. Make sure not to miss a trip to Marnick's, a venerable seaside diner just down the way, for ice cream and family meals.
The cottage is located only minutes off of interstate I-95, and is quickly accessible from Stamford to New Haven. Local train service from Stratford and Bridgeport to New York, Stamford, and New Haven is easily accessible.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Charming, rustic beach cottage with a well-appointed kitchen and terrific bathroom, both nicely renovated. The best feature, though is location: this cottage is set at ocean's edge, and features loads of windows facing out on Long Island Sound. We were continually delighted by the sights and sounds of the waves, tides, and birds. WiFi worked perfectly. Bed linens are first-rate. Cottage also includes a handy washer/dryer and dishwasher.
We bought a home in historic Lordship, a peninsula at the southern tip of Stratford, because of the beauty of the area and its convenient location. Lordship is truly an undiscovered gem with its old homes, tree-shaded streets and great spirit of community. We feel fortunate to have such an easily accessible retreat from the hustle and bustle of Southwestern Connecticut.
